Neutrality, I am confused as to why you renamed the APRN page back to advanced practice nurse and CRNA page back to the nurse anesthetist name. I changed the name so that would reflect the actual official names of both the profession and the specialty. If both advanced practice nurse and nurse anesthetist going to be redirected to the appropriate pages then I am not sure of your motivation. Can you please explain your logic. an almanac?

A rather pedantic discussion is taking place at Wikipedia talk:What Wikipedia is not#Conflicting/confusing_guidelines about whether WP:NOT can say Wikipedia is not an almanac. Such a claim would contradict Wikipedia:Five pillars, which you initiated. It may be too long ago to recall, but when you first wrote the page, which sources or official policies did you use to write "general encylopedias, specialized encylopedias, and almanacs?" What was the basis of the wording? In the end, it doesn't really matter, but the Conflicting/confusing_guidelines discussion is interesting nonetheless. Kingturtle (talk) 03:31, 11 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, I just listed File:Save Freedom of Speech.png that you uploaded (in 2004, wow!) at WP:PUI because someone changed the tagging to claim the image is in the public domain; I hope you'll join the discussion. Unfortunately, in order to not be deleted as a result of that if the result is "non-free", it will need a fair use rationale written for the articles it is used in; I'd do it myself but I'm not really familiar enough with the image to know what specifically the rationale is. Anomie 20:25, 13 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

The result of the WP:PUF (aka PUI) discussion was to re-label the image as non-free, however as a non-free image it require a non-free use rationale for each article it's used it, currently it's lacking this (indeed never seems to have had one) and may get deleted or removed from some articles unless such rationales are addded, see Wikipedia:Non-free use rationale guideline. --Sherool (talk) 15:58, 18 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned non-free media (File:Aragonese Party logo.png)

Thanks for uploading File:Aragonese Party logo.png. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 05:03, 14 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Neutrality

I've proposed some changes to the five pillars. The most controversial proposals are to the first sentence of the first pillar, and the first sentence of the fifth pillar. Since this text has changed very little since you created the page in 2005, I created a research section to attempt to document why this was so. Your contributions (either to the research section, or to the general discussion) would be greatly appreciated! Andrew Gradman talk/WP:Hornbook 02:25, 23 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

European University

Hi Neutrality,

I contact you because I need your help in an article European University I represent the organization and I'm disagree about the last modify. In my opinion the article lost their neutral point of view and now other user add text related only about unaccredited status, I my opinion this is not relevant, I read other University in Wikipedia and none of them have emphasis in the unaccredited status in my opinion last modify generated a bad images and don't keep a neutral tone. But well this is my opinion, for that I will contact you because your nick look neutral. Please if you could check and review the discussion page of this article and the article and give me your feedback I will be thankfully for your contribution. --Omrganews (talk) 08:17, 2 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

File source problem with File:Star-Spangled Banner artists rendering.bmp

File Copyright problem
File Copyright problem

Thanks for uploading File:Star-Spangled Banner artists rendering.bmp. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, their copyright should also be acknowledged.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 01:59, 6 September 2009 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. –Drilnoth (T • C • L) 01:59, 6 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Senate regulations

Please note that Wikipedia is not for original text of documents. Please write articles about such regulations, not just copy the rules. DJ Clayworth (talk) 21:17, 30 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

That's OK if you are going to expand them. However you should still not be copying the entire regulation to the article. Note other examples such as Constitution of the Unisted States of America which does not do this. Please move towards these articles being about the regulations. Move problem

Good day Neutrality! I think this is the first time we've spoken. Unfortunately I take issue with the move you performed to History of Confederate States Army Generals, pointing it to General officers in the Confederate States Army. Here are my beefs with this:

  1. I intended it to mirror the naming of an existing article covering like material: History of United States generals.
  2. This move wreaks many, many piped links dealing with ranks within the Confederate Army, such as Maj. Gen. (CSA), Lieutenant General (CSA), Full General (CSA), Brig. Gen. (CSA), Militia General (CSA), and lots of others that section-piped into the relevant parts of the article. Most of the Confederate general bios use these, easily seen if you click on any of the links here.
  3. The numerous redirects this move causes, taking a look at this page for instance, given how many articles contained links to the prior name.
  4. My own personal hatred of redirects!

OK those last two are more my problem, but I would appreciate you views on this anyway. Good Day! Kresock (talk) 02:30, 14 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Better source request for File:John Kerry real deal.jpg

Thanks for uploading File:John Kerry real deal.jpg. You provided a source, but it is difficult for other users to examine the copyright status of the image because the source is incomplete. Please consider clarifying the exact source so that the copyright status may be checked more easily. It is best to specify the exact Web page where you found the image, rather than only giving the source domain or the URL of the image file itself. Please update the image description with a URL that will be more helpful to other users in determining the copyright status.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source in a complete manner. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Article Incubator Invitation for Bocconi School of Law Student-Edited Papers

