Northern Canada Power Commission

Hi, I reverted the edit you made at Northern Canada Power Commission which turned it back into a redirect to Northwest Territories Power Corporation. Based on what I had found NCPC was a separate federal entity that was then carved up and transferred to territorial jurisdiction into what is now Yukon Energy and NTPC. ThisIsNotABetter, sorry, no. It's not necessary. What is not polite is wasting other editor's time by publishing poorly cited and substandard articles. That discussion doesn't preclude the new page from being created, though, and the move discussion before that closed with If editors prefer to have a separate article solely and specifically on the football team as currently structured, I would suggest creating a draft for a proposed subtopic split, which is what we have here (and is supported by the references on the talk page.) The two discussions just means that there is no consensus to move Mohun Bagan to ATK Mohun Bagan, not that there's no consensus to create a new topic. I do admit the whole thing is a mess. Removing UW EngSoc Page

Hi, first off sorry for wasting your time with the first two big edits. But now I wanted to know why the sources I added are considered too closely related. I was basing this page off of UOIT Engineering Students' Society, who also has sources which are either the society's website or the school's/town's newspapers/blogs. It seems like they're both constructed the same way, so it's not an outlier in presentation. That's an WP:OSE argument, which isn't a valid argument. Just because an article exists on Wikipedia does not mean it is necessarily a good model to base a new article on. Wikipedia is monitored by volunteers, so it's not unusual for an inappropriate article to slip through the cracks. But you're right, that other page should most likely be deleted as well. SIG MP41 thing - what happened?

I have no idea what prompted the copyright thing. I mainly used info from Chris McNab's "Modern Small Arms - 300 of the World's Greatest Small Arms" book (ISBN 9781782742166) with small bits from there and there - like gunwiki and modernfirearms and others. Like is naming the firearm designer a copyright violation or something?

@TrickShotFinn: The source concerned was SIG MP-41 Neuhausen submachine gun (Switzerland). Your version was similar to some of the phraseology on that page, for example

Behappy 29, please make sure that your references are in-depth and from independent, reliable sources, so that it meets WP:GNG. I would suggest you go through the AfC process, to help you find your way to notability. Regarding the deleted article, my marking it reviewed was simply housekeeping, since the outcome of the AfD would decide the article's future. I did not vote at the AfD, but if I had, I would have supported it's deletion, since a WP:BEFORE search does not show nearly enough in-depth coverage to pass WP:GNG, and the person clearly does not meet either SPORTSPERSON or ENT. Bypassing WP:AfC/R

I came to notice that you recently marked 2020 France–Islamist controversy and 2020 France-Islamist controversy redirects as reviewed. While the latter was automatically created by AnomieBOT, I'd like to draw your attention to the fact that the former was manipulatively created by a direct move from the draft namespace without consulting the redirect wizard. There's currently a discussion to determine the legitimacy of these redirects and their predecessor drafts as subtopics of their current target instead of the WP:SPINOFF that they were originally meant to be until the now indefed page mover, GPinkerton, unilaterally decided to move them on grounds of being WP:POVFORKs. On a side note, as well, I believe the current title is ungrammatical. It should've been 2020 France-Islamists controversy instead. Please let me know your rationale behind reviewing, thanks. Robert Dawson Scott, hi. One could tell that you are very familiar with the subject, that's part of the issue. It's written from a very non-neutral point of view. Be wary of terms like "launched the careers of a number of now familiar Scottish talent", "Despite an energetic campaign", and "one of the best loved pieces of popular", as well as peacock terms like "influential", and "accomplished ". The bigger issue is the lack of opposing viewpoint. If this was a left-leaning group in that time period, there was probably negative press about it, not of which is included, presenting a very one-sided view of the group. Depending on your involvement in the theater scene, you might have a COI issue. It's one of the reasons I stay away from editing on any of the pages of people I know personally. Tagging plant stubs "one source"

Please do not continue to tag stubs on plants as "one source". A one-sentence stub with one source is acceptable, and the stubs should have a "taxonbar" template at the bottom with a half-dozen or more other WP:V sources. Also, nobody will ever improve these stubs because of a tag. They might improve the stub because they care about the topic, but usually the tag just sits there for years, distracting the readers and accomplishing nothing. This link is also not optimal – the word linked is not a synonym for the introduced link target, but a related topic, so piping it the way you've done will likely be confusing to readers. Uanfala, regarding the first one, it definitely didn't refer to a place, or a person. Normally, I'd point it to the target that changing the redirect to a dab made, but pointing it to the spider made no sense. Since it was an attack, I felt the vengeance angle was the best option. But I can see now I most likely should just have delinked it. However, I disagree with your assessment regarding the second one, I feel it's clearly pointing to the vengeance concept. Those weren't the only, in fact, they weren't the main reason, which he doesn't have any notability outside the group. Which is still the issue. Sending articles to Draft that have some sources

