Hello, Bop34. It has been over six months since you last edited the Articles for Creation submission or draft page you started, Draft:Dog Man (Graphic Novel).

In accordance with our policy that Wikipedia is not for the indefinite hosting of material deemed unsuitable for the encyclopedia mainspace, the draft has been deleted. If you plan on working on it further and you wish to retrieve it, you can request its undeletion by following the instructions at this link. An administrator will, in most cases, restore the submission so you can continue to work on it. — JJMC89(T·C) 05:47, 1 August 2019 (UTC)

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Wowflute, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, group, product, service, person, or point of view and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. Mccapra (talk) 07:51, 29 January 2021 (UTC)

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Jean-Marie Letellier, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page SPM. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, DPL bot (talk) 06:20, 1 February 2021 (UTC)

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Health and safety hazards of 3D printing requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be an unambiguous copyright infringement. This page appears to be a direct copy from https://medium.com/@boccalattem/healt-and-safety-be9a9bc841e4?source=---------9------------------. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images taken from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites or other printed material as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to use it for any reason — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. The same holds if you are not the owner but have their permission. If you are not the owner and do not have permission, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for how you may obtain it. You might want to look at Wikipedia's copyright policy for more details, or ask a question here.

Speedy deletion nomination of Health and safety hazards of 3D printing

Hello Bop34,

I wanted to let you know that I just tagged Health and safety hazards of 3D printing for deletion, because it seems to be copied from another source, probably infringing copyright.

If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to rewrite it in your own words, you can contest this deletion, but don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. Thanks!

Message delivered via the Page Curation tool, on behalf of the reviewer.

John B123, Yeah sorry about that. It was split from the 3D printing article so I didn't know that it was a copy. I'm going to fix it as soon as possible. βӪᑸᙥӴTalkContribs 23:22, 10 February 2021 (UTC)
Hi Bop34. My apologies. I didn't look at your edit summary. I've removed the tag. Regards. --John B123 (talk) 23:30, 10 February 2021 (UTC)

Mike Judge, and CopyPatrol

Hi Bop34 and thank you for your interest in copyright cleanup. Note that http://yourcontrolinfo.blogspot.com/2017/12/king-of-hill_17.html is a Wikipedia mirror; i.e. it is a copy of the Wikipedia page King of the Hill. Please be alert for copying within Wikipedia when examining potential copyvios. When copying within Wikipedia, attribution is required. If you discover an editor has copied from one Wikipedia article to another, you should add the required attribution and alert the editor as to how to do it themselves. You can use the template {{uw-copying}} for this purpose. Please take the time to review the detailed instructions at https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/CopyPatrol before performing any more assessments at CopyPatrol, so as to do everything correctly and completely. Thanks again, — Diannaa (talk) 14:43, 1 March 2021 (UTC)

Diannaa, Hey I've read the instructions, I just didn't realize the website was a mirror. βӪᑸᙥӴTalkContribs 12:52, 2 March 2021 (UTC)
A couple of clues: organized with headers like our articles, the references and external links section, and (not all mirrors have this:) it says at the bottom "Source of the article: Wikipedia" Diannaa (talk) 13:07, 2 March 2021 (UTC)
Diannaa, Thanks I'll be sure to look for that in the future. βӪᑸᙥӴTalkContribs 13:15, 2 March 2021 (UTC)

Section headings

In regards to this edit

Hi! I'm not sure why the section headings were reverted because I don't think those dividers are necessary: there are not enough schools to justify that.

Thanks WhisperToMe (talk) 21:39, 4 March 2021 (UTC)

WhisperToMe, yeah sorry I did that by accident. It's fine. I was about to revert it actually. βӪᑸᙥӴTalkContribs 21:40, 4 March 2021 (UTC)

Seeking Help

Hello! User Magnolia677 has targeted me and my good faith edit’s. He has continued to revert, delete & in my eyes Vandalize articles that I have had anything to do with. (See, Gary Busey, New Fairfield, CT, Joyce Randolph) Instead of helping the community he has put his own feelings first & decided to attack me passive aggressively through his editing power. I have reached out on his talk to end this by offering him WikiLove to no avail. Hoping you can help. Sincerely Yours, Elvisisalive95 (talk) 18:54, 5 March 2021 (UTC)

Elvisisalive95, Hey if you have a problem with something they are doing, you should bring it up with them on their talk page, or report them to an administrator. However, I don't think that they are vandalizing your edits. It seems that they have provided adequate edit summaries for all of their reversions. Please respond if you have any questions! βӪᑸᙥӴTalkContribs 19:03, 5 March 2021 (UTC)

Hi,

I see you denied the edit on Discrimination against asexual people and shoved me a "new guy" template on my discussions.

