The article has been unreferenced since 2010, and currently has a total length of 6 words. I am unable to find evidence the subject has any coverage to meet WP:GNG, or is legally recognized per WP:GEOLAND. ResonantDistortion 21:29, 2 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

This article has been unsourced since 2008. After looking it up, I couldn't find anything about it from reliable sources. Some of its products are mentioned, but there really isn't any significant coverage; it doesn't meet WP:GNG. That Tired TarantulaBurrow 21:27, 2 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Fails notability and significant coverage criteria. This is a tennis player who has never won a WTA Tour level title or even got close, never reached a Grand Slam tournament main draw and the few citations on the page are merely bog standard stat profiles. There is no significant coverage shown. I did PROD this but apparently that has been done before and challenged hence I'm going this route now. Shrug02 (talk) 21:15, 2 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Received little coverage up until their death, which was hardly notable in of itself (a routine euthanization). Almost all content of note is either ultimately unimportant or can be merged into New York State Department of Environmental Conservation. This village pump discussion states that social media following doesn't factor into whether someone was notable or not. Or, in this case, a squirrel that lived, got a social media following, died, and was then the subject of media sensationalism and political chatter. Fails WP:GNG.

I was able to find the following reviews from Hardcore Gaming 101 (English), PC Player (German), PC Player (German; again), PC Gamer (Polish), PC Gamer (Polish; again), OK PC Gamer (Spanish), and Giochi Per Il Mio Computer (Italian). That might sound like quite a bit of reviews, but the only reviews that spend more than a paragraph reviewing Quiver are the Hardcore Gaming 101 and the PC Player reviews, and the content of those reviews would make for a barebones article.

I can't find anything else, especially since the game's entries on Metacritic, IGN, and Absolute Games are empty. As such, this game does not have the significant coverage from multiple sources required to be notable. Lazman321 (talk) 19:59, 2 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

  • I remain of the view that a redirect is the most suitable outcome. GiantSnowman 08:39, 26 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep - I'm finding a lot of references to that season's competition, particularly in the BNA archive, which I don't have access to. There's less in Newspapers.com because of it's limited UK collection - but I've added 8 references to the article and expanded, from 8 different publications. Can User:GiantSnowman review these? There seems to be plenty of further references available to fully document the season, some surprisingly detailed! Nfitz (talk) 21:58, 26 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
None of them look like anything other than results or routine news. GiantSnowman 09:41, 27 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I didn't link any results. These were all text - admittedly one was very brief. Routine refers to sports scores. And this is more than that. Also, someone needs to look at the BNA search results. Most importantly - from your edit history, you spent no more than 30 seconds reviewing 8 references. Your original vote was equally as fast. I really think that not much weight should be given to this redirect opinion. Nfitz (talk) 19:16, 27 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I got temporary BNA access, so in recognition that many of the references are local, I added 5 more references from other parts of England. Also, I added a second reference from the The Staffordshire Sentinel that is surprisingly detailed, giving a background of the competition before the final match was to be played. So that should sort any remaining GNG concerns. Nfitz (talk) 00:55, 28 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
  • Weak keep per improvements to the article, I'd probably like to see a little more depth, but it's much better, thank you Nfitz. Govvy (talk) 09:51, 28 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete yes there have been improvements to the sourcing, but I do not see evidence of WP:SUSTAINED coverage. All of the BNA articles listed are from the time of the matches, when of course there will be some coverage. Joseph2302 (talk) 10:54, 28 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
  • Comment @Joseph2302: Is a topic talked about overtime? Well, the clubs that played in this have the ability to mention it in their match day programmes when they play each other again. That does constitute what you call primary sourcing. However, this in essence is really a historical record on the competition. Having on wikipedia can also give the ability for people to find it and out source it. However, What do you want wikipedia to do? There are policies upon policies on wikipedia, but if you don't want to keep a historic record on wikipedia, then whats wikipedia for? An encyclopaedic archive of historical events and information? This is one of those things, sigcov, sustained are policies, guidelines to adhere, sometimes we do need to look beyond that. But hey, that's my ... two cents. Regards. If this crash were to happen in the UK or US, there'd be massive national and international media coverage, and annual observance days would be covered by local media for lasting impact, not to mention likely changes in regulations. Pure Country (film series) (edit | talk | history | protect | delete | links | watch | logs | views) – (View AfD | edits since nomination)
(Find sources: Google (books · news · scholar · free images · WP refs· FENS · JSTOR · TWL)

I can not find much to apply WP:SIGCOV (specifically, that the sources " addresses the topic directly and in detail") for this group of films. While MOS:FILMSERIES suggests "A film series article should only be created when the series encompasses at least three films., I feel like it fails the other half that complies with WP:SIGCOV which suggests "an article would also benefit from coverage that discusses the series as a whole, or at least commentators who compare later films to their predecessors".