These stubs had at least one source and additional sources in Bibliography. You chose to inactivate the articles instead of letting the editors know that more sources can be added for improvement. This is a poor practice to expand on the diversity and inclusion of topics of the articles. Due to a lack of awareness and support from the community, these articles will be in the draft stage for a very long time. The measures should not be as harsh as to silence some topics, but rather constructive to support the editors (e.g., a notification through tagging before sending the article to the draft stage). Draftication is the perfect practice to encourage editors to develop articles in the correct way, without deleting them outright. I'm not sure of the point of draftifying here either: Onel5969, if the topics appear non-notable, you should send them to PROD or AfD. Otherwise, draftification only makes sense if there's something very bad with the article, you can't fix it easily yourself, and there are people around who will be able to address the issues. Draftification is not a process to push articles from Start– to B-quality, or to force people to justify notability. Uanfala, as per draftify, if "the topic has some potential merit", which I felt they both did, and "the article does not meet the required standard", which they clearly didn't, and "there is no evidence of active improvement", which they hadn't been worked on in weeks, then the proper course of action is to draftify. And what is the "required standard"? I don't believe there's an expectation that newly created articles should be GA-ready. The articles didn't pass GNG just now, notability is a feature of topics, not of pages. If notability was a concern in draftifying, then this is a sign of a failed due diligence in the review process. Yes, draftyfing here had the end result of aggravating the creator and pushing them to make improvements to the articles. You can count that as a success, if you wish, but in the majority of cases, a draftified article would simply sit there for six months until it expires. – Uanfala (talk) 19:51, 9 December 2020 (UTC)

Uanfala, less than 2 months is not enough time to learn all the broad strokes of WP, let alone its nuances. And a single source is solid? Seriously? Especially in the actor's article, where virtually none of the essential points in the wp article were mentioned in the source (Moscow State Institute of Theater Arts, Yanka Kupala National Academic Theater, Laureate of the State Prize of the BSSR, National Artist of the Republic of Belarus, or any of the films in the filmography). Uanfala, sorry, the actor had a single source, the other was a "Literature" feature, which was not used as a source in the article. The square also had a single source, with 3 pieces in a "Bibliography" with no footnotes. One of those was a duplicate of the single reference, the second was to a promotional tourism site, and the third was not available online. Ermm.... Well.. inline citations – the ones that are used within the text and output footnotes, are only one form of sourcing. They're not strictly required beyond a small number of situations (e.g. direct quotations, or material that has been challenged). DoubleGrazing, I try to stay away from political stuff on WP, but the article is well sourced, from a variety of sources (CNN, Fox, The Times, Axios, etc.), and involved a candidate for President of the US, so most likely will go beyond WP:NOTNEWS. My concern was WP:BIO1E, but her involvement with multiple US officials probably moves her beyond that. I particularly liked the Vox headline. BTW, keep up your good work. I marked the article for speedy deletion however you removed the tag. The event is mentioned under Eric_Swalwell#Ties_to_alleged_Chinese_spy. The article is not well sourced. It's merely salacious, so the exclusive Axios article [3] has been reported in other places. The fundamental problem is as I've outlined in the talk, is that this person was merely followed for potentially being a spy. The only facts were her involvement with powerful men. She wasn't arrested. She left the US voluntarily. The only govt action was to warn Swalwell of the risk. The Wikipedia:Biographies_of_living_persons policy applies, which says just being suspected of something is not noteworthy. As is, the article is not biographical, but defamatory and a disclosure of confidential information. I think that Doomsdayer520 is acting under a good-faith error about Articles for Creation, and thinks that something was wrong with the AFC review of this article so that it was approved. My assessment is that AFC worked as intended, and did not approve the article, but that the article was moved by the author into article space anyway. I agree with you that this is a case where NPP is the gate, as it is the gate for all new articles, but it isn't a case of reviewer error, but of the author ignoring the review. Maybe you or I can explain further. I think that you and I and Doomsdayer520 all agree that the article should be deleted, and that we only disagree as to what the procedural error was. GeekFreak98, hi. The proper place to "work on" articles is in draft. Other editors don't know when you're done with your editing, and having uncited material on WP is not acceptable to some editors (and can be removed at any time as per policy). That's why draft is a good place to work on an article undisturbed. Another way is to place a {{construction}} tag at the top of the article. MJL, oh well. We'll disagree on the AfC closure, which in my opinion was a no-brainer, with the overwhelming support for keep. And while Toughpigs is absolutely correct that AfD is NOT the place to suggest a merge, when an AfD discussion is held, and the overwhelming consensus is to keep the article, and not merge, then opening a merge discussion is something that shouldn't be done so soon after the AfD discussion. It's like renominating right after a closure. The correct procedure would have been to take the AfD to DRV. The AfD discussion was broader in scope and contained many more editors (as more folks look at AfD's than merger discussions on a single page). It would have been one thing if the !votes based on policy were closer to no-consensus. If the editor above had reached out for help, rather than being combative, then I would have helped them. Doomsdayer520, I would have done that originally, however, my issue isn't with the notability of the article, rather that it falls (imho) under WP:NOTESSAY. Most of the is unsourced, and seems to be WP:OR or WP:SYNTH. That said, the limited amount I saw that could be put in the article, is already covered, for the most part in the themes section. The article, as written, doesn't have a whole lot of sourced material dealing with the affect of the show in the U.S., rather it appears to have some cited information on the themes in the show, and then a whole lot of OR about those themes. Hi Onel5969, just reminding you that when you are disambiguating Queen's Theatre on various articles, you need to search the entire article for mentions; most of the articles mention and link the theatre more than once, and all of those links need disambiguating. I do know about that, and try to catch every instance. the only issue I had was in the period 1833-1835, when it appears there wasn't a theater of this name in London (Her Majesty's Theatre wasn't called this until 1837, and Scala Theatre was called the Fitzroy Theatre during this period. What makes ones like this tricky is that the redirect to Sondheim Theatre created lots of dabs, and then you find out how many of them were incorrect links. Yeah, why don't we outlaw naming anything "Queen's Theatre"; that would save Wikipedians lots of trouble and lots of mistakes! Or, perhaps the whole mess could have been avoided if the West End "Queen's" had had a parenthetical like "(West End)", and "Queen's Theatre" had always been a dab page. That way the DABbot would have caught most of what needed to be fixed. BTW, you might want to look through my "fix dab" contribs prior to my first message to you here, to make sure I didn't improperly link the wrong theatre to the Sondheim. Don't use a tool or gadget or tag filter. Go to my contribs, do Control+F fix dab, and you'll see 61 of them in my edit summaries. I am fully against your revdel proposal. It was me who wrote 95% of the 2021 U-20 World Cup article (including the part on that BLOG), which I then copied to the 2023 as the process is the same. You think that the website was copied to WP? It is the other way around. Please check the revision history of the 2021 FIFA U-20 World Cup to prove my claims. Regarding Page

