Northwest Cable News is a regional 24-hour cable news network based in Seattle, Washington, U.S. It is similar to New England Cable News, which operates out of Boston and covers the New England area.
The service is owned by Belo, and operates out of the KING-TV building in Downtown Seattle.
NWCN covers news in Washington, Oregon, and Idaho. It is available to 2.9 million cable TV and over-the-air users in those principal states, and, to a lesser degree, California, Alaska, and Montana.
The network uses material from co-owned stations KING in Seattle, KGW in Portland, KTVB in Boise and KREM in Spokane. Content-sharing agreements are in place with several other stations.
The network features news and weather programming throughout the day, plus NorthWest Sports Tonight each evening, and Gardening with Ciscoe LIVE call-in show each Friday. Fone Zone is a live call-in show which airs shortly after each Seattle Seahawks game ends on Sundays. The network re-airs Evening Magazine from sister-station KING-TV each evening. Also from KING-TV, Up Front, Gardening with Ciscoe (different from the live show), Northwest Backroads, Sounders FC Weekly, and The Pete Carroll Show re-air each weekend. In addition, KGW-TV provides Straight Talk to the Sunday evening line-up.
Some of the network's programming airs on the KTVB channel 7.3 in Boise. Prior to 2003, the entire network aired on Boise cable systems; it returned to Boise via KTVB-DT3 on August 28, 2009; it was re-added to CableOne on February 12, 2010.
