How do I unlink something in a template? For example at the bottom of Jess Lee (Malaysian singer) is a template for a show (I want to be a singer or some such..) and in the template one of the "Substitute singers" links to James Li, but it is the wrong James Li.
I see the V, T, and E buttons but while "Edit this template" pops uo when I click the E I don't know how to make it let me edit the template.
FloridaArmy (talk) 20:12, 14 February 2019 (UTC)
- Click the E and the window comes up. You can change it and publish. Legacypac (talk) 23:51, 14 February 2019 (UTC)
- Doesn't work fpr me. The edit this temple message pops up but I'm.not able to click on the message or edit the template. FloridaArmy (talk) 00:22, 15 February 2019 (UTC)

Ritchie333 (talk) (cont) 17:59, 14 February 2019 (UTC)- Excellent. Thank you. I'm not sure why this subject was so difficult to get approved. I hope it is expanded going forward by those who.have better access to archival sources than I do. FloridaArmy (talk) 18:18, 14 February 2019 (UTC)

Legacypac (talk) 03:07, 27 February 2019 (UTC)Edit-warring on One America News Network
Your recent editing history shows that you are currently engaged in an edit war; that means that you are repeatedly changing content back to how you think it should be, when you have seen that other editors disagree. To resolve the content dispute, please do not revert or change the edits of others when you are reverted. Instead of reverting, please use the talk page to work toward making a version that represents consensus among editors. The best practice at this stage is to discuss, not edit-war. See BRD for how this is done. If discussions reach an impasse, you can then post a request for help at a relevant noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, you may wish to request temporary page protection.
Being involved in an edit war can result in you being blocked from editing—especially if you violate the three-revert rule, which states that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Undoing another editor's work—whether in whole or in part, whether involving the same or different material each time—counts as a revert. Also keep in mind that while violating the three-revert rule often leads to a block, you can still be blocked for edit warring—even if you don't violate the three-revert rule—should your behavior indicate that you intend to continue reverting repeatedly. Snooganssnoogans (talk) 14:05, 27 February 2019 (UTC)
- User:Snooganssnoogans, while you do a lot of good editing this problem with you misrepresenting what's in sources is unfortunately not new. In this case you have repeatedly reverted to "In October 2017, the channel said without any evidence that a "report" had been published which showed "U.K. Crime Rises 13% Annually Amid Spread of Radical Islamic Terror"." Not only does the source not say "without any evidence", it says the Office of National Statistics (ONS) included statistics on offenses recorded by police in the 12 months ending in June 2017 showing that between July 2016 and June 2017, police recorded a total of 5,156,928 offenses in England and Wales, an increase of 583,782 offenses (12.77 percent) from the number recorded between July 2015 and June 2016, which was 4,573,146. Please stop misrepresenting what is in sources. There should be no place for dishonesty and POV pushing on Wikipedia. FloridaArmy (talk) 14:13, 27 February 2019 (UTC)
- I suggest you actually read the sources (and this is certainly not the first instance where you fail to do so). No one is disputing that crime increased. What's entirely false is that crime increase has any connection to islamic terror. Snooganssnoogans (talk) 14:17, 27 February 2019 (UTC)

- User:SamHolt6 what subject are the numerous cited sources about? FloridaArmy (talk) 22:33, 28 February 2019 (UTC)
- @FloridaArmy: the sources cited are indeed about the brewery in question; however, the same sources do not convince me the subject meets WP:NCORP as none are in-depth enough to establish the subject's notability. For example, NCORP is clear that routine business announcements (such as announcements about a business moving to a new locale) are not detailed enough to confer the needed notability on a subject. Add to that the citing of two blogs (not WP:RS), the (to my counting) four broken links, the fact all of the coverage is highly regional (and thus treading on WP:GEOSCOPE), and the previous, NCORP-based AfD outcome lead me to decline the article at this time. Ways to improve Special Secretariat for Policies to Promote Racial Equality
Hello, FloridaArmy,
Thanks for creating Special Secretariat for Policies to Promote Racial Equality! I edit here too, under the username StraussInTheHouse and it's nice to meet you :-)
I wanted to let you know that I have tagged the page as having some issues to fix, as a part of our page curation process and note that:-
Hi, just leaving a note about this article that I've reviewed, most of the sources seem to refer to the NCPRE which advises the SSPPRE.
The tags can be removed by you or another editor once the issues they mention are addressed. If you have questions, leave a comment here and prepend it with {{Re|StraussInTheHouse}}
. And, don't forget to sign your reply with ~~~~