On my own research to try to expand the article to satisfy this, I found a surprising amount of information for the first film from academic and news sources (via the Wikipedia Library and Google Scholar), but little to nothing on even on the second two films on their own let alone the films as a series outside an interview with the writer of the first two films, who said they were unrelated films with the title Pure Country applied to them later after the scripts were completed. Currently, the article is a hodge- podge of sources just comparing financial gross, rotten tomatoes reception, with no third party source discussing such variables. For this reason, I think this article feels like a combination of WP:SYNTH (Do not combine material from multiple sources to state or imply a conclusion not explicitly stated by any of the sources.) and lacks the content for significant coverage. Andrzejbanas (talk) 15:49, 25 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Comment: Forgot to bring this up in the original suggestion, in previous similarly Xfd on film series articles, the suggestion to re-apply the article as a WP:SETINDEX could apply. While that has not gone through, I'm struggling to see how this would be different from a disambiguation page, that would easily be covered by opening paragraphs in any of the film articles as there is little discussion of these films as series, let alone confusion between the other two works. Andrzejbanas (talk) 15:53, 25 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

  • Keep: as a WP:SETINDEX, indeed (:D). -My, oh my! (Mushy Yank) 19:04, 25 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep: Seriously, there is traffic to this article. It is both notable and has significant coverage. There are details regarding it and its installments for example at The Numbers, Wide Open Country, and Rolling Stone.--DisneyMetalhead (talk) 02:57, 26 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
    • Comment correct me if I'm wrong, but we don't consider traffic to articles through deletion policy. Wide Open Country appears to be the closest to commentary here as the series as a whole, that's one source discussing it as a series. Not sure if the Numbers one is really in depth, and I can't get access from that Rolling Stones article, but without pulling material from the source, it appears to be just about the first article. @DisneyMetalhead:, if you could provide your three best sources as suggested by User:RoySmith/Three best sources, I think the article may not be withing a state of repair. If you have access to the RS article, using it to expand the article with specifics from it would probably assist a lot as well. Andrzejbanas (talk) 07:34, 26 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
COMMENT Reply - I will add those 3 resources. The Rolling Stone one is equally detailed as the Wide Open Country source. The Numbers is a reliable and detailed source for the film series (on the financial/monetary side of things). DisneyMetalhead (talk) 15:47, 26 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
DMh, it's not about if the sources are reliable or not which is not what I said or asked for , it's whether or not that have enough discussion of the topic on hand to create an article based on them. The Rolling Stone one and Wide open Country one seem to be somewhat more in-depth, the numbers one may not be. That is the issue with WP:SIGCOV, not whether or not they are reliable sources. Andrzejbanas (talk) 17:38, 26 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Let me restate this -- I am not confused what you had stated, so let me clarify: there are more than 3 reliable and significant enough sources on the article. Another from Wide Open Country details the film's growth into a "franchise" including a stage play, meanwhile the soundtrack is one of the greatest selling country albums of all time. That being said, The Numbers is definitely is in line with WP:SIGCOV (on the financial side of things). DisneyMetalhead (talk) 02:09, 30 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
  • Comment: The original status of the scripts (related vs unrelated) has no impact on whether or not a movie is part of an official series. All that matters in that regard is that the movies were officially released as part of a series. FILMSERIES doesn't have any exclusionary language as far as that goes. If you do wish to argue that this does fail FILMSERIES because they were not originally written as sequels then that needs to be discussed elsewhere because that could have some major impact in the future. For example, one could then argue that Prom Night 2 isn't part of the Prom Night series because it was written and filmed as a standalone film - despite being one of the more well-known films of the series. And by extension, part 3, since it's a direct parody of part 2.
The focus here should be notability. FILMSERIES implies (but to be fair doesn't outright state) that either at least two of the three films will be notable or that there's enough coverage of the series to overcome the lack of individual notability. If two or more of the films are notable, then this would presumably be a notable film series. If only one of the films is notable then you need to show where there's enough coverage for the series to justify having a separate article with this much information. Offhand the third film doesn't seem notable and the second film article has coverage issues as well. Doesn't mean that they're not notable, just that it does seem like it's just the first film that's notable.
