The COIBot report shows various users/addresses adding the link to various articles. It's unclear if the latest address will receive my warning message since I only posted it 14 days after the event. However, they were warned before using standard templates, so were various previous users and addresses (with some users blocked). I was tempted to suggest it for the blacklist immediately, but since there's also a legitimate use at the Patanjali Ayurved article, I'm posting this here for now. Thanks, —PaleoNeonate – 20:27, 25 September 2019 (UTC)

Since registering on July 17, 2019, this user has been adding links to two online comic book retailers (Mycomicshop.com and Atomicavenue.com) as WP:CITESPAM to eight newly created articles.

See the following articles:

* List of Marvel Comics publications (A–C) - 704 citations to Mycomicshop.com and 20 citations to Atomicavenue.com

* List of Marvel Comics publications (D–G) - 651 citations to Mycomicshop.com and 32 citations to AtomicAvenue.com

* List of Marvel Comics publications (H–L) - 429 citations to Mycomicshop.com and 12 citations to AtomicAvenue.com

* List of Marvel Comics publications (M) - 481 citations to Mycomicshop.com and 14 citations to AtomicAvenue.com

* List of Marvel Comics publications (N–R) - 330 citations to Mycomicshop.com and 92 citations to AtomicAvenue.com

* List of Marvel Comics publications (S) - 17 citations to Mycomicshp.com and 587 citations to AtomicAvenue.com

* List of Marvel Comics publications (T–V) - 20 citations to Mycomicshop.com and 319 citations to AtomicAvenue.com

* List of Marvel Comics publications (W–Z) - 20 citations to Mycomicshop.com and 520 citations to AtomicAvenue.com

That's at least 2,652 citations to Mycomicshop.com and 1,596 citations to AtomicAvenue.com (a total of 4,248) spread across just eight articles. Please note that the main Marvel Comics article (which has not yet been affected by this) has 125 inline citations and none of them are to comic book retailers. While I would like to assume good faith, the sheer volume of hundreds-per-page makes this look very odd. Imagine if the hamburger article had 587 "citations" to McDonalds.com or the shirt article was filled with 481 "citations" to Walmart.com or Target.com. In addition, this user rarely uses edit summaries and rarely makes any edits which do not involve adding a link to the Mycomicshop.com or AtomicAvenue.com. It has the appearance that the eight articles in question were created as WP:COATRACKs for the massive links to the two retailers as a not-so-subtle advertisement.

    New Wikibot BadCitationBot

    I've created a new Wikibot with the aim of checking citations for valid contents (right now it only checks for suspicious journals, social sites and weak or missing dates).

    If you would like to test or contribute to it you can clone it from its git repository: https://github.com/awiebe/mw-citation-check

    Remember to run pip -r requirements.txt

    Just give it a list of articles you want checked and it will spit out information about whether it has things wrong with it. Bad date formats, suspicious journals and social media links

    dnbamerica.com again

    More from the D&B Spammer. I reported this domain name in May, not sure why it wasn't added to the blacklist.

    youthkiawaaz.com - advocacy

    Not exactly "spam" in the narrow sense of the term, but the site is repeatedly misused as source for topics about social justice issues, and related startups and initiatives. Youth Ki Awaaz is a user-generated content platform for such topics and doesn't meet WP:RS by a long shot (it may be occasionally of interest for an uncontroversial interview or the opinion of an involved expert).

    I am not really asking for a blacklisting, but some advice on how to discourage further spreading of this site as source would be appreciated. Should such cases generally be added to User:XLinkBot revertlist or discussed at WP:RSN first? Any other ideas are welcome too of course :). GermanJoe (talk) 09:25, 7 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]

    Individual making changes on our wiki site to post falsehoods about our game's development

    This individual is changing our page content to make it look like our development is stopping and we are no longer releasing on PS4. His actions cause a lot of discord in our gaming community as they believe what he posts. For example, he removed content showing we were planning a PS4 release. He added to our page that we were "not" planning a PS4 release and he is changing wording within our content descriptions, etc. He is an IP user and we would like him banned from making changes on our pages: 50.35.47.144

    @RosieRascal: You'd be better off posting about this at WikiProject Video Games. At any rate, that unregistered user made some changes two weeks ago and hasn't made any edits since, so there's nothing for us to do. The edits have since been reverted by you and there's no indication further disruption will occur. Sam Walton (talk) 14:01, 21 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]