If you need to know more about my Wikipedia in Italian "resumé" or the WikiMedia one, you can find them here, and here, respectively. Not that it should matter anyway.

The quote in the article:

Spaces designed for asexual people have also been known to internally discriminate based on age, and to centre on whiteness.

is inherently wrong, unless proper citation is given that proves otherwise. The cited Buzzfeed article makes no mention of "spaces designed for asexual people" as being ageist or racist, or centering on a specific race. Even if it were, which is not, it'd still be hardly any evidence to make such strong assumptions on the matter.

Quoting the possible source of contention:

Please, review this passage on the article, and take the proper measures. CapoFantasma97 (talk) 19:50, 21 March 2021 (UTC)

@CapoFantasma97: I left the message on your talk page, but your edit was reverted by NZFC. You should bring it up on his talk page. βӪᑸᙥӴTalkContribs 19:57, 21 March 2021 (UTC)

Possible AWB rule violation

As far as I can tell, this AWB edit resulted in no change to the rendered page, which is a violation of AWB rule 4. Please ensure that when you use AWB, you make a substantive change to each page that you edit. – Jonesey95 (talk) 17:35, 31 March 2021 (UTC)

Ah yes you're right. I didn't realize that the dash change didn't make a visible difference. bop34talkcontribs 20:34, 31 March 2021 (UTC)
That's a tricky one. The citation templates do some auto-formatting of page ranges and dates. Be careful out there. I bear you no ill will; I've just seen other people get in trouble and lose their AWB access, which deprives the project of a lot of useful edits. – Jonesey95 (talk) 23:20, 31 March 2021 (UTC)

Rollback granted

Hi Bop34. After reviewing your request for "rollbacker", I have enabled rollback on your account. Keep in mind these things when going to use rollback:

  • Getting rollback is no more momentous than installing Twinkle.
  • Rollback should be used to revert clear cases of vandalism only, and not good faith edits.
  • Rollback should never be used to edit war.
  • If abused, rollback rights can be revoked.
  • Use common sense.

If you no longer want rollback, contact me and I'll remove it. Also, for some more information on how to use rollback, see Wikipedia:Administrators' guide/Rollback (even though you're not an admin). I'm sure you'll do great with rollback, but feel free to leave me a message on my talk page if you run into troubles or have any questions about appropriate/inappropriate use of rollback. Thank you for helping to reduce vandalism. Happy editing! Anarchyte (talkwork) 04:59, 2 April 2021 (UTC)

Wikipedia Library

Hi bop34, my question concerns the Wikipedia Library. A while ago you handled my request for access to the Rock's Backpages database. Unfortunately I forgot the process to log on to their website and I can't seem to find any explanation. Before I go deeper into what I've tried so far and other particulars; are you the person to talk to about this? Is this the correct talk page on the correct project? I read that you are hardly active anywhere else than here. Hiro (talk) 05:47, 14 May 2021 (UTC)

Hey @Hiro, I will look into it as soon as possible, which should be later today. bop34talkcontribs 13:54, 14 May 2021 (UTC)
Alright @Hiro, I have a screen recording that you can access at this link. Try it, and tell me if it works. bop34talkcontribs 22:40, 14 May 2021 (UTC)
Thanks, clicking that button takes me to the same address that I got in my mailbox after my application for RB got approved. Problem is that I'm not logged on. I can't read any article before logging into Rock's Backpages. I don't remember having received the login credentials but then I don't remember needing them either. Hiro (talk) 13:35, 15 May 2021 (UTC)
Do you have third party cookies disabled? bop34talkcontribs 21:27, 17 May 2021 (UTC)
I have a few ad blockers and anti-tracker extensions. I tried a browser session with all extensions turned off, but to no effect. Hiro (talk) 23:34, 17 May 2021 (UTC)

Rock's Backpages Application

Hello there! I've seen your the person who processes applications for Rock's, so I came here. I'm (obviously) requesting access due to my working area being almost exclusively in the area of music. Good citations are incredibly hard to find for a lot of less popular artists, bands, etc. and a database that deals with it would be incredibly useful in my hunt to find citations. Good day/night/whatever, either way.-- • Apollo468•  01:05, 10 October 2021 (UTC)

Hi there @Apollo468:. You should request access through the Wikipedia Library Website which can be accessed at this link, which I see you have not done. Access can't be granted without a request there. bop34talkcontribs 15:40, 10 October 2021 (UTC)

Adoption

Hello, Bop34,

Can you please adopt me in wikipedia?