To be clear, I'm not making an argument for or against notability. Just that it's not really a great idea to use FILMSERIES as an argument against retention in this situation because FILMSERIES as it stands currently doesn't have any explicit requirements other than the series has to have at least three films AND/OR one other form of media (comic, game, etc). It's a style guideline rather than a notability guideline. ReaderofthePack(formerly Tokyogirl79) (。◕‿◕。) 15:54, 31 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Comment: Agree on that. I recently expanded the article Film franchise, most film series for the earlier parts of the 20th century have very vague or limited continuing narratives. Most are connected by themes or characters which may return here or there. I know I brought it up but want to clarify it's not for a doubt that it exists as a series. it's more for whether there is unique coverage of the series as a whole as you stated. Apologies if i was not clear. Andrzejbanas (talk) 16:10, 31 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Even then part of this is going to be establishing these things:
  1. That at least two out of the three films are not independently notable
  2. That there is not enough collective coverage to justify a series article.
  3. That there are no other aspects that could be added to a series article (soundtrack, comics, games, stage productions, etc).
  4. That in the presence of sources for the three films and other aspects, there is no benefit to having a series page.
I don't want to overwhelm this page, so I'll go more into these aspects in the talk page of this AfD. Offhand I'll just say that we had a similar discussion about book series earlier this year and it was generally accepted that coverage for individual series entries counted towards notability for the overall series, as the series was made up of the books and the books were the series. I'll go into that more on the talk page, though.
I'll also note that just listing box office numbers and the amount of reviews isn't considered synthesis unless they're using that data to make a conclusion. Listing the overall box office numbers is actually pretty common in series and franchise pages. Halloween (franchise) has this information, for example, as does Scream (franchise) and the individual pages for the Star Wars trilogies. It would only be considered synthesis if they were to have something like say "The box office dropped once they did X or Y" or "This film is better because it earned more" or something else that wasn't stated in the source material. In this case, the sources (which I presume are in the main film articles) would explicitly state these numbers so listing them out side by side isn't inherently synthesis and there's precedent to having this as a staple in other film series/franchise articles.
Again, I'm not arguing for or against inclusion, just that it needs to be done carefully. ReaderofthePack(formerly Tokyogirl79) (。◕‿◕。) 19:54, 31 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Ni these are great points, and I'm glad you brought them up. There is no real MOS on film or franchises, so I'm hesitant to add thing like box office discussion if it's not really brought in conversation by a third party. Sure there is box office mojo, and since the films you mentioned are record breakers, there will obviously be discussion. I'm not sure how relevant it is for topics where we don't even have a gross for a third film, but enat to make assumptions about world wide gross of a series? Andrzejbanas (talk) 22:49, 31 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Good question! When it comes to calculations, basic addition is considered to be non-synth/OR. I had that question myself in the past, honestly. Where it would get a bit wiggly would be in cases where we were applying (X + 5 = 9) and then trying to solve for X or calculating future numbers based on the growth of past numbers. In any case, let's discuss this on the talk page since it's not really notability based per se. ReaderofthePack(formerly Tokyogirl79) (。◕‿◕。) 12:54, 1 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
On a side note, I've started looking for sources for the individual articles and I'm actually now starting to lean towards a series page being reasonable here. The second film has enough sourcing to pass NFILM now and I'm starting to look at sourcing for the stage musical - I think that might actually be independently notable of the first film and could warrant its own article as well.
Looking at the existing articles, it looks like the first and second films are notable. The soundtrack for the first film also appears to be independently notable and warrants its own article. The stage production might actually warrant its own page and if so, that would make four pages for the series. Three pages would likely be enough to justify a series page, but four definitely so. ReaderofthePack(formerly Tokyogirl79) (。◕‿◕。) 13:34, 1 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I'll trust your research on the second. I do think it's the third one that's the biggest struggle at the moment. It does look like some films might be to illustrate as a series than as individual works just due to a lack of information. Similar to works like Hanzo the Razor. Andrzejbanas (talk) 16:52, 1 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I'm extremely surprised to report that the third film very, VERY technically passes NFILM. It's pretty much a stub with a plot synopsis and is unlikely to have the chance to expand, so I think it would be best if it were merged into the main series page, honestly. ReaderofthePack(formerly Tokyogirl79) (。◕‿◕。) 22:21, 1 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Television station keep meets WP:NTV and WP:GNG, as per WayKurat's argument. This is one of the oldest regional TV stations in the Philippines (outside Metro Manila), and it is one of the major originating TV stations of GMA Network in Cebu City. This rule strikes me as extremely technically specific and of interest to very few people. I can find references to it in only three sources:

