Hello Onel5969! There are many articles in Category:Puyas which have similar conditions like that of the one you drafted recently and later after our consensus, merged into Meitei literature. If you find any of those articles in that category ineligible for WP:GNG (especially too short that it's not suitable for being an independent article), please don't hesitate to merge them into Meitei literature, just like I did for one of them. I have added three sections, "ancient", "medieval" and "modern" in the article Meitei literature. Star Awards 2023 articles

Hi! Where is the Star Awards 2023 main article? Star Awards had been an annual ceremony in Singapore and no one simply moved or delete the page before just because of notability. Please redo the page until it gets it's notability. Cyprus military bases

Hello, may I ask why you revrted my change on the Cyprus military bases to a misleading redirect? For starters, Akrotiri and Dhekelia are villages theyre not bases. Secondly, saying "Cyprus military bases" and redirecting automatically "British bases in Cyprus", is misleading, the British bases located within both Akrotiri village and Dhekelia, are not the only bases on the island of Cyprus, there are Cypriot National Guard bases as well thus the re-direct makes no logical sense. And as I said, the redirect makes no sense as you are calling 2 Villages/Towns, military bases (Which they are not). Plus, the bases that its referring to in Akrotiri and Dhekelia arent the only 2 bases on the island of Cyprus hence why I had said, either move the article or keep the edits because otherwise it makes no sense. Henry Ponsonby

Please explain why you have twice tagged this page for "notability". The Ponsonby brothers were the first of the Ponsonby family in Ireland which went on to affect Irish and British politics and society for the next two hundred years, for good and bad, and have entries in dozens of independent sources just like the Crosbies, the Dennys, the Cootes etc. Henry Ponsonby has his own biography in the DIB for goodness' sake. Draftifications

Hello, Onel5969,

I was looking at the nightly draftification list and it seemed like you went completely overboard draftifying articles over the past 24 hours. When I did a count, I found that you draftified 446 articles! This is excessive. Draftifying is ONE TOOL that can be used but it shouldn't be your go-to solution or only response for any article you see that has problems. How about tagging an article or starting a discussion with an editor about what problems keep coming up in their work?

In some cases, it looks like you just went and draftified every single article that a couple of editors had started. It's hard for me to believe that you came across more than 400 articles that warranted being draftified in just one day. Please do not overuse this tool, use your discretion and consider other options that are available to you as an experienced editor. Draftifying can be a solution to some problems that exist with newly created articles but it isn't the only one you should be making use of. Thank you for your contributions. Liz ^{Read! As hard as it is to believe, that's exactly what happened. When I edit, I select a day a week or so prior to the current date. On Wednesday (3/1) I reviewed the articles created on 2/25. There was an editathon in Uzbekistan on the 23-25 of February. During that event, several editors mass produced stub articles without any valid sources. Most of the articles were made in draft, then moved to mainspace by the editathon organizers (all of which were very inexperienced editors themselves). They were spoken to on their talk pages, and were asked to correct the articles. They did not not. About half the articles had a single ref, which was an invalid link; the other half had the same invalid link with a second ref to a non-reliable source. And it wasn't the only tool I used. Mixed amongst those 400 or so Uzbek articles were over 100 other articles which were reviewed but not draftified. Onel5969 ^{TT me} 11:03, 3 March 2023 (UTC)

Iyanaga Prize

About the article Yukio Matsumoto. I think the confusion comes from the fact is that Iyanaga Prize is an old prize that is no longer awarded today. It however used to be (one of) the most prestigious awards given by the math society in Japan. It’s not me saying it’s prestigious but it is so. A simple Google search should convince you that. Until sourcing is provided which shows it is notable, it is just you saying so. Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying it's not notable, just that there is nothing to show it is. And having said that, if that person's only claim to fame is winning this award, is the award notable enough to make the person notable? For example, in a different field, winning an Emmy award makes the person notable, but winning a regional Emmy, still a notable award, is not enough on it's own to show the person is notable. I have expanded the section Iyanaga Prize in the Japan math society article. I get not every award is prominent enough to make the receiver notable in the eyes of Wikipedia. Some awards do; e.g., Noble prizes. Iyanaga Prize is very selective; it was awarded to only one person per year. Its successor Spring Prize is "one of the most prestigious prizes awarded by the Society to its members." Like I said, it's not just me saying it's prestigious. Also, as you can see, many of receivers of the prize already have Wikipedia articles and I would argue (and many other would agree, I think) that those without articles should have articles eventually. 2025 Women's Rugby League World Cup qualification Notability tag

