Kao Yuan University is an industrial science and technology university located in the Kaohsiung Science Park, formerly known as the Private Kao Yuan Industrial College, which was established in the Republic of China in 1975 and enrolled in the Ministry of Education in 1987. In August of 1989, the specialized school was reorganized into a special department of the Institute of Advanced Studies. In 1994, it was renamed as Kao Yuan University of Science and Technology. In 2005, it was finally named Kao Yuan University. At present, there are four colleges, eight institutes, fourteen departments, and six degree programs, including the School of Planning and Design, the College of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering, the School of Business and Management, and the School of Information.[1]

  • In 1986, the lease TSC land, planning to set up "private Kao Yuan Industrial specialist school" by Yu Chen Yueh-ying as the founder, Yuling Ya as chairman. [1][2]
  • In 1989, the "Private Kao Yuan Industrial College" was established, and Professor Liao Fengzheng was appointed as the principal .[1]
  • In 1991, it was renamed as “Private Kao Yuan Industrial and Commercial College”. In 1995, a special training school was established.[1]
  • In 1998, it was approved by the Ministry of Education to be “Kao Yuan Institute of Technology”. The second-year technical department of the University Department began enrolling students, and attached a special department and a special training school. The original night department was renamed the training department with the school restructuring.[1]
  • In 1999, the four-year technical department officially enrolled students.[1]
  • In 2000, the Institute of Advanced Studies was established.[1]
  • In 2002, the Institute of Business Management was established , and the Department of Information Management and Communication was split into the Department of Information Management and the Department of Information Communication.[1]
  • In 2003, the Department of Chemical Engineering was renamed the Department of Biochemical Engineering.[1]
  • In 2004, an additional polymer environmentally friendly materials Institute; Architectural Engineering Department was renamed the Department of Architecture, International Trade Department was renamed Finance financial system.[1]
  • In August 2005, it was renamed as "Kao Yuan University of Science and Technology", with engineering school, mechanical and electrical college and business and management college.[1]
  • In 2006, the Institute of Electrical Engineering, the Institute of Electrical Engineering, the Institute of Mechanical and Automation Engineering, the Institute of Road Engineering and the Institute of Architecture were added. The Department of Automation Engineering was renamed the Department of Mechanical and Automation Engineering.[1]
  • In 2007, the Institute of Road Engineering changed its name to the Institute of Civil Engineering, the Institute of Polymer Environmental Materials changed its name to the Institute of Chemical and Biochemical Engineering, the Department of Biochemical Engineering changed its name to the Department of Chemical and Biochemical Engineering, and the Department of Finance and Finance changed its name to the Department of International Business.[1]
  • In 2008, the School of Information was established. The addition of the Information Technology Application Research Institute, the Department of Information Technology, the Department of Marketing and Circulation Management, and the Department of Optoelectronic Science and Engineering.[1]
  • In 2009, the Department of Leisure Sports Management was added.[1]
  • In 2010, the Department of Green Energy Technology and the Bachelor of Arts in Film and Television Communication Design were added. The Department of Chemical and Biochemical Engineering established a new material technology group and applied biotechnology group.[1]
  • In 2011, the company added a master's degree in technology integration of the fastener industry, a degree course in fragrance and health care, a degree program in green environment design, a degree in cultural creative design and digital integration, and a degree program in tourism and recreation. The Department of Architecture and Technology of the Department of Architecture was renamed the Architectural Design Group of the Department of Architecture ; the Bachelor of Television Communication Design after Bachelor of Arts was renamed the Bachelor of Science in Information Communication Design.[1]
  • In March 2012, he appointed Zeng Canguang as the president of Kao Yuan Technology University.[1]
  • In 2012, the Department of Cosmetics Application and Management, the multimedia animation game degree program, the space information application degree program, the silver-haired business management degree program, and the tourism and recreation business management degree program were added. The Marketing and Circulation Management Department is a division of the Distribution Management Team and the Creative Marketing Group.   • In 2013, the Space Information Application Degree Program was renamed the Mobile Multimedia Design Degree Program . The Department of Information Technology and Information Technology Applications was merged and renamed the Department of Information Technology Applications and Masters. The School of Engineering was renamed the School of Planning and Design.[1]
  • In 2014, the Department of Information and Communication was divided into groups of film and television communication design groups and digitalmedia design groups. The Department of Mechanical and Automation Engineering has added a computer-aided design team. The Management Research Institute is incorporated into the Department of Business Administration as a Master of Management.[1]
  • In 2015, the Bachelor of Science in Tourism and Recreational Business was renamed the Department of Tourism Management, and the Department of International Business was suspended.[1]
  • In 2016, the Department of Technology Integration and Technology and Automation Engineering of the Fastener Industry was integrated into the Department of Mechanical and Automation Engineering and the Master of Technology in Fastener Industry (Master's in-service class). The Department of Green Energy Science and Technology was renamed the Department of Green Energy Applications, and the Silver Business Management Degree Program was renamed the Silver Business and Social Work Bachelor degree program. The Department of Cosmetics Application and Management was renamed the Department of Cosmetics Applications; the Institute of Chemical and Biochemical Engineering and the Department of Cosmetics Application and Management were integrated into the Department of Cosmetic Applications and Masters.[1]
  • In 2016, Zhao Bixiao was appointed as the president of Kao Yuan University of Science and Technology.[1]
