A Mary Brown's restaurant in Guelph, ON

Mary Brown's is a Canadian fast-food restaurant chain most popular for it's Big Mary fillet sandwich, fried chicken and "taters" or potato wedges. The company is primarily located in the province of Newfoundland and Labrador with a few locations scattered throughout Alberta and Ontario in addition to two locations in Nova Scotia.

In Fort McMurray, Alberta, given the large concentration of Newfoundland and Labrador expats in the city, the Mary Brown's locations are wildly popular. In the spring of 2008 one Oilsands contractor charted a Helicopter to ferry enough Chicken and tatters to feed 700 people!

These two locations, owned by John Gardiner & Partners and managed by Rhonda Deanne Cirez consistently beat every other franchise in total Sales.

Founded in 1969, Mary Brown's now employs approximately 800 people in 70 locations across Canada. In 2008 and 2009 twelve stores in Alberta and Ontario became 100% Halal[1].