I understand why the tag has been added, but I'm sure that as the page grows over the next year or two as the tournaments get underway. RLWC qualification pages are generally quite notable and my experience is that is is better to start pages a bit earlier before they are notable so sources can be found and added easier when they become available. Revert of Chongqing Rail Transit station articles

I'm curious why you reverted two Chongqing Rail Transit rail station articles (Shijingpo station and Weidianyuan station) citing WP:GNG. These were the only two stations of the 25 stations on the Line 1 that did not have their own article, so using the basic principle of WP:BOLD, I created the articles, replacing the indirect, putting the basic information about the station, with references, in each article. Simply put, these two stations are just as notable as all the other stations on Line 1, and appropriately referenced. They can easily be expanded to include some of the other details that appear in other Line 1 station articles. Would you please explain why you singled these two stations out. Thank you. Each article needs to meet notability criteria, and neither of those articles did. And to do that you need in-depth coverage of the station itself. 2023 PDC Qualifying Calendar

Hi,

I created the page I marked in the subject line, and you have since redirected me in a completely illogical manner. This page exists: 2023 PDC Calendar I have created the results of the qualifiers based on the same template. The sources are the same, so either none of them have any validity, or both do. In fact, the results on the 2023 PDC Calendar page can be found on other wikipedia pages, while mine can't, and the sources have always proven the real thing everywhere. So what is the problem then? Either delete the original Calendar page as well, or please explain why the same sources on my page are not good? I was wondering if the citations recently added to both Affinity Living Riverview and Oxygen Towers would warrant the removal of one, or both, of the notability tags now? For context, the former is one of only three buildings over 100m (328ft) tall in the City of Salford, and the latter is in the top 20 tallest in Greater Manchester. Out of interest, when a notability tag gets added to an article, who's typically responsible for checking if it's still valid? The reviewer or the author? Many thanks. Notability templates in "<Year> in shooting" articles

Hi, I notice you have added a Multiple Issues template to several list articles - 2010-/2014-/2015-/2020 in shooting. I am a little confused as to what you mean by these.

• Notability - Clearly the topic is itself notable - it covers an Olympic sport, one which has its own subsection on many major news site (e.g. BBC Sport - Shooting, Inside the Games, Times of India. I could dredge up some non English-language sites as well, but I think the point is made - the topic is reported at a topic level, not just occasional articles under the aegis of "Olympics" or something). Presumably your concern is with the contents of those lists - you feel that some events and entries within the list are not notable or the list selection criteria is inadequate. It would be immensely helpful if you could template those sections, or take it to Talk, instead of arbitrarily (and inconsistently) templating entire articles - you are presumably not debating the notability of the Olympics, Commonwealth Games or World Championships!?

• Primary sources - Yes yes, it is generally quicker to go through a series of events (ICFRA World Champs, African Championships, etc) and add that event for every applicable year whilst you have the relevant pages open (both source & wikipedia articles), than to add the "<Year> in" articles one at a time, looping through all the different organisations and websites for 2013, then rinse-and-repeat for 2014. A fair tag that you could have added would be WP:Globalise, since the existing articles are all somewhat Eur-Asian centric. I would gently note that as a high-volume drive-by editor, apparently leaning heavily on (semi-)automated tools, you're missing much of this nuance. The criticism is noted, and is in some way fair, but I'm a little confused as to why you would pick on these articles, unless you are engaging on a broader campaign, and will shortly add these templates to many of the abandoned sports-based list articles of dubious notability such as 2014 in esports (no citations whatsoever!) and 2014 in table tennis (all primary sources). Again, tagging specific sections of concern or going to Talk would be immensely more helpful than drive-by article-level templating.

Hello, this is at least our 13th interaction since January 27, 2023 (https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=SC_Staaken&oldid=1135824626), after having no interactions prior in my 4 years on wikipedia. We have had interactions in SC Staaken, VfR Frankenthal, VfR Kaiserslautern, Hamburg-Eimsbütteler Ballspiel-Club, Harburger TB, Uwe Bengs, Fritz Sommer, Otto Oeldenberger, Lars Kindgen, Harry Sperl, Dr. Kong (brand), Christian Cavaletti, Skylark Holdings and I believe in other pages that have since been deleted within a span of about 5 weeks.

