GDP graph
[edit]You kindly made a graph showing the GDP of India. It shows a "Hokey Stick" exponential shape which always results from plotting a compound growth rate on a linear Y axis. Compound growth rates are by definition exponential. I find that plotting exponential functions on a logarithmic Y axis is preferable as the angle of the line will yield the useful instantaneous growth rate, and helps prevent the casual observer jumping to the erroneous conclusion that something unprecedented is happening in the last data points.Nick Hill (talk) 22:34, 4 May 2013 (UTC)
- Okay, so you wanna say that it would be better if we interchange the x and y axes? Rishabh Tatiraju (talk) 09:19, 5 May 2013 (UTC)
- Hi. Economic data usually has a compounding function associated with it. Linear Y graphs are very bad when showing compound functions. Linear Y graphs lead casual observers to assume the function is changing in the final data points, where in fact there may be no or little change in the function. You have selected the correct data for the X and Y axes. Don't change that. Please match the scale on the Y axis to match the function you are plotting. In this case, use a log Y axis to match an exponential function. Ideally, when plotting rates of change (eg percentage rates over time) linear graphs are sensible. If showing the effect of the rate on a value, then logarithmic would tend to be the best choice. Nick Hill (talk) 09:26, 14 May 2013 (UTC)

Assistance
[edit]Rishabh, hi.
1. I need an independant opinion from you. I have uploaded some images on Rajdhani,Shatabdi & Janshatabdi pages however another user Abhishek191288 keeps removiing them as he 'thinks' they should not be there. Could you take a look at them & let me know what your opinion is?
2. 11010 Sinhgad Express's main page has been misspelled as Sinhagad Express? Could you help correct the spelling? Superfast1111 (talk) 05:12, 28 October 2012 (UTC)
No problem at all. Just wanted to get it sorted out. Did you look up the images i have put up on Rajdhani, Shatabdi & Janshatabdi pages? Would appreciate a few comments from you as another editor is questioning their presence on the article. Superfast1111 (talk) 10:30, 30 October 2012 (UTC)
- I did view the Rajdhani images, i would say if you can have a complete image of the train coach, it will be great. You are right about the image error there, but i would also say your image of just the board of the train will not be good enough. And be careful, Wikipedia takes edit warring seriously. Have a great time here.Rishabh Tatiraju (talk) 14:18, 30 October 2012 (UTC)
yes i did get a note of caution but it is hard to understand Abhishek's logic unless he has ever taken a ride on the Mumbai Rajdhani, August Kranti. he has even tried to undo the images of the Sinhagad & Pragati Express not to mention removing images on the mumbai suburban network. do me a favour,go to the page 'mulund railway station'. 3 images are from me (which were removed) & then there is another image. your comments on them? Superfast1111 (talk) 10:08, 6 November 2012 (UTC)
- I have edited the page. You can see the changes i have made there. Rishabh Tatiraju (talk) 12:49, 6 November 2012 (UTC)

Facebook Users by age graphic
[edit]hi Rishabh, I noticed you are credited as the author to this graphic of Facebook users by age

The source site doesn't seem to be active anymore, or shows an error message when I go to that link. I was wondering if you remember if this is information is for ALL users WORLDWIDE?
Also, since this information seems to be from 2010, I was wondering if you knew if there was more current information available somewhere? I've searched the internet, but can't find anything anywhere that is more current.
thanks so much for your help.

Hi Tatiraju.risabh, I'm HPD aka Himanis Das (the same boy who gave you a barnstar previous year for improving Cyclone Phailin article). Yes! Now as you already know that again after a year Cyclone Hudhud hits eastern India, I became happy to see that article and became very happy to see that you've uploaded images of that cyclonic storm and assigned them in that article. Thanks and this is another barnstar from me for your awesome work. Also please note that same as Phailin, Hudhud is also a very severe cyclonic storm, so it shouldn't be just "Cyclone Hudhud". HPD talk 12:36, 12 October 2014 (UTC) |
- Thank you for your edit, and thank you for recognizing my work. I promise i'll keep maintaining the article as much as possible. Rishabh Tatiraju (talk) 12:39, 12 October 2014 (UTC)
- Just a small thing, don't you think that in Hudhud article there are few references i.e 14, as compared to other cyclone articles? (Ex- Phailin has 54 references, Vongfong has 26 references). Shall we add some more references? HPD talk 12:48, 12 October 2014 (UTC)
- It is to be noted that the impact by Hudhud is fresh, we have only few news agencies providing new information. As we expand the article we can add many more citations. We need to add a few more in the met history section which i am extracting from the Gwydir tropical cyclone archives. They will be up soon. :) Rishabh Tatiraju (talk) 12:51, 12 October 2014 (UTC)
- Ok Thanks! I'll monitor the article frequently from now on and inform you if anything goes wrong. :) HPD talk 13:00, 12 October 2014 (UTC)