Milowent • hasspoken 21:03, 4 March 2019 (UTC)- LOL, this one is a bit of a pickle. Emma Bell Clifton was Wallace's spouse, and the screenwriter. Apparenly their daughter Emma was the actress. Have cleaned it a bit but have a crack. Daughter was married (for a time?) to a Bucci.--Milowent • hasspoken 21:24, 4 March 2019 (UTC)
- User:Milowent, hmmmmm. Sorry about the confusion. According to IMDb, which I realize is not a reliable source, Emma Bell Clifton was an actress and screenwriter who went by Emma Bell. And her daughter seems to have gone by Emma Clifton. Do we know when they were married? Did they continue to use maiden names on screen? FloridaArmy (talk) 22:23, 4 March 2019 (UTC)
- No worries, the confusion arises from the source materials, some of which are also confused on the matter. There are actually separate IMDB entries for the mother (Emma Bell Clifton)[1] and daughter (Emma Clifton)[2] but they are not immediately obvious as different people. I would guess the daugther was born in the mid-1890s, so if she was around 20 when the 1914 film with Chaplin came out, that's totally plausible. If the mother was a film actress, I'm not sure, but the short obits I found just reference her being a screenwriter. The daughter was married to Marcello Bucci by the time of her mother's death, and then divorced him in 1933. I'll see if I can't find more on the daughter.--Milowent • hasspoken 22:39, 4 March 2019 (UTC)

Voceditenore (talk) 13:35, 6 March 2019 (UTC)- Hi FloridaArmy. Me again. You have created hundreds of successful articles and have extended autoconfirmed user rights. You do not need to go through the AfC process unless you are writing on a topic in which you have a conflict of interest. That is clearly not the case with this one, and I would imagine with most if not all of the articles you have created. The AfC process is very dicey. Many of the reviewers don't have a clue about notability guidelines for more niche topics like 19th century publishers, and they aren't good at evaluating sources either. I'd suggest you simply draft the article in your own user space, and when you think it's ready move it directly into article space yourself. Best wishes, Voceditenore (talk) 14:37, 6 March 2019 (UTC)
- Thanks User:Voceditenore!!! Unfortunately, I have an editing restriction requiring me to go through the arduouss AfD process. I was punished for creating to many short stubs on notable topics. Also banned from Afd which is sad because I helped save a lot of notable entries. Craziness, but it is what it is. FloridaArmy (talk) 16:26, 6 March 2019 (UTC)
- It might be time to appeal that restriction, my overall opinion is the vast majority of your articles while not Michael Jackson style notability is filling in several important areas that are needed. Hell in a Bucket (talk) 17:00, 6 March 2019 (UTC)
- Maybe. The issue was that I created a stub when I came across a notable subject. Apparently the consensus is now that entries have to be worked up before they are allowed in mainspace. FloridaArmy (talk) 17:03, 6 March 2019 (UTC)
- Ah, I've just read the background to your editing restriction at ANI. The restriction was probably a good idea at the time. For better or worse, it is an increasing trend on Wikipedia to restrict editors who are producing large quantities of problematic stubs and then more or less walking away from them to go on to another one. I know of several cases like this. One editor was even site-banned for it, but in that case it had been going on for 7 years. Anyhow, if you do need advice or evaluation on any of your drafts, just give me a shout. In a few months, you might want to consider appealing the restriction as Hell in a Bucket suggests. Best wishes, Voceditenore (talk) 17:10, 6 March 2019 (UTC)
- Will do. Thanks. I view the absence of an entry on a notable subject as more of a problem than an "incomplete" stub, but indeed the consensus seems to have moved in a direction requiring substantial workup. Draft:James Ramsey Murray needs help if he interests you. Thanks again. Take care. FloridaArmy (talk) 17:19, 6 March 2019 (UTC)
- I've added a source with a lot of biographical information and formatted the other refs to make them clearer. There should be plenty there to expand the article. In biographical articles. it's really important to make them biographies, i.e. write about the person's life rather than simply stated what they did. He sounds like a very interesting person. What do you think about AIs on Wikipedia?
Hi FloridaArmy,
It looks like you are an experienced New Page creator. Thanks for all your contributions! I saw your post on Teahouse, so I wanted to reach out. Are you interested in participating in a short interview to share your thoughts about how Wikipedia AIs should work? It would only take about 15-30 minutes over phone or video chat.
I am working in collaboration with Wikimedia Foundation staff to do this research, so if you decide to participate, your opinion could directly help build the future of Wikipedia. I’m personally contacting only a small handful of Wikipedia editors, so please let me know if you are interested or have any questions. Hope to talk to you soon!

- @FloridaArmy:@StartTerminal: I disagree with the rejection of this topic, and so have contributed to the article and moved it to the mainspace (at Nelson Evans) without going through the auspices of WP:AFC. If notability concerns persist, AfD is now the proper venue. SamHolt6 (talk) 06:38, 22 March 2019 (UTC)
- Wow! Great work. Thanks, User:SamHolt6. FloridaArmy (talk) 10:31, 22 March 2019 (UTC)
We generally don't create articles for mispellings, and this is almost certainly one. There's on Olinka. It could refer to Olin, Poland, river Volyňka in Czech Republic, island and the town of Wolin, or who knows what. It's ok to add such a placename to a Wikipedia article, with a footnote saying it is a mispelling. But again, mispellings don't warrant articles. --Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| reply here 10:33, 22 March 2019 (UTC)