As I've previously stated (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User_talk:Onel5969/Archive_111#Please_stop_contacting_me), your interest in my work has made me uncomfortable. I think that's a reasonable feeling to have.

You don't have to use the formatting there (although that would be nice), but the information is important. I'm not sure that the comment was necessary or particularly added anything to the discussion. And with our history, it came across as a threat, a blackmail attempt and/or harassment.

I'm not personally offended if you want to nominate articles for deletion. In fact, I'd prefer you nominate them over just marking them as drafts as other users may have more sources and may not agree with the nomination. Nominate as many as you like. I'm still going to do the best I can to contribute here, no matter how many articles are nominated.

As you've been made aware here (https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=User_talk:Onel5969&action=submit#Continued_concerns), I'm already uncomfortable with our interactions. I really don't think we should interact with each other in any manner as our interactions provide nothing positive and do little to better the site.

I was keeping an eye on it for a couple months and trimmed it from big chnks on unref text. It looks like no one else cares. It looks like you are an experienced "deletionist" (in a good sense). Can you take a look at it?

Well, just took a look and removed almost all the uncited material. If there was a suitable target, redirect would be a possibility. The biggest issue with taking it to AfD (PROD, imho, would not be appropriate), is that, just again my own opinion, it's probably a very notable term. If this were a newer article, draftify would definitely have been the response, but it's not eligible for draftification, due to its age. Fourth_Way_enneagram

You re-deleted Fourth_Way_enneagram, why?

I don't think it's correct as various pages have links to Fourth_Way_Enneagram (upcase "E") that redirects to Fourth_Way_enneagram (downcase "e") that used to have the content you re-deleted, substituting it with another redirect not to the thing on page name (this enneagram), but to a book.

I understand that this isn't a scientific matter, unproved, etc.; but why deleting?

I hope to have an explaination or re-get the correct page.

Wikipedia rules are that sourcing needs to be of high-quality to be included. See WP:RS and WP:V. As it was, there was exactly one source for that page which could be verified and that was the book to which the page now redirects. If there are other sources which are reliable to use to source such an article, you can let us know, but I have to say I'm skeptical that these exist. I don't understand "there was exactly one source for that page which could be verified", as I see various notes pointing at books or URLs, are they all false references???

If they are all false and this page deserves to be be deleted, why it existed for so many years and seemed perfectly legit?

If you think it should have more references, you could have added a note for a lacking of references, asking for more, just like I usually read in wikipedia articles.

Just removing the content of an article here for >10 years, completely breaks articles referencing to it, causing confusion.

I myself had to look through redirect revisions to get the content that disappeared just recently, and simply reverted the 2 edits breaking things (the bot and yours) as a service for other users like me, but not knowing how or not having time to search in old revisions.

I hope in a more sensible outcome: like old article + note asking for more refs.

CAWU LC article Draftspace move.

An Article I recently created, Draft:CAWU Learning Center ( CAWU Learning Center ) was sent to draftspace on the basis of (quote) "a WP:UPE or WP:COI conflict." which I responded to with this on my talk page.

Wikipedia:UPE and Wikipedia:Conflict of interest do not apply to me, as I am not getting paid for this by any means and do not have an external relationship with the organization in question nor am I employed by the organization. I've provided references throughout the article to both primary and secondary sources, and still do not understand what the issue is. I said I find it difficult to find a different explanation, and I stand by that, I'm just not letting you weasel (this is fun, we can throw around insults in certain ways!) out of this on a technicality if saying The Word a third time allows you to report me. I thought the articles passed notability based on comparisons with numerous other articles you are happy to leave spreading misinformation due to them not being in the NPP queue. I developed them in user space and made attempts to engage other users in discussion as to suitability on both the extant Miracleman talk page and then after submitting the articles their own talk pages.

You flagged them as not. I have done some research as a counter and have not had chance to incorporate them in the articles for personal reasons over something like 48 hours. You have taken it upon yourself to blank the articles, making no attempt to incorporate the information in the list articles, in the meantime, and have once again done so without any attempt to gain consensus for doing so such as via discussion on the article's talk pages or an AfD discussion.