  • Y. Ronen (1991), Phys. Rev. C 44, R594(R)
  • O. Tavares, L. Roberto, and E. Medeiros (2007), Phys. Scr. 76, 375
  • O. Tavares and E. Medeiros (2012), Phys. Scr. 86, 015201

The article has only three sentences, and I don't see what more could be added about the topic given its sparse coverage in the sources (in fact, much of the aricle seems to be wrong; as far as I can tell, Ronen's golden rule is much simpler and should be described in just one sentence). Thus, I've added a description of the rule to Cluster decay and propose that this article be deleted. Justin Kunimune (talk) 14:23, 2 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Although the text provides a brief overview of her career and projects, it lacks significant coverage from independent, reliable sources, which is essential for establishing notability in an encyclopedic context. The information presented largely relies on self-reported achievements and lacks third-party validation, which raises concerns about the reliability of the content. Furthermore, while Wei may have contributions in her field, there is insufficient evidence of widespread recognition or impact, particularly in a competitive area such as food journalism. Her book, “Made in Taiwan,” is mentioned but has not been substantiated by notable reviews that would warrant an encyclopedic entry. In light of these deficiencies, the article could mislead readers into perceiving her as a figure of significant prominence, which she has not demonstrated through independent sources. Therefore, it is appropriate to remove this entry to uphold Wikipedia's standards for verifiable content and to prevent the dilution of the platform with non-notable subjects. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Atlantaborn (talkcontribs) 13:23, 2 November 2024 (UTC) Blocked sock. My first thoughts as a yachtsman were "Is there a yacht club on Hydra at all? It's a small island. ... And if there is, why isn't the club in Hydra port, the main port? Which by itself isn't big. ... And if the club was established in 1956, why don't I remember Axel Jensen or Leonard Cohen mentioning it?"

Kamini is a picturesque village at 37°20′52″N 23°27′26″E / 37.3479°N 23.4571°E / 37.3479; 23.4571,[1] about 1 kilometre (0.62 miles) west of Hydra port. Judging by photos, the small fishing harbour has only room for 25-30 boats in the 3–10 metres (9.8–32.8 ft) range. With a max. depth of c. 2 metres (6.6 ft)[2] the harbour would offer mooring to only the smallest visiting yachts. Which in reality I don't think it does.

Let's look at the sources. There are zero Gbook sources that mention Kamini Yacht Club. For a club that was founded in 1956, and has "secondary clubhouses in London, England and Cornwall, England for overseas members", that is inconceivable. ("Secondary clubhouse in Cornwall", yeah, right!) The article was created in August 2009. Doing a time-restricted Google search for web sources dated before 1 January 2009, there are zero hits. All other later hits are mere regurgitations of the article. (On a side note, the burgee looks like something from a kids' beach party, and IP 86.163.152.57 was about right when the reduced the stub to saying "The Kamini Yacht Club is not a yacht club." (diff).)