Considering your previous experience editing articles on law journals, feel free to cooperate if you have any practical ideas to help establish notability. Incidentally, let me anticipate that the journal is actually the first student-edited legal working paper series, which has been created in Europe better to adapt to the editorial panorama of the Old Continent, where student-edited law reviews are not nearly as popular as they are in the US. I have already provided references (e.g. an article appeared on the German Law Journal) for these claims. US National Park Rangers

Hi Neutrality, I've been looking over the Ranger pages recently, and I've noticed that way back in 2008 you moved US National Park Rangers to National Park Ranger. I was wondering if there'd been any discussion about it and if you could point me in the right direction. I'm a little concerned that the article may now need a worldview tag, because its describing a worldwide profession in the title, but limited to US in the article (ironically the article was created to avoid just such a tag at Park Ranger!). I have no prob with a US specific article, but there are NP Rangers all around the world (a profession that isn't covered specifically in Park Ranger either) so I'd have thought country specifying the title would be more sensible. Any thoughts? Ranger Steve (talk) 14:49, 12 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

We appreciate your contributions, but the nominator doesn't believe that the article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in his/her nomination (see also Wikipedia:Notability and "What Wikipedia is not").

Your opinions on whether the article meets inclusion criteria and what should be done with the article are welcome; please participate in the discussion(s) by adding your comments to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/William Rivers Pitt (2nd nomination). Governors of Alaska

You've split this article in two and created two gimped articles.

The article on an office should contain information about its powers, how you become it, the qualifications, etc. An article on the people who have served it should include an introduction on it, establishing what it is; how the list changes from governor to governor (i.e. when elections are, how succession works); and finally, the list.

You have turned one article into including only the succession information and a random paragraph about how Alaska became a state, and one article into having only a list. You have turned one complete articles into two articles which, together, are less than half complete.

I will be undoing this move/split. An example to look at when attempting this in the future is the difference between Governor of California and List of Governors of California; the list contains the people who were governor and the mechanisms by which entries to that list are added or changed, and the article on the office contains all of the information about the office itself. And not a random paragraph about the origin of the state. --Golbez (talk) 00:36, 15 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, an article on the office needs all of the stuff that's in the list article - and more. It lacked that. Therefore, you removed the stuff that was relevant to the list article, and added nothing additional that is required of an article on the office. As for the nature of unilateral edits, I think I am quite aware as to how Wikipedia works. The edits needed to be reversed because you turned a featured list, recognized by the greater community as one of Wikipedia's best works, into two less-than-whole articles that would never have passed GA, let alone be featured. I have no problem with being bold, however splitting a featured list without ever having engaged yourself with the article in the past seems, to me, reckless. I think the split could be vastly performed better, but I do not at present have the content necessary to execute that. Therefore, reverting was the only reasonable option. And in any case, a split needs to maintain the succession information on the list article. --Golbez (talk) 03:18, 15 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Good job on starting the splits, Neutrality. A list article should contain primarily a list, not several paragraphs of material better covered elsewhere. It's sad to see a good move reverted wholesale, but I've encountered similar problems myself on these governors articles. I no longer deal with tenditious editors, so I'll also be moving on too. - BilCat (talk) 06:50, 15 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I will drop the stick. Just please, in the future, seek consensus before destroying a featured list. Thank you. --Golbez (talk) 18:21, 15 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Opinion needed!

As a frequent editor of American politics, I would appreciate if you put your two cents into the debate over the conservative support for President Obama in Talk:Public image of Barack Obama. Thanks.--Jerzeykydd (talk) 23:09, 24 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Monobook. js

hey, I saw you write scripts? so I assume you are also good with monobook (whatever its called). I kinda new here, and because I use an VERY old version of Netscape, I cannot view my preferences. I've already tried everything they told me at the help page, but it doesn't work. What I'm asking you to help me with is to help me create a signature without needing to put it into preferences (not "create" the signature for me, but allow me to sign with ~ and have it come up). Thanks so much! Purlot (talk) 07:19, 5 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Legal principles

I see that you moved the category "legal principles." The philosophy department has been organizing things so as to distinguish theories and concepts. Currently there is a category "theories of law" which is consistent with all the rest of the theories category tree. However there is no "legal concepts" category. That role had been fulfilled by "legal principles." So I think you have created a redundant category much of which (but not all) can be merged into "theories of law." TS bombing

Hi. I get that you are trying to shorten an over-long header, but I don't think that edit is an improvement, and would encourage you to consider reverting it. First, it is less informative, as it drops "U.S." -- the reader doesn't know the country, from the header. Second, the word is less understood than citizenship. Third, it is more syllables. Make sense?--Epeefleche (talk) 02:26, 11 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

name change

Neutrality, I am confused as to why you renamed the APRN page back to advanced practice nurse and CRNA page back to the nurse anesthetist name. I changed the name so that would reflect the actual official names of both the profession and the specialty. If both advanced practice nurse and nurse anesthetist going to be redirected to the appropriate pages then I am not sure of your motivation. Can you please explain your logic. I reviewed the MOS guidelines and don't see how they justify your changing them back. (Fiftytoone (talk) 01:17, 19 May 2010 (UTC))[reply]
