Self reference on the Word Association game[edit]

Baseball diagram[edit]

That diagram with the "1st" and "2nd" was stolen from another article anyway. If you'd like to make one with either the traditional defensive abbreviations, or even the 1 through 9 that are used for scoring (such as the ones scorebooks and programs usually have), that would be great. Armando Galarraga[edit]

  • Thanks for the correction on Koufax's perfect game. I agree with you that there's no reason why a perfect game shouldn't have its own separate article, although from a practical standpoint, there are few such games that would need to be described separately from the pitcher himself. My view is that, to the extent that a pitcher is "honored" on Wikipedia, it is more of an honor to have his crowning achievement fully described within his article rather than to say nothing more than a sentence and "Full article: Perfect game of so-and-so". Koufax, like Cy Young, Catfish Hunter, and U.S. Senator Jim Bunning, was famous for more than a single game, so a spinoff article is appropriate. Generally, a game, whether it's part of the World Series or a record setting game, can be described within one paragraph and a link could be added. In this instance, I think that the nomination of the Galarraga article was silly, just somebody trying to make a point and wasting a lot of people's time in the process, but that happens all the time. Well, technically there was a discussion but the word association pages were not officially part of the nomination (one commenter said everything in sandbox space should go), were not tagged, and page authors were not notified. Nor were any of the previous discussions taken into account (commenters at the low participation mfd were not even made aware that it existed). This is why I initiated the DRV. P.P.S. The Seaway Trail marker is fair-use. As far as we've determined, it is under copyright from the group behind the trail designation. The old guidance from the Shields Department was to create PNGs only at a low resolution for copyright-protected markers, but SVG is actually fine so long as we don't display them larger than needed on the articles.   • I completed the Michigan Heritage Route signs, but no one has mentioned if they are PD or fair use, so I have not uploaded them yet. The colors are from the gifs, which I know can be unreliable, so change if you like.

They are PD. The GIFs are marked PD as MDOT has specifically stated, and I've logged in an OTRS ticket, that any highway markers they use are PD. You can copy the descriptions from the exiting GIFs here on enwp when you upload them to Commons, which would also copy the PD notice and OTRS ticket information. If you're up for it, File:NFSB marker.gif is the current GIF-format graphic for the National Forest Scenic Byway marker. It's PD as a work of the US Forest Service, hosted on Commons, and could use a SVG replacement. However, there is no rush, so if you have other projects, do them first by all means. Vectorization project[edit]

I was wonder if you could create an svg from a picture. I am no good at it, otherwise I would do it myself. This is the image. If possible, could you cut out the NB on the image such that if the green background color may be visible? I plan on using it as a template to recreate the file series in SVG and NB uses the same design, but with blue, green or black backgrounds. Mounting holes need not be included. Photos[edit]

I just saw your two-weeks-ago note to Smallbones about the Tunkhannock photo. Would you be at all able to help with getting photos in the region? Check the maps at User:Nyttend/Pennsylvania — thirteen Wyoming County municipalities don't have photos, and there are lots of unillustrated places in surrounding counties: Susquehanna, 26; Bradford, 27; Luzerne, 48; and Lackawanna, 23. Sullivan is fully illustrated, but it's one of just five counties statewide with a photo for each municipality. Smallbones and others of us have been trying to find photos for as many municipalities as possible, but we're still missing images for about 40% of them statewide, and any help you can provide (especially by getting new photos) would be quite appreciated. Some places don't have distinguished sites; for these, I'll typically try to get either a community building (e.g. a church or the municipal building) or simply a representative scene, which is typically a residential street in a borough or a residential street in a township village, or open countryside in a township or a borough that's largely rural. See Raccoon Township, Beaver County, Pennsylvania (scenery), Big Beaver, Pennsylvania (borough building), Wampum, Pennsylvania (commercial district), Marion Township, Beaver County, Pennsylvania (scenery), and Conway, Pennsylvania (typical residential neighborhood) for examples of what I mean. Just look for something that can serve as a symbol of the municipality, either because it's an important spot or because it's representative of a scene that's common in the municipality. List of NASCAR tracks[edit]

I was looking at IndyCar tracks as I got to wondering if there were any international races held. Indeed there are. I got to looking at NASCAR tracks and I wondered why the location are listed as such. I was thinking of changing it, but I thought to start a discussion on the talk page. I seen you brought this up years ago to no response. The IndyCar track list has the locations listed city, state or province, and country in that order. I understand why you started a discussion, but since there was no response, you should have been bold and changed it. It might seem odd that it's being brought up now.
