Hello! My name is Belugaboy, and by now, you and I both have heard of the Motto Shop, and if not, there's a Motto Shop! It's an exclusive place where users can get their own motto to live by on the wiki. It's great, but we're really running slow, in fact, we haven't seen a customer in months. So we thought YOU, the contributors to Motto of the Day, could spread the word to your WikiFriends, heck, order yourself one, whether you have or haven't before. Thank you and warm regards to all of you!
You have propossed the Merge of Gina Del Rosario and her sister, I haven't seeen something like this in wikipedia, the article from the twins Del Rosario, seriously. Are you going to add some reasons for the merge in the apropiate discussion? Oscar12:53, 10 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]
There is always a first time to everything. Anyway, Gina and Ginette, well, I thought they were the same person. Thanks for the notice, I removed the Merge templates from those pages, and added a line about that to both lead sections. –pjoef (talk • contribs) 17:06, 10 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Even though today's motto was not a special nom, I still think it is very relevant. There is no point in changing a motto halfway through the day anyway. Simply south......"time, department skies" for 5 years14:19, 31 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Your Motto Shop Request
Hello there. We at the Motto Shop have completed your motto, but please remember you need to select a template for your motto to be delivered in, and afterwards we'd appreciate it if you'd rate the motto. However, specifying whether you'd like an original or quoted motto is not mandatory. Thanks for requesting, and happy editing! Belugaboycup of tea?22:49, 2 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I am a new wiki-editor and have just made this page http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Moogfest I am still working on it, and I was wondering if you had any suggestions for me. Here's my talkback too.
Hi, I have nominated the above category for deletion as per precedent. I would normally have proposed "split" - please see my reasoning and add any comments you may wish. Cheers --Richhoncho (talk) 08:42, 6 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Hi there! I thought you might be interested in WikiProject Wikify's December Wikification Backlog Elimination Drive. We'll be trying to reduce the backlog size by over 1,000 articles and we need your help! Hard-working participants in the drive will receive awards for their contributions, including a brand new one for the single largest wikified article! All you have to do is put an asterisk next to the largest article you've wikified, and coordinators will check its wordcount after the drive ends. If you have a spare moment, please join and wikify an article or tell your friends. Thanks!
Note: The drive starts December 1, and you can sign up today!
I just thought I would ask you if you realise you've nominated two mottos for the same day in the specials section? Simply south......"time, department skies" for 5 years
On 4 December 2011, Did you know? was updated with a fact from the article Garageland (song), which you created or substantially expanded. The fact was ... that a critic's calling The Clash a "garage band" that ought to be "returned to the garage ... with the motor still running" prompted the band to write the song "Garageland"? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Garageland (song). You are welcome to check how many hits the article got while on the front page (here's how, quick check) and add it to DYKSTATS if it got over 5,000. If you know of another interesting fact from a recently created article, then please suggest it on the Did you know? talk page.
Thank you Pjoef for the kind message. I surely would be pleased to continue working on it. I also created a stub on the Simple English Wiki, as i've been working a bit on punk-rock over there. Wikipedia policy allows us to link to legal streamed copies of albums. It would be useful to draw up a guideline on how and when to link to such albums; however, there is concern that it may not be appropriate as the music would not be available in all parts of the world. Is the benefit of having access to the music for most users outweighed by the fact that some users will follow a link to find the music is not playable in their region? Your view would be helpful at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Albums. SilkTork✔Tea time02:30, 16 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

In the talk page of the article Novus ordo seclorum you created a new section: Seclorum or Saeclorum? I think you may be right. I'm no Latin expert, but Google Translate doesn't have anything for Seclorum, but it does have a translation for Saeclorum. MotD 2012-01-04
I think that this was a bit premature. I put the other nomination under as a subsection because it was for the same day; you should have let discussion occur with the second one before deciding what should happen for that day. The fact that you even considered having that be the motto for Wikipedia's birthday when we actually have an alternative now is astounding. I really think that you should undo the closing of that. Reply here, if you don't mind. ~~ Hi878(Come shout at me!)05:10, 4 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you. As for the obscuration, this occurred to me just as i was typing (well, pasting) the motto… especially as i had just gone and supported a full blackout for that very same Jan 18 (yes, lol). However in the event that the blackout should be only partial or even non-existent, the motto would be visible.