Most of the sources are unreliable (Behindwoods, Indiaglitz, Filmibeat) as per [6] per Wikipedia:WikiProject Film/Indian cinema task force. This siege, its relief and the evacuation of the population is covered in a short paragraph in the comprehensive two-volume US history of these wars, Balkan Battlegrounds. It doesn't include much of what is in the current paragraph headed Order of battle, and when summarised would amount to a few sentences at best. A Google Books search adds very little in terms of possible reliable sources, none of which constitute significant coverage. I could trim it down to just what the source does say, but the editor responsible has done this before, and therefore this is a classic WP:TNT candidate. Peacemaker67 (click to talk to me) 06:12, 2 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I should add that this was a minor action in the overall fighting for the Posavina region from March 1992 to January 1993, and might be mentioned in a larger article on those operations. But it is definitely not notable on its own. Peacemaker67 (click to talk to me) 08:44, 2 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Hello, i can add sources to this article if you let me. It will take a little bit of time because i am finding sources for another article Wynnsanity (talk) 09:14, 2 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
In my opinion you are not right. This is a sige and if we have siege of žepa and another smaller cities we should have for this also. Its not the minor action because a lot of civis were saved and both sides took heavy casulties. There are also not so much books about this war in english because nobody cares to be honest about balkans. I agree that is bad if we have only 1 english and 10 serb sources on english wiki but the other articles for other side also have just some tabloid blogs and they are not deleted or even marked as "bad sources", is it a coincidence? I would not say so
All the best Wynnsanity (talk) 09:23, 2 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
All you need is significant coverage in reliable sources. They don't have to be in English. telegraf.rs isn't a reliable source, neither are blogs, fora, local town news portals with no real editorial oversight, or fanboi websites. Most of the articles being created about the Balkan wars of the 90s at the moment are incredibly poorly sourced. Peacemaker67 (click to talk to me) 10:12, 2 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I totally agree that telegraph is not good source. Can you give me a day or two to find better? I think that they are very badly sources because people from that area dont write or talk about it much, its "taboo". Thanks Wynnsanity (talk) 10:18, 2 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Forbes lists her as the 16th, alphabetically, in a list of 50 most powerful women in Asia which explicitly says that it "is presented alphabetically and is not intended to be a ranking" (even if a Forbes India writer seems to misunderstand this). I corrected the statement in the "Recognition" section, but hadn't noticed that it was also misprepresented in the lead, which I have now corrected. The enthusiasm which some editors have for misrepresenting this listing makes one cautious about other claims, which should all be very carefully checked. PamD 13:06, 24 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

WP:TNT. Article created October 2024. Retrieval date on some sources showing 2019. It would just take a lot of time to go through each source. The supposed subject of this article is not mentioned in the comprehensive two-volume US history of the wars in the Balkans (Balkan Battlegrounds), and a Google Books search results in no hits. Even the village of Skabrnja isn't mentioned in BB. If this isn't a hoax, it is a non-notable firefight that hasn't been documented outside the village in which it allegedly occurred. It doesn't have significant coverage in reliable sources, and is therefore not notable and should be deleted. Peacemaker67 (click to talk to me) 05:51, 2 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

As far as I can tell from a Hebrew search, this isn’t notable. A few sources covered the same announcement from the Prime Minister’s office, but nothing else. The search in Hebrew is complicated by the literal meaning of ‘shira’ so I may have missed something, but I can’t see multiple reliable sources giving this in-depth coverage. I am unable to find any significant coverage of this locomotive in secondary sources. Only possible ATD I can think of is a redirect to Falk Archaeological District but that's not a great option as it isn't mentioned there. Trainsandotherthings (talk) 02:43, 2 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I’d like to weigh in on this discussion. I have witnessed users making pages for most of the steam locomotives that attended the Expo 86 event in British Columbia, including (but not limited to) a page for Canadian Pacific 1201, a draft for Great Western 51 (which appears have been deleted), drafts for both Best Friend of Charleston replicas (also presumably deleted), a page for Canadian Pacific 3 (also presumably deleted) and a page for MacMillan Bloedel & Powell River Ltd. 1077. This indicates that the users believed that all of those locomotives are significant purely for being at the event, and that certainly is not the case. I used to sort of participate in that by creating the Canadian National 1392 page, but I was in denial when I did that. Someone who likes train writing (talk) 21:24, 2 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Non-notable, short-lived rail maintenance spot on an abandoned minor railroad, not a "community". A few references could be found: [11], [12], [13], but these appear to be amateur blogs and/or trivial mentions, not significant, secondary coverage in RS. Previous AfD returned no consensus, based mostly on the argument that documentation of the place exists; however, I would argue the coverage is not significant and not reliable. I find that the NATH guideline is pretty conservative compared to the others at NSPORT, so it's worth trying multiple search engines if you can't find sources at one.