DYK for Bhopal: A Prayer for Rain
[edit]On 27 December 2014, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article Bhopal: A Prayer for Rain, which you recently created or substantially expanded. The fact was ... that although the shooting of the film based on "the worst industrial disaster" was completed in 2009, it was not released until 2014? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Bhopal: A Prayer for Rain. You are welcome to check how many page hits the article got while on the front page (here's how, live views, daily totals), and it may be added to the statistics page if the total is over 5,000. Finally, if you know of an interesting fact from another recently created article, then please feel free to suggest it on the Did you know talk page. |

Hurricane infobox for ARB 03
[edit]Pleas stop reverting my edits and change the 'code' for the current infobox for ARB 03. This is the real version 'code' nowadays and I hope you learn now. Also for the distance, please follow JTWC instead of IMD. We only follow IMD for coordinates, time, possibly pressure and obviously 3-min winds. I hope you understand now. Typhoon2013 (talk) 06:18, 11 October 2015 (UTC)
- Aren't we using IMD for all data except for 1 min Winds? Since they are the official met agency for the basin it seemed valid to use their distances. Is the convert template not allowed in the infobox? If not I'll refrain using it from now on. Thanks.
- Ok so I mostly edit in the 2015 PTS article (Western pacific typhoon) and in current infoboxes, we mostly follow JTWC coordinates. Otherwise for this scenario, we can add both the JTWC and the IMD. However how many distances are said from the IMD? Is it 1 or 2? Also I'm not saying we are not allowed to use the convert template. It's just that no one is using it and it's better to use the normal one. To be honest, there have been many changes this year when it comes to these stuff. Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. About a map you uploaded on "List of Indian states by life expectancy at birth"
[edit]Hi, I just need some suggestions on Map you uploaded on this page "List of Indian states by life expectancy at birth", On the map part of Arunachal Pradesh was cut just like parts of Jammu and kashmir, and i know that part of Jammu & Kashmir is not in India so map shows in different colour, But Arunachl Pradesh is in India, why that part is cut and given same colour as part of Jammu and Kashmir.
If you give me permission i can edit part of Arunachal Pradesh because that is in India, and I don't want Chinese Diplomacy to show whole world that Arunachal Pradesh is not in India.
I am new to Wikipedia if you can give me advice it will be helpful.
Also I am having problem to upload it in here so can you see on Wikipedia page.
Thanks

- Hi Saurabh,
- Wikipedia, being a global website, is bound to be neutral when it comes to political situations like border disputes. Its not known by many that most of the landmass of the Indian state of Arunachal Pradesh is disputed between China and India. You can see this page if you wish to know more about this dispute. In order to comply with neutrality, the map is drawn such way. Rishabh Tatiraju (talk) 06:03, 15 December 2015 (UTC)
Thanks for your suggestions. Saurabh

[edit]Date format for North Indian ocean
[edit]Hi. If you may not know, the first system of the 2016 Nio season had formed, and I have seen that Meow said that "we use DMY format in this basin". But in previous years, or I should say all, the articles are used in MDY format. I know that you don't really edit that much in these basins but, what do you think? Typhoon2013 (talk) 03:54, 18 May 2016 (UTC)
- In my opinion, when using the complete date, DMY is preferred because we can avoid the comma separation of day and year. However, when writing the date without the year like we do in the storm summary text, MD seems to fit the context and is comfortable to read. Meow's claim might be based on the fact that in India we use DMY in our daily life. I myself have mostly used MD while writing storm summaries, and DMY when writing the complete date.Rishabh Tatiraju (talk) 08:50, 18 May 2016 (UTC)
- So you would prefer DMY to the Nio articles for now on? You can join in JR's talk page as I replied a similar message. Typhoon2013 (talk) 04:46, 19 May 2016 (UTC)