I thought i could contact some frequent MotD contributors about the nom but only a couple came to mind… i shall see what i can do.
PS. yes, i like the userbox :-) but i didn't notice it until you mentioned it (honest). i have copied/tweaked it into my page too - i think x10 is very effective ! benzband (talk) 20:34, 16 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I believe we were possible going to have the motto be on the 19th instead; in the nomination I suggested that we have it for both the 19th and the 18th, so that it is there on the relevant day, and people still see it. What do you think? ~~ Hi878(Come shout at me!)23:01, 17 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on :Wikipedia:Motto of the day/January 22, 2012 requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.
If the external website belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. Thanks for your reply. I was pointing out the edit because i didn't know what to do —i didn't know if "traditional" was even supposed to be there in the first place. Also see Special:Contributions/71.246.149.26 : all his edits have been changing/removing genres in The Clash articles, leaving only "punk rock" (which may or may not always be accurate). Hi. When you recently edited Robin Hood (bicycles), you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Raleigh (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.
A central location to list the shared resources of our project has been created. If you own any books that you use frequently in your editing and that you are willing to share please add them to the list.

Hey, there. I've been doing a little bit of wikifying of some articles and was wondering if you would have a look at List of products by Dapol and let me know if there's any more wikifying I could do to this article. I have no knowledge of the topic, so can't really add any content or even judge the existing content. Also, I have no interest in the topic, so I don't have much motivation to research a lot to add any more. I've done some extensive research already to find the accurate links I've added.
Congratulations! (and of course thankyou ;-) for successfully clearing category:Unassessed Punk music articles, and even going beyond and generally improving said articles xD
Hi. Thanks for your contributions to fixing links to disambiguation pages! However, please be careful when editing Wikipedia:Disambiguation pages with links/March 2012. Twice today, you copied pages into the "Done" section without removing them from the "To Do" section, and in fact neither of these pages (Dissociation and Kalyan) were actually done; they both still have a significant number of incoming links. When they are finally done, please be sure you edit both sections of the list. Thanks. --R'n'B (call me Russ) 19:15, 3 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, I take the point, and have left a bit more in. But there are major problems with autobiographies, and hard pruning is needed here. Springnuts (talk) 08:48, 4 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Hi pjoef, thank you for the work that you've been doing with disambiguations in classics related articles (and the 1,000-or-so others over the past 5 days)! I wonder if you might leave a few wlinks alone in cases where you aren't positive that you're pointing people the right way. For example, in the case of "oratory", it will rarely warrant a link to "eloquence" in articles about Greco-Roman antiquity. In other places a link to a dab page probably needs to stand, the sentence needs to be researched and rewritten or the wlink simply needs to go (like several instances of "canonical", which is simply an English word that should never have been linked in many cases). I'm sure that neither I nor any of the other people who watch these classics pages would be peeved if you simply mass-tagged the doubtful links "dab needed". I do, whenever I run into these tags, try my best to solve the problem, and I know that other people who edit in classics do, too. Still, I appreciate your efforts with these reams of dab links you're fixing. Yours, — cardiff | chestnut — 19:49, 5 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]
And I'll keep an eye out, too. I know you're just trying to efficiently clean up the lapses and laziness of the rest of us, so if I see one of yours on my watchlist I'll be sure to give it the attention it deserves. (It'll keep me honest so far as writing wlinks and make me think, anyway.) And happy diambiguating, to you! — cardiff | chestnut — 20:38, 5 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]
You're changing every notion of ninjutsu into "Modern Schools of Ninjutsu", but what "modern school" for Ayame (Tenchu), a 17th century character? What "Modern School" (Random Capitalization Galore) is for Mai Shiranui and her FICTIONAL Shiranui-ryu? They're all FICTIONAL characters, using some sort of ninjutsu and that's all. --194.145.185.229 (talk) 16:27, 6 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hey there Pjoef, and first I wanna thank you for consistently helping out in the Wikification drives. Now, real quickly, I apologize for not having clearer instructions but the wordcount leaderboard award thing is for actual words in the article prior to wikification, not characters added or anything else. Again, I'm sorry we weren't clearer, but the article you posted only had a wordcount of 522 prior to your work, short of the other submission. Do you know how to use the wordcount tool? I can go through the articles you've wikified if you'd like them to be checked. NoleloverTalk·Contribs04:49, 10 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]