The tag you put to delete the page was not correct in my point of view because Raybak Abdesselem has won medals for his country and according to WP Athletes he is passing the notability that is why i created this page, on other hand there are many pages of karate champion who have same amount of references and won same kinds of title and they have the wikipedia page. For example: Ali_Fadakar Mehdi_Amouzadeh Saleh_Abazari Hamoun_Derafshipour Bahman_Asgari

All karateka players have same amount of references, i have added one news source and will add more in french as i don't understand french, i shall be thankful if you could reverse your decision, otherwise 30 to 40 karate player pages will be deleted from Wikipedia.

Cuman–Kipchak confederation

Hi, you reverted Cuman–Kipchak confederation to redirect to Cumania, why? Because the amount was too small?
Cumania should deal only with the geographic region "Cumania". The confederation, that is a different concept from the region, should be dealt with in a separate article (Cuman–Kipchak confederation). Many other languages' Wiki pages that link Cumania deal with only the region (or grassland). For example, Chinese wiki has another article dealing with the confederation (zh:庫曼汗國). A.WagnerC, it could be a copyright issue. I can't find the source it comes from to ascertain the copyright status. Usually you shouldn't add copyrighted images to WP (and you can never add them on Commons), but there are certain instances where you can. You can learn about it more at Wikipedia:Non-free content. Hi there, you reverted my article to draftspace, citing lack of notability and inadequate supporting information. I believed the subject to be notable enough by virtue of her founding the national music college in Zimbabwe and teaching at a major music college in the UK for nearly twenty years. I also agree that although there's very little information there and it all came from her obituary (again, a half-page obit in a major national newspaper speaks to notability), however I thought the point of Wikipedia was that other editors would be able to flesh out the article further, but I don't see that happening in draftspace. Well, with a single ref, and an obit at that which there is a good chance was written by her family, is sourced nowhere near enough to remain in mainspace. However, I see your point about her founding a college in Zimbabwe, and that's why I moved it to draft, rather than sending it to AfD. I did that so you could work on it, and perhaps find more independent, reliable sources. I looked online, but her name is pretty common, so searching is rather difficult.