I do not see how your part in the process is either constructive or improves Wikipedia because it seems on what you've said so far it goes no deeper than you thinking your actions are fine and need no further explanation than dismissive referrals to cherry-picked policies while ignoring both other policies and anything approaching common courtesy. No worries. Those are very minor changes I made, and exist in tons of articles. Personally, regarding the dashes, I still have to go back over articles I create and fix them, since I find it onerous to manually insert the correct ones as I'm writing the article. And it only took me three years to figure out that I didn't have to pipe stuff like artists to artists. Keep up the good work, although the article could use a few more things in it cited (e.g. "The massive stone is split in two at the top, thus suggesting the two siblings. I don't want to get into anything like an edit war with you, but it's fairly ridiculous that this page should be set up to redirect to 2022 English cricket season; that is to say, the previous cricket season. Clearly it bears no relation to that. You would not redirect the one to the other, any more than you would redirect 1980 United States presidential election to 1976 United States presidential election. I do not understand the reasoning behind your template of lack of notibility. I have multiple sources on my article, not to mention it is one of the bigger private grocery chains in Minnesota. Especially when we have aritcles like Reasor's with only 3 sources and similarly sized to Kowalski's not be questioned. Ive seen articles for grocery chains with 2 locations that dont get that template. Hi. WP:OSE isn't a good argument. To show notability, you need in-depth coverage from independent, reliable, secondary sourcing. And this comes close, one of the articles qualifies, and at least two of the others give it more than just a brief mention. However, interviews, being primary sources, do not go towards notability. Hi. Okay, cites like "The Times 28 March 1963" do not contain enough information to pass WP:VERIFY. Who's the author? What's the title of the article? What page is it on? I frequently come across the {fansite} maintenance tag on articles and I often have trouble finding an issue. For example, in October 2022, you tagged Bktherula. I don't understand what makes the article seem as if it was written from a fan's POV. I removed a sentence in the lead section ("She is recognized for her aesthetic and devoted fanbase.") because that is not what the source said ("BK has cultivated a devoted fanbase with her inventive aesthetic and headbanging live shows"). Other than that, I can't see anything problematic, on a surface level. The short "Early life" and "Career" sections seem pretty straightforward. What am I missing? I am really confused by the desire to name the article on the political party "New Political Center - Girchi" instead of just "Girchi"... What is this decision based on? The party's name is not "New Political Center", it is officially and legally registered only as Girchi. That is its name in registration documents, per the party's constitution, in Parliament, on electoral ballots, etc.

Thank you for reviewing the article. If you look at the editing history, you will see that other editors mentioned the "notability" issue as I was working on the draft and submitting it for approval. After attending a Wikipedia Education webinar regarding the use of Wikipedia in teaching, it is my understanding that Wikipedia is looking to increase the number of articles related to academic institutions and libraries in its content. If this is the case, I hope that this article will remain on Wikipedia (rather than be deleted). I would like to use it during an online edit-a-thon event during National Library Week 2023. So, right now, you have several primary sources from the University and affiliated groups. The nces.ed.gov does not load, so I can't evaluate it; The Tri-College one is also primary; the Scholder piece does not mention the library by name, and that is just a brief mention; the dedication program is also primary; her obit in the Wahpeton Daily News is not a whole lot about the library; the same with the inforum piece. I looked on Google, Books, News, and Newspapers.com and couldn't really find much more. But you might have access to sources I don't. My best suggestion would be to look through the WDN archives (which are not on newspapers.com) and find see if there are any in-depth sources there. There is no policy, but there is consensus. Usually, if something has been AfD, and its a recent AfD, it would be G4'd. This is not terribly recent, but there is nothing in the article which has changed since the AfD to indicate it has become more notable. Add to that the fact that this was submitted through AfC, declined, and then moved to mainspace without any substantive improvement, and it should go through review. Hi Ezhiki - I agree, AWB is inconsistent at times, it probably should read "chairman of the board". The guidelines on capitalization occur at MOS:Caps, where, in the first sentence, it reads, "capitalization is primarily needed for proper names, acronyms, and for the first letter of a sentence". Further down on that guideline there is a section titled, "Titles of people", and the first bullet says, "In generic use, apply lower case to words such as president, king, and emperor". This would also apply to chairman, professor, doctor, etc. Except when used as their title, "President Kennedy", "King George", "Emperor Meiji", "Professor Melnitz", "Doctor Martin Luther King", etc. Looking at your article, there are several other capitalizations which should be in lower case. Route Section on Road Articles

