    Cross-posted at WP:COIN: 68.20.235.182 (talk · contribs · WHOIS) has been adding external links to Legacy.com to biographies for months.     Help required at Guy Harvey

    I'm getting dangerously close to the 3RR rule on the Guy Harvey article, if I have not indeed already overstepped it. When I came across this article [1] there were 5 links to sites (although not to 5 different sites). Note that this is supposed to be a biography. I have welcomed User:74.195.92.17 but this IP address keeps returning with more.     I've semi protected the page for a month due to the long term nature of the spamming. if the spamming persists during the protection with any new accounts, or continues after the protection expires, report back as other measures may be taken. thanks.--Hu12 (talk) 23:56, 10 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

    Lcwujc seems to be a spam-only account. The account has made a dozen changes in the last couple of weeks, but all of them seem to be to create links to http://www.paintinghere.com, a store that sells prints of artworks.

    The user has only gotten one warning, but since this seems to be a spam-only account, I wonder whether we should go ahead and block? -- Narsil (talk) 19:29, 10 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

    I just cleaned up a bunch of msplinks redirects--they are not always spam per se, but they seem to often occur in spammy pages. Maybe some folks here would like to watch for them regularly, if you're not already doing that. Here is a simple python script for decoding them:

   print a.split('/')[-1].decode('base64')

    Just paste each link after the '*' prompt and it will show the decoded link.
