Covington Township is located in Washington County, Illinois. As of the 2010 census, its population was 418 and it contained 193 housing units.[1]

According to the 2010 census, the township has a total area of 39.69 square miles (102.8 km2), of which 39.62 square miles (102.6 km2) (or 99.82%) is land and 0.07 square miles (0.18 km2) (or 0.18%) is water.[1]