Hi there. I Just wanted to find out something... The other day, you found a paragraph on the "Route" Section of the M58 (Cape Town) article with about three citations clearly showing after the last full stop! Then, you decided to claim that that paragraph is "uncited material" & erased it, meanwhile the three citations were clearly there for all to see. I really can't understand how that edit summary you wrote ("removed uncited material") was applicable!

Also, the "route section" on a road article is supposed to describe a route from start to finish from my understanding (content written there is written in a "specific order"). So, this thing of going to that section of an article & "picking which paragraphs to erase" (like erasing the start & erasing the ending & leaving a middle paragraph) does not make sense; you are better off erasing the entire section, as removing even one paragraph disturbs the entire explanation! I still remember the way you did it on the M18 (Pretoria) article some months ago (where you literally wrote "the route starts in Pretoria" without continuing any further) & I've noticed the way you did it the other day on the M13 (Cape Town) article.

My advice on this last part is do NOT "pick" which paragraphs deserve to stay solely on the basis of "which citations are present"! I Suggest that after you have "Published Changes", you "read what the section is saying" (how you have left it) before you walk away from the article!

From the "Route" Section of the M13 (Cape Town) article, you erased the "start of the route" & you also erased the "end of the route" & you left a paragraph which is explaining the "middle of the route" on its own! Do you think that paragraph you left behind contained the right or applicable words to be used in describing the "M13"? Again, it would have been better to erase the entire section, as it doesn't make sense how you thought that from the entire scenario, that was the paragraph with the right words to use. Appearance Matters!

I just came here to give you advice; READ what the page looks like after you have "Published Changes" before you walk away from it. If the statement you left "looks incomplete" or doesn't make sense generally, do NOT leave it like that!

Hi Onel5969, in this edit at List of preserved locomotives in Canada you seemed to pass judgment that the list is okay as it is, and need not be "under construction" any longer. I experienced it as being fired from the job, and subsequently directed my Wikipedia editing time elsewhere. Development is sorely needed there, however, so I come here to request: please apply yourself to developing the list-article pronto. I believe you are supposed to use "under construction" for articles that are, well, in major development, and you may additionally or instead use {{in use}} when you are actively editing and there's possibility of edit conflicts. Hi "Under Construction" and "InUse" tags are similar, although InUse tags are for very short periods, but Under Construction is also for temporary use as well, as it states, "has not been edited in several hours". I used to believe the same thing you did, for the template used to echo that it could be left for several days. And that's how I used to use it myself. However, this edit changed the concept. There was a discussion about it (I do not remember where, I wish it had taken place on the template's talk page), and that thought process was upheld. I think the biggest issues I have with that discussion are a) the real disagreement was between a long-term editor (with a very ambiguous understanding of GNG) and myself, not with the article's creator; b) the article's creator was not a newbie, so they should know better; and c) the lack of comprehension of some admins about what it is that NPP does. I believe I have included a wide range of references to news articles citing the researcher and his work, all independent and reliable secondary sources (with their own wikipedia pages as independent media), e.g. Europa Press, El Confidencial, Atresmedia, EurekAlert, SciTech... Are they not enough, or not valid? Could you please advice on how to improve the article notability to remove its tag? However, I did a google scholar search on him, and couldn't find anything. At least I think I didn't. Mentions and being quoted in the press do not equate to notability. For academics, there are two paths to showing notability: WP:GNG and WP:NSCHOLAR. I find nothing for them to meet any of the requirements of NSCHOLAR, and I don't see enough in-depth coverage to show that they meet WP:GNG. Firstly, I take it as a principle that every Test match and every ODI should have a record on Wikipedia, even if it just as part of a series, e.g. 1986–87 Australian Tri-Series.

Second, every ODI up to 2004 now has its own potted scorecard on Wikipedia recording it with the highest scorers and wicket-takers. Up to 2004. You chose to delete the article on the ground of lack of references.

