Aliganj is a town and a municipal board in Etah district in the state of Uttar Pradesh, India. Mahfooz Ali khan Ex agriculture chairman and Ex member of parliament belonged to the city
Geography
Aliganj is located at 27°30′N 79°11′E / 27.5°N 79.18°E.[1] It has an average elevation of 154 metres (505 ft). The nearest city to Aliganj are Sarai aghat, Etah, Khair, Kaimganj, Farrukhabad, Aligarh.
Demographics
As of 2001 India census,[2] Aliganj had a population of 24,269. Males constitute 53% of the population and females 47%. Aliganj has an average literacy rate of 53%, lower than the national average of 59.5 %; with 60% of the males and 40% of females literate. 18% of the population is under 6 years of age.