I'm thinking...
[edit]Hey I was thinking if me and you could help together to upgrade some 'North Indian ocean cyclone season' articles to a GA status, if fine for you. I chose you because you are pretty much the only guy who I know (more) and edits the Nio season articles the most. I am suggesting the articles from 2012-2015 to make it a GA because when I look at it, there are no mistakes, at least most are true information and there are no parts where it needs sourcing. But I like to start with the 2012 one first as it had a really late start. I am planning to start these by the end of next week. Typhoon2013 (talk) 07:48, 7 July 2016 (UTC)
- I'll be glad to work on it! However, I'll be out till 20 July and won't be able to access Wikipedia in the meantime. Let me know what is supposed to be done. Rishabh Tatiraju (talk) 10:44, 7 July 2016 (UTC)

Proposed deletion of K7 Total Security
[edit]The article K7 Total Security has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
- Non-notable product (see WP:PRODUCT) developed by non-notable company. Notability cleanup unresolved for 6 years.
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. FalconK (talk) 13:19, 3 October 2016 (UTC)
Asian 10,000 Challenge invite
[edit]Hi. The Wikipedia:WikiProject Asia/The 10,000 Challenge has recently started, based on the UK/Ireland Wikipedia:The 10,000 Challenge and Wikipedia:WikiProject Africa/The 10,000 Challenge. The idea is not to record every minor edit, but to create a momentum to motivate editors to produce good content improvements and creations and inspire people to work on more countries than they might otherwise work on. There's also the possibility of establishing smaller country or regional challenges for places like South East Asia, Japan/China or India etc, much like Wikipedia:The 1000 Challenge (Nordic). For this to really work we need diversity and exciting content and editors from a broad range of countries regularly contributing. At some stage we hope to run some contests to benefit Asian content, a destubathon perhaps, aimed at reducing the stub count would be a good place to start, based on the current Wikipedia:WikiProject Africa/The Africa Destubathon which has produced near 200 articles in just three days. If you would like to see this happening for Asia, and see potential in this attracting more interest and editors for the country/countries you work on please sign up and being contributing to the challenge! This is a way we can target every country of Asia, and steadily vastly improve the encyclopedia. We need numbers to make this work so consider signing up as a participant! Thank you. --Ser Amantio di NicolaoChe dicono a Signa?Lo dicono a Signa. 03:05, 21 October 2016 (UTC)

Ref: K7 Computing
[edit]Hello Rishabh, I am Rashmi Markhedkar and I am writing to you on behalf of K7 Computing Pvt. Ltd, a Chennai based cybersecurity solutions provider. I am writing to you with reference to K7 Computing’s page on Wikipedia.
K7 Computing’s flagship product is K7 Total Security and a Wikipedia page was created on K7 Total Security in the past which was deleted a few years back. The reason quoted was ‘Absence of noteworthy press mentions/articles’.
Just a few months back, I requested the Contributor who had deleted the page to put the page back and shared with him/her noteworthy press coverage and also link to the website of the company for his/ her reference.
The page was uploaded immediately. Here is the link to the page which now appears on 3rd number when a Google search is done by the company’s name. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/K7_Total_Security
I am writing to you with a request to edit this page in a manner which shares information on the company first and then its products. Also, if the page can be renamed as K7 Computing. Here is the link to the website of the company from where you can refer to more and updated information about the company. The website also has some recent press coverage for your reference. Company Website - https://k7computing.com/in/
I am making this request to you as I learnt while researching that you had created the page on K7 Total Security in May 2010.
I will be highly grateful to you for this help.
Thanks & regards Rashmi Markhedkar Rashmimarkhedkar (talk) 14:00, 1 February 2019 (UTC)

Happy First Edit Day!
[edit]Happy First Edit Day! Hi Tatiraju.rishabh! On behalf of the Birthday Committee, I'd like to wish you a very happy anniversary of the day you made your first edit and became a Wikipedian! The Herald (Benison) (talk) 05:41, 17 March 2024 (UTC) |
The article Samsung E2130 has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
This phone does not meet WP:GNG as it lacks any coverage outside of websites listing the specifications.
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Schützenpanzer (Speak) 15:44, 6 June 2024 (UTC)

Disambiguation link notification for September 14
[edit]Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Arabian Sea, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Portuguese. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)
