Reference tags

Hi. Thanks for all your hard work in tagging articles where additional or complete referencing is needed. I did want to direct your attention to guidelines for use in most reference needed templates that suggest that the usual practice is to place them at the top of the article unless the template is for a specific section concerned. It's easier to see, and gets more attention than when placed at the bottom. I happened to notice this when I was looking at articles for members of the Monkees. In any case, thanks! Rudget!

Dear Longhair, my sincere thanks for your support in my second request for adminship, which ended with 113 supports, 11 opposes, and 4 neutral. I would especially like to thank my admin coach and nominator, Rlevse and Ryan Postlethwaite who in addition to Ioeth all inspired me to run for a second candidacy. I would also like to make a special mention to Phoenix-wiki, Dihyrdogen Monoxide and OhanaUnited who all offered to do co-nominations, but I unfortunately had to decline. I had all these funny ideas that it would fail again, and I was prepared for the worst, but at least it showed that the community really does have something other places don't. Who would have though Gmail would have been so effective? 32 emails in one week! (Even if it does classify some as junk :P) I'm glad that I've been appointed after a nail biting and some might call, decision changing RFA, but if you ever need anything, just get in touch. A favour

I wonder if you (or anyone else reading this) would mind looking at Template:WikiProject Cricket and providing some advice. There's two issues.

1. A project member has added a "Bottom-importance" to the code and created the respective categories. The rationale for this is good, but is it possible for the bot which updates the log and statistics tables to be changed to cope with this? If not, I'd guess we need to go back to top, high, mid and low.
2. Is a "List-Class" able to be added? And if so, would you mind.

As it is such a new thing it's not like there is a ton of established resources on the topic. I don't think either of them are "spam" as in inappropriate or indiscriminately-placed links.

I added them because it is a new topic that explicitly invites participation from all citizens. As the official site is static, people who come to Wikipedia are likely to be looking for ways to participate. Those links bother offer ways of participating.

Message, then

I recieved a message saying that my change of the article of Randle McMurphy was not constructive and that if I continued I would be banned. I added in that McMurphy tried to rape Nurse Ratched and tore off her clothes to show that she was not a machine but in fact very much human and as vulnerable as the rest of us. If you've read the book and disagree with my interpretation, i would be more than happy to discuss it, but as it is, this is the way that the book portrays this event, and i do not appreciate being told i will be banned if i continue in this fashion, which i can only take to mean that if i continue to make posts that are relevant and completely true, i will be banned. Please either take down your bot or script it so it is not as broad and does not message people who only trying to actually make Wikipedia a more correct and better place. Alright, that would be great. It doesn't happen in the film because the film dumbed down a lot of the book, but in the end, he definitely rips off part of her clothes and I believe he does begin to rape her or its implied that he does. Melpedia Link

Thanks for giving me an explanation on why you removed the page, but delisting it because it only has 5 users, is that a valid reason? It doesn't mention registered user base as one of the reasons for removing a wiki. I've put in maybe 200 hours into the wiki, including photographing many streets and locations in the Melbourne CBD. I'd like you to perhaps browse the site a bit more, in particular the the allpages link, you'll see that it is not a new wiki, nor is it that small. KiwiTallGuy (talk) 10:48, 3 March 2008 (UTC)

Ok, my bad, I've reread the external links article and perhaps it isn't of a criteria to be added yet. Strange, though, I have other wikis listed in Wikipedia that are of a smaller size then this site and I haven't added the links myself, other Wikipedia editors have. With this bot out of operation, a patch is in the works. Until that patch is reviewed and accepted by the developers, some options have been presented to use as workarounds: 1) Qui monobook (not available in Internet Explorer); 2) User:Hersfold/StatusTemplate; 3) Manually updating User:StatusBot/Status/USERNAME; or 4) Not worry about it and wait for the patch to go through, which hopefully won't take long. There are articles regarding Italy, and some people of the English Wikipedia insist on creating their own rules and ideas. Is there a way we can encourage or force the English Wikipedia to follow the Italian Wikipedia? There is no sense in English speakers coming up with their own ideas. Italy is officially classified in certain groups of regions by the Italian National Institute of Statistics (ISTAT). However, certain people (I think Italian-Americans with a certain bias or antiquated mentality) seem to want to group Italian regions according to their own parochial beliefs of what their Italian immigrant grandparents thought 50 years ago and passed down the generations. This to me is wrong, and does not make any sense. You can see for yourself Southern Italy, all you must do is click in the left-hand column to the version in "italiano" Mezzogiorno and you can see how the English version is all wrong. Even if you do not understand Italian, you can see by looking at the MAPS. Sicily and Sardinia are not southern Italy, they're Insular (Islander) Italy. What to do? Should I change the English article to make it right? Do we make a vote? The individuals writing the English Wikipedia articles about Italy are very thick-headed and do not like to agree. They have an ancient Roman Empire/Fascist Italian imperialistic bias. They're out of touch with history and reality (re: current Italian Wikipedia articles, current Italian regional classifications). Only the appeal from the original trial was published anywhere, and even then only in the Supreme Court's collection of unreported judgments. As far as I can tell the two trials weren't published anywhere. Trophy Manager issue I'm sorry to be writing this on your page, but I don't know how else to PM you. I realize that my editing on the Hat Trick page was uncalled for but I am getting tired of noone addressing our issue. Trophy Manager is an online game just like Hat Trick and to prove that I've written twice on that page (Trophy Manager), but after the original page had been deleted, so were my comments. To keep things simple, here is a comparison between Hat Trick and Trophy Manager: HAT TRICK - 965,000 users, 122 countries, season 34, optional membership for 30 USD per year, etc. TROPHY MANAGER - 100,000 users, 124 countries, season 11, optional membership for 29 EUR per year, etc. I do not see how anyone could possibly have such double standards as to allow one but not the other to be mentioned on Wikipedia. I am obviously not very happy how the complaint system works here, either, cause I've read all of the Deletion, Undeletion, Mediation and such pages here but basically to get someone to really address this issue is apparently impossible. If anyone's willing to do that, please, my e-mail is joemoe66@yahoo.com, please advise exactly how and by writing to whom we should complain for this blatant ignoring of 100,000 users who would just like to have their Trophy Manager Wikipedia page back.