There are six references in the article, if you read it. It's just references are not there in the usual way. Well, your initial principle is just simply incorrect. WP is not a sports almanac, every article must meet notability. And to do that, you need in-depth coverage from independent, reliable sources. While there is no set limit, three is a good place to be to avoid someone questioning its notability. Currently, the article I moved to draft has zero. You tagged 2023 Southeastern Conference softball season for relying excessively on references to primary sources. There were other sources embedded in templates that were not encoded as references. Those templates have been around for no telling how long, or copied and modified, from templates that have been around for no telling how long. I encoded them as references. As I see it, the primary source references that are used, do not have interpretations that would require any additional secondary sourcing, Wikipedia:No original research#Primary, secondary and tertiary sources. Hi. Using only primary sources does not satisfy the need for secondary sources to establish notability. I saw the 5 footnotes, and the two embedded in the record table (which seem to simply be duplicates of footnotes 4 and 5). Those are fine for taking care of verifiability, but they do not go to notability. Did I miss any others? You don't have to change any of the existing ones, simply supply secondary sources which show the season is notable. I'm sure it is, but unfortunately other editors might not take my word for it. One of the sources is the NCAA, the most prominent college sports association in the U.S., another is a poll covered by USA Today with the National Fastpitch Coaches Association as the source, and another is ESPN, yet another prominent, reputable source for college sports, in addition to the Southeastern Conference sources, a prominent college sports conference. Women's sports don't get the coverage of men's sports but that is no reason to prevent attempts at providing more information about them. If you don't think that notability is shown, then I am not sure what would. By all means have it, and other articles that are very similar, deleted. There are many, most of which I did not create, and I had been planning on putting some additional effort into them and even creating more. I see you previously flagged this article as 'Orphan', but since then, much work has been done to link from other articles that refer to the subject, with numerous citations to newspaper articles and other sources that name him directly, and others that can be easily verified. Have you drilled down to all these and checked them out? One example is his LGBT+ activism covered in the article on Virginia Chadwick. Apart from yours, there has been only one other contest as to copyvio, and that was reversed. The first two citations in the Derek Williams (musician) article are to full-page newspaper articles on the subject, with photographs of him. Saffron Barker

Hello Onel5969, I hope you're well.

I have noticed that you have redirected Saffron Barker's entry back to The Celebrity Circle.

However, I feel this was rather quick, and I seen nothing to suggest she was not notable. I understand the previous discussions from 2019 and 2021 as these were poorly-sourced with about 11 not very strong sources in the past, but that's why I created a new entry which took about five days, had over 100 sources - most of which were from notable publications - and a Creative Commons photo made public by a notable gymwear brand she has worked with.

I'm sure you'll understand my confusions for the redirect, especially as their was not even a discussion for Article for Deletion or redirect, and it had probably only been up for less than 10 hours in total.

Please can you explain if it would be possible for

a) It to go back up once again? and b) Why the decision was made?

I understand that this is probably the most detailed the page ever was, judging from its history.

I look forward to hearing back from you, and my frustrations are not with you yourself, just the article's sudden disappearance.

I absolutely agree with you that Wledig doesn't meet WP:GNG. What I don't agree with is your decision to undo my edits and restore the redirect to only one of the articles about people (historical and mythological) that the title was applied to. It doesn't make sense and it's misinforming people.

Why didn't you flag the article for deletion instead, which would be much easier for you to do than it is for me? It's what I wanted to do in the first place, but I realized it would be far easier to add content to the article than flag it for deletion. I copied the first paragraph of my edit and the source footnote to a page of a print Welsh historical dictionary directly from Amlawdd Wledig. I found the same dictionary (there's a Wikipedia article about it at Geiriadur Prifysgol Cymru) online and it contains the exact text quoted in the Amlawdd article. I don't see a way to link directly to the definition, but if you go to https://welsh-dictionary.ac.uk/gpc/gpc.html and search for "wledig," then click the second definition the text is there. So there's a third reference and you can take your pick as to whether you want the print one or the online one.

Hey, that's pretty good. I went ahead and made some edits which I'll explain here.

"Maxen" is a alternative spelling of "Macsen" that I rarely see so I switched it. And it's not that Macsen Wledig is sometimes confused with Magnus Maximus — they are very much one and the same person although his historical role in Welsh and Breton history blurs into myth.

