Civic Center

Civic Center (Chinese:市民中心) is a 84.7 meters-tall government building Shenzhen, China. It's located within the Futian Central Business District and was constructed at a cost of CNY 2.172 billion.[1] It comprises a museum, a historical archive, a conferences room with a capacity of 2500 and government offices, and other establishments.

The building's roof spans 486 meters and has a width of 154 meters.[2] The roof is meant to represent the wings of a mythical bird (similar to a roc) named Dapeng (大鹏), which is also the name of the Dapeng Peninsula and a district in Shenzhen.

The building's architect is Li Mingyi. The building was built by the Shenzhen QiXin Construction Group Co., Ltd.[3] Construction started in late 1998 and was completed in May 2004.