Sincerely,

Sure! I've just been getting back into editing and have been looking for something to do. I'm busy at the current moment but will follow up tomorrow. bop34talkcontribs 00:59, 17 February 2022 (UTC)
@SteelerFan1933: Hey there, sorry for the wait. Do you happen to have Discord? If so that would be helpful for faster communication, although I am also available through email and IRC. bop34talkcontribs 20:09, 21 February 2022 (UTC)
No, I do not have a discord.SteelerFan1933 (talk) 20:20, 21 February 2022 (UTC)
Okay, that's good too, although you should probably be careful about putting your email publicly on the internet. I'll send you a message on your talk page soon, and I'll also send an email to you so you can contact me faster with any questions and such. I'm updating the page User:Bop34/Adoption center with more instructions. bop34talkcontribs 20:30, 21 February 2022 (UTC)
Yeah, I should be careful. I will delete my email from the message. SteelerFan1933 (talk) 23:27, 22 February 2022 (UTC)

Adoption (2nd adoptee)

Greetings, Bop34. I hope you are doing well. I would like to request an adoption in order to grow my general Wikipedia skills. Some of the skills I want to improve on are:

  1. Reverting vandalism.
  2. Fixing typos and red links.
  3. Creating and adding to Wikipedia articles.
  4. Learning to be bold with my edits (without being disruptive).

I understand that you have also just adopted SteelerFan1933, so you may be too busy with your current adoptees and deny this adoption request. I look forward to contributing to Wikipedia in the future with you. Base^8 Ten (talk) 02:25, 18 February 2022 (UTC)

@Base8Ten: Sorry for taking so long. I am more that willing to adopt you. Do you happen to have Discord? If so that would be helpful for faster communication, although I am also available through email and IRC. bop34talkcontribs 20:15, 21 February 2022 (UTC)
@Bop34: Yes, I have discord, although I'd rather share my discord username and tag privately. Is there any way I can privately send you my discord username and tag? Also, it's fine you took long, I understand you were busy. -Base^8 Ten- (talk/contribs) 21:11, 22 February 2022 (UTC)

Each users will soon see a new 'Homepage' tab next to their User page. It contains two main elements which might impact on your involvement - and you'd be welcome to get involved and help out directly with one of them.

  • Firstly, they will be offered a range of 'suggested edits', and encouraged to make simple improvements to pages that interest them. (Being aware of this feature would be helpful for all Teahouse hosts if you're likely to offer advice on tasks for them to start out doing.)
  • There's also a 'Your impact' box to show them how many people have seen the pages they've just edited.
  • Finally, each new user is randomly assigned a 'mentor' from a list of friendly, experienced editors, like yourself. If they get stuck, they can ask a question directly to them via a Your mentor box, and hopefully get a swift, friendly answer from that mentor. Currently, this feature is given to 2% of new users, but it's set to increase to around 10% in the very near future.

To spread the load on our current list of around 65 mentors, I'm reaching out to ask if you'd like to help out and sign up as one? The workload is relatively small; User Panini! reports receiving four questions a month, on average, all of which were simple ones of the type we already get at the Teahouse, whilst I've had just one in the last 3 weeks. To view a list of every question asked of all mentors over the last 14 days, click here.

If becoming a mentor and being available to help new users on their first few days here interests you - just as have done at the Teahouse in the past - then please consider signing up at Growth Team features/Mentor list. But please only do so if you are genuinely willing to be available to help. Existing users can already 'opt-in' to seeing the Newcomer Homepage features via their Preferences.

Thank you! Nick Moyes (talk) 14:38, 25 February 2022 (UTC)

Adoption

I started actively editing Wikipedia recently (as opposed to just fixing quotes that I came across in my studies that I found were misquoted). As someone who wishes to remain a part of the Wikipedia community and has a great love of copy editing, grammar, and copyright violation, I think that I would be able to learn a lot from a more experienced editor like yourself--if you're still accepting new adoptees, that is. Thank you for your time!

Women in Red 8th Anniversary

Women in Red 8th Anniversary
In July 2015 around 15.5% of the English Wikipedia's biographies were about women. As of July 2023, 19.61% of the English Wikipedia's biographies are about women. That's a lot of biographies created in the effort to close the gender gap. Happy 8th Anniversary! Join us for some virtual cake and add comments or memories and please keep on editing to close the gap!