"Emrys Wledig" is much better known as Ambrosius Aurelianus, who appears to be historical although again exists in mythology as well. (Both the Old Welsh "Emrys" and the Latin "Ambrosius" mean "immortal". In some stories Ambrosisus Aurelianus is conflated with "Myrrdin Emrys" who is conflated with the wizard Merlin of Aurthurian legend. It's all a messy hodgepodge.)

And last, I linked the Red Book of Hergest to the article on it. I also corrected the spelling of "Hergest" which you had as "Herges," although it pained me to do it because that would imply a connection between the earliest Arthurian stories to the world of Tintin and I very much like the idea of Captain Haddock roaming around Post-Roman Britain, yelling "Blistering Blue Barnacles!" at the Saxons and the Picts. 24.17.40.164 (talk) 15:21, 3 April 2023 (UTC)

There are also "Subject-specific notability guidelines", see WP:SNG, which allow an article to be presumed notable, even if there are not enough in-depth sources to pass WP:GNG. That being said, there are only 3 SNG's, in my experience, which trump GNG: WP:NPOL, WP:GEOLAND, and WP:NSCHOLAR. And then only in limited cases. For example, you'll see many articles for sub-national politicians with only a source or two, but because they were a member of a state legislature (in the U.S.) for example. But a mayor, even of a large city, must still pass GNG. For GEOLAND, if there is census data on a populated place, that census will suffice. NSCHOLAR is a bit more complex, but if they qualify through one of the 8 factors, then they do not have to pass GNG.

So, all that being said, let's take a look at your article. The first reference, while in-depth, is from an organization he is affiliated with, therefore it is a primary source, and does not go to notability. The second one is of okay depth of coverage, but it is a simple routine announcement of a business posting. The 3rd link does not go to an actual article, so the quality of the source can't be assessed. The 4th is another regurgitated press release of the announcement of his appointment. I actually accessed the third source through a google search, and fixed the link in the article. Sources like this are problematic, if you look at the language of his section of the article, it is obvious that the language was provided by someone associated with the professor. So with the current sourcing, imho, they do not pass WP:GNG.

Regarding WP:NSCHOLAR, with the information in the article, I can't see him meeting any of the 8 criteria. His Google Scholar profile gives him a 10 for his h-Index, which is not very high at all. A couple of his articles, "Factors influencing the adoption of cloud computing by small and medium enterprises in developing economies" and "Phishing, SMiShing & Vishing: an assessment of threats against mobile devices" get a decent number of citation counts, but he is a co-author of both, so I think he doesn't quite meet notability there, either.

Hi, I've just waded through the lengthy thread on ANI, and got a sense of deja-vu. It doesn't look like there's going to be a consensus for any sort of sanctions, but can I just offer a bit of advice? If you do triage and decide to draftily or redirect an article, and that gets reverted, simply start a procedural AfD and then walk away from it. Having a look through my own contributions, Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Global Newborn Society looks like an example of doing this. Above all, please just avoid the temptation to snap back and respond in kind - it doesn't work. Be the editor that can't be baited. The issue here is less the question of whether it's notable or not (although per WP:CRYSTAL the argument for notability will always be shaky this far in advance of the event) and more that you are 1) edit warring against two editors and 2) had the gall to place a template warning on their page while doing so. I never mark any of my edits as minor edits manually. If one of my edits was marked as minor, it was done through the app (like AWB) that I was using, which is rarely incorrect. Hi Onel5969, if it helps you can view from the logs that I restored the page on 00:17, 30 March 2023, then moved to userspace at 00:20, 30 March 2023‎. If it had been moved back to mainspace with no improvements at this point your action would have been entirely correct. The editing history shows significant additions at 22:09, 30 March 2023‎ and 22:16, 30 March 2023‎, so this is something you can check without needing access to the deleted version. 2022 Pan American Archery Championships

Hello! I would appreciate to be informed on why did the 2022 Pan American Archery Championships got removed due to "not enough in-depth coverage from independent, reliable sources to pass" when the other Pan American Archery Championships that have pages got the same amount of coverage. Would the other ones should be removed as well? These are international, federated, sanctioned championships with olympian athletes. What to we have to do to be able to keep them on?
