Welcome to Wikipedia, Googlechrome! I am Elipongo and have been editing Wikipedia for quite some time. I just wanted to say hi and welcome you to Wikipedia! If you have any questions, feel free to leave me a message on my talk page or by typing {{helpme}} at the bottom of this page. I love to help new users, so don't be afraid to leave a message! I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Oh yeah, I almost forgot, when you post on talk pages you should sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); that should automatically produce your username and the date after your post. Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia!

I hope not to seem unfriendly or make you feel unwelcome, but I noticed your username, and I am concerned that it might not meet Wikipedia's username policy for the following reason: It's the name of a company or product. After you look over that policy, could we discuss that concern here?

I'd appreciate learning your own views, for instance your reasons for wanting this particular name, and what alternative username you might accept that avoids raising this concern.

Proposed deletion of Baptist Centre

[edit]

A proposed deletion template has been added to the article Baptist Centre, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised because even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. Welcome to Wikipedia. It might not have been your intention, but your recent edit removed content from Template:MTRStations. When removing text, please specify a reason in the edit summary and discuss edits that are likely to be controversial on the article's talk page. If this was a mistake, don't worry; the text has been restored, as you can see from the page history. Template:Northern Ireland Office

[edit]

Just wondering if there was a reason why you changed the formatting on Template:Northern Ireland Office? Policy is to keep it the same unless a specific consensus is reached to change all the template in a particular area to a new colour scheme. Has this happened with Ireland-related templates somewhere that I've missed? ninety:one 21:50, 13 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Baptist churches in NI

[edit]

Hi Chromenano, as you probably realise your Baptist Churches in NI are being deleted as none of the articles have any content and are only redirects (very annoying for readers looking for actual info on the church in question). If you have the info on Baptist churches in NI why not put it together into a single List of Baptist Churches in Northern Ireland article which would be suitable and not get deleted. Baptist Churches in Ireland

[edit]

Hello, I've come across your work in this subject area after checking into the category that is up for deletion, and discovering the extensive list of redirects you've assembled at List of Association of Baptist Churches in Ireland churches. The problem is that all of these redirects are to the same article, Association of Baptist Churches in Ireland, which has, in fact, no information about any of those churches. It appears that you may have some fundamental misconceptions about the proper use & function of Wikipedia articles, categories, redirects, etc. I am sure your intentions are good, but please be kind enough to hold off creating any further redirects, categories, etc. for the time being -- at least until you have a better understanding of what you're doing. Thank you, Kindest regards, Cgingold (talk) 23:33, 19 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. I have to say I agree with the two comments immediately above. I've had to go through and delete the categories from these pages. It looks like you had templates placed on the pages as well, and those have been removed, but those who removed them didn't also remove the categories. For now, I think keeping the redirects is fine, and I'm not going to propose that they be deleted, but we generally don't place categories on redirect pages, especially when the page being redirected to already contains that category. Just remember that when you create a redirect—you're done. You don't need to add any other information. If you'd like other information to be added, that's when you change the redirect page into a real article. Good Ol’factory (talk) 00:32, 20 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Proposed deletion of List of Association of Baptist Churches in Ireland churches

[edit]

A proposed deletion template has been added to the article List of Association of Baptist Churches in Ireland churches, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process because of the following concern:

A list of churches without references provided. Wikipedia is not an indiscriminate collection of information

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised because, even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. A tag has been placed on Clear Blue Water Conservatives requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about about a person, organization (band, club, company, etc.) or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. Orphaned non-free image (Image:IBClogo.jpg)

[edit]
⚠

Thanks for uploading Image:IBClogo.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Skier Dude (talk) 05:46, 7 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

File permission problem with File:ABC logo.png

[edit]
File Copyright problem
File Copyright problem

Thanks for uploading File:ABC logo.png. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file agreed to license it under the given license.

If you created this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. J Milburn (talk) 19:46, 11 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of Baptist Missions, and it appears to include a substantial copy of http://ibaptistmissions.org/ibaptistmissions/projects.asp. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material; such additions will be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. See our copyright policy for further details.

This message was placed automatically, and it is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. Hello. Concerning your contribution, Baptist Missions, please note that Wikipedia cannot accept copyrighted text or images obtained from other web sites or printed material, without the permission of the author(s). This article or image appears to be a direct copy from http://ibaptistmissions.org/ibaptistmissions/projects.asp. As a copyright violation, Baptist Missions appears to qualify for deletion under the speedy deletion criteria. Baptist Missions has been tagged for deletion, and may have been deleted by the time you see this message.

