California's 22nd congressional district is a congressional district in the U.S. state of California . The district is currently represented by Republican David Valadao .
The 22nd is located in the San Joaquin Valley , comprising parts of Fresno and Tulare counties. The district includes most of eastern Fresno , as well as all of Clovis , Tulare , and Visalia .
Prior to redistricting in 2011, the district covered most of Kern County and parts of San Luis Obispo and Los Angeles counties. The district was anchored by Bakersfield . Most of that district is now split between the 23rd and 24th districts, while most of the territory within the current 22nd was previously in the 21st district .
