Template:Infobox Internet celebrity Molly Kristin Wood[1] (born (1975-05-23)May 23, 1975) is an executive editor at CNET.com and previously a writer for Associated Press, MacHome Journal magazine, and O'Reilly Media. Wood hosts the the "Gadgettes"[2] podcast with Kelly Morrison; "The Buzz Report", a technology video news column that is published weekly; and "CNET Mailbag", a viewers' mail show. She has appeared in mainstream media shows such as Regis and Kelly and CNBC's On the Money and is a former daily co-host of the Buzz Out Loud podcast with Tom Merritt.

Wood Comes from Bismarck, North Dakota. She has a BA in journalism with a major in French from the University of Montana in Missoula, Montana. During her senior year (June 1996 - May 1997) she served as the Editor-in-Chief of the The Montana Kaimin, the daily student newspaper of the University of Montana. Upon graduation, she took a job as a reporter at The Missoulian, Missoula's daily newspaper. In July 1997, she joined the Associated Press, handling a variety of both general news and sports stories in the western US.

She is married to Justin Eckhouse [1] and currently lives in the Oakland Hills area [3]. In December 2006, Molly announced during a podcast that she was expecting a baby. Wood gave birth to a baby boy named "Eli" on March 2, 2007. Wood returned to work on July 9, 2007 after three months of maternity leave[4].

In January 2008, Wood's hairstyle became the subject of a meme-like legacy among the technology-podcast listener community. The controversy originated with a comment by John Dvorak on the This Week in Tech podcast, who described Wood's hairstyle as a 'Mullet'.[5]

Wood also was instrumental in starting criticism against the Palm Treo. On Gadgettes she said (in a singing voice) "Can't find a better man. Thats the Treo. Can't find a better man. But she love him."

On January 15, 2009, Wood announced that, due to other CNET projects, she was resigning as daily co-host of Buzz Out Loud, reducing her role to that of guest co-host on Mondays only.[6] Following her departure Natali Del Conte stepped in to fill the spot on Buzz Out Loud.[7]