If you believe that the article or image is not a copyright violation, or if you have permission from the copyright holder to release the content freely under the Creative Commons Attribution/Share-Alike License (CC-BY-SA) then you should do one of the following:

However, for textual content, you may simply consider rewriting the content in your own words. While we appreciate contributions, we must require all contributors to understand and comply with our copyright policy. Wikipedia takes copyright concerns very seriously, and persistent violators will be blocked from editing. Thank you.

P.S.: I'll note that you have only made minor and mostly cosmetic/syntax changes, so it's still a copyright violation. Calton | Talk 16:21, 24 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Scotch-Irish Presbyterians and Baptists

[edit]

Hello. I reverted your recent change to Scotch-Irish American. I understand the logic behind the changes you made, but from a historical perspective, the generic terms "Presbyterian" and "Baptist" work better. The Scotch-Irish came to America in the 1700s, and the Presbyterian Church in Ireland was not formed as an organization until 1840. The Scotch-Irish were not Baptists in Ireland, so the Association of Baptist Churches in Ireland is inappropriate. They did not become mostly Baptists and Methodists until the 1800s, after many generations in America. By the way, I find your interests, well, interesting. I wasn't aware that Baptists had much of a presence in Ireland. Thanks for the education. Eastcote (talk) 22:40, 31 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion nomination of articles

[edit]

A tag has been placed on Alan Baird, Edwin Ewart, Ken Scott (academic), Maurice Dowling, Nigel Younge, and List of Baptist Missions mission partners, requesting that they be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion (for the academics), because the articles appear to be about people, but they do not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for biographies. You may also wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles - see the Article Wizard.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Non-free use disputed for File:Arlene_Foster_2010.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Arlene_Foster_2010.jpg. Unfortunately, I think that you have not provided a proper rationale for using this image under "fair use". Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Non-free use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page. Note that the image description page must include the exact name or a link to each article the image is used in and a separate rationale for each one. (If a link is used, automated processes may improperly add the related tag to the image. Please change the fair use template to refer to the exact name, if you see this warning.)

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted after seven days according to our Criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Sherool (talk) 09:21, 12 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Architecture

Hello Chromenano,

Our paths haven't crossed, but I've traced you through a number of (rather good!) edits about Northern Ireland. I was wondering if you knew anything about the Architecture of Northern Ireland, and, if so, if you'd be willing and able to put a couple of paragraphs together at a test page for a revamped architecture of the United Kingdom. This is found at User:Jza84/Sandbox3. If not, do you know of a suitably strong source for me to look at?

Please do not make statements attacking people or groups of people. Wikipedia has a strict policy against personal attacks. Attack pages and images are not tolerated by Wikipedia and are speedily deleted. Users who continue to create or repost such pages and images in violation of our biographies of living persons policy will be blocked from editing Wikipedia. Thank you.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag - if no such tag exists then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hangon tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Template:Detini has been nominated for deletion. You are invited to comment on the discussion at the template's entry on the Templates for discussion page. Bulwersator (talk) 07:51, 13 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on Template:Detini requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section T3 of the criteria for speedy deletion because it is a deprecated or orphaned template. After seven days, if it is still unused and the speedy deletion tag has not been removed, the template will be deleted.

If the template is intended to be substituted, please feel free to remove the speedy deletion tag and please consider putting a note on the template's page indicating that it must be substituted so as to avoid any future mistakes (<noinclude>{{substituted}}</noinclude>).

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, contest the deletion by visiting the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. Bulwersator (talk) 09:16, 22 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. Europe 10,000 Challenge invite

[edit]

Hi. The Wikipedia:WikiProject Europe/The 10,000 Challenge has recently started, based on the UK/Ireland Wikipedia:The 10,000 Challenge. The idea is not to record every minor edit, but to create a momentum to motivate editors to produce good content improvements and creations and inspire people to work on more countries than they might otherwise work on. There's also the possibility of establishing smaller country or regional challenges for places like Germany, Italy, the Benelux countries, Iberian Peninsula, Romania, Slovenia etc, much like Wikipedia:The 1000 Challenge (Nordic). For this to really work we need diversity and exciting content and editors from a broad range of countries regularly contributing. If you would like to see masses of articles being improved for Europe and your specialist country like Wikipedia:WikiProject Africa/The Africa Destubathon, sign up today and once the challenge starts a contest can be organized. This is a way we can target every country of Europe, and steadily vastly improve the encyclopedia. We need numbers to make this work so consider signing up as a participant and also sign under any country sub challenge on the page that you might contribute to! Thank you. --Ser Amantio di NicolaoChe dicono a Signa?Lo dicono a Signa. 02:47, 6 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]
