I suggest you re-apply for GA status, improvements have been made soundly. Universal Hero (talk) 13:50, 27 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Re: Re: Riya Sen

Hi there! Yes, I've been watching it since I lay my eyes upon it during its last GAN. I will share my comments within the next 6 hours. However, what shocked me is that its talk page says that the article is listed as a part of the Pornography portal. Did you notice that?! :O Mspraveen (talk) 11:19, 29 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Upon my search, this action was performed by User:Arundhati lejeune. I don't quite see sense in doing so. Thoughts? Mspraveen (talk) 11:27, 29 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I hope you didn't mind me relocating few paragraphs here and there. I did so in order to see some consistency in the sections. Furthermore, I did some copy-editing to my knowledge. But, I know there are far too many editors out there who are better than me in this. I will be seeing this once again to make improvements, particularly in the last section that I haven't seen much as yet. Btw, where are you from? Mspraveen (talk) 05:05, 30 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Read this. Mspraveen (talk) 16:22, 1 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Sad, but if this were to succeed in its further nominations, say A-class/FA, his arguments are perfect. I saw it with Mr. and Mrs. Iyer FAC. Hence free images are in hot demand! Try and see if you can find someone to release a good modeling image of hers under GFDL. Mspraveen (talk) 16:59, 1 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I'll have a read later. Riya Sen is very hot huh? I can see you are a hot blooded male! lol ♦Blofeld of SPECTRE♦ $1,000,000? 12:42, 29 March 2008 (UTC) Yes I find her very attractive too. I've had a quick glance and off hand it looks like it needs a good deal of work to become a GA. Some of the more controversial statements will need referencing in places, and some of the wording is clumsy in places and doesn't flow -hence it needs a thorough copy edit. It also looks like in places there are still a few peacock words and POV issues which need to be addressed. I'll read more into it later ♦Blofeld of SPECTRE♦ $1,000,000? 14:52, 29 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

One of my favourites is Haifa Wehbe a gorgeous Lebanese singer and model. Have a look here ♦Blofeld of SPECTRE♦ $1,000,000? 15:03, 29 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

My edit to Thong (clothing)

Hi, I was actually going to do something with that list, and indeed I have added what i consider to be the notable bits in a section on controversy, and have nominated "Thongs in the news" for deletion as it is, as you say, an utter waste of space. -mattbuck (Talk) 21:23, 12 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Riya Sen

No problem. ShahidTalk2me 15:54, 19 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Needs much copyediting, as I see now in other sections. I'll make some improvements and then comment. ShahidTalk2me 15:51, 19 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I've made major copyediting, grammar correction, etc., and in my opinion it looks better. I'm yet to go through the personal life section. What do you say? ShahidTalk2me 17:10, 19 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I've looked over it its improved a lot since I last looked and it; I've made some changes including a new image. I think it needs a good bit of copy editing to be honest. Some of the phrases and sentences are quite awkward and will need complete altering. ♦Blofeld of SPECTRE♦ $1,000,000? 18:14, 19 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

"Riya Sen, since joining Bollywood, has become a representative of the aspirations of younger people of India by way of her clothing style, kissing scenes and outgoing manners" -this is far too generalized and POV however much of a model she is. All the stuff on the glitzy parties and bikinis. Much of that reads like blog and will have to be seriously cut and reworded ♦Blofeld of SPECTRE♦ $1,000,000? 18:23, 19 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hello there! I'm just as excited as you are for the Riya Sen's GA nomination. I hope your patient wait will be worth it! How are you, btw? Whats keeping you busy these days? Cheers! Mspraveen (talk) 15:44, 14 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hi there. Good to hear from you. I'm doing fine. Thank you. I'm not quite sure about any further failures for the article. I'll be around, so in case you need any assistance while it is being reviewed, you know whom to ping. Btw, I didn't understand your allusion to recession - as in the Bangla's economy? Cheers! Mspraveen (talk) 16:51, 20 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Sex symbol

Avoid the phrase if your only sources are random articles from the cinema section of regional papers, please. The phrase means something specific with sociological connotations, and in other film articles is placed only with care. Remember that some Indian papers tend to use phrases without that much care; for example, I can google pretty much every major female Bollywood star and discover dozens of references calling them a sex symbol. That basically renders it meaningless and unencyclopaedic based on that quality ref.

--Relata refero (disp.) 11:26, 3 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hi there. In your recent edit to Thong (clothing) [1], you supplied an edit summary of: "we can't have refs before the copy, wikipedia doesn't work that way." I am rather confused as to what you meant by that. Could you please explain in greater detail? Thanks Seidenstud (talk) 09:11, 17 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

two questions

Isn't it standard procedure to put Template:Delrev on the deleted/deletable page as described by WP:DRV instructions? I found the edit summary a bit derogatory. Are image discussions and actions supposed to be inherently rude? Aditya(talkcontribs) 01:24, 27 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

{{delrev}} is usually used only for pages which have a keep decision appealed or which are restored during a DRV so that people can see the previous content. Image description pages without an actual image to correspond to them are deleted as a general standard. As for the description, it's taken directly from the deletion dropdown. Yeah, I'm interested, though most of my wikitime atm is taken up on the commons. More images and less red tape :p -mattbuck (Talk) 08:36, 29 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hi! Started working on describing some notable scenes of the film. Please have a look at this sandbox. Two options are there. One, describing several scenes in multiple subsections (ala the themes section of Tenebrae (film)). Otherwise, a single section of "scenes" (in which case it will be much larger, even after cutting and copyediting). Please help. If we can reach a respectable look, the section can be included in the article. Regards.--Dwaipayan (talk) 13:54, 29 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Bikini/Borat

Hi, you edited out my Borat/mankini/YouTube link today, which is fine – I do see your point. However, stale though the joke may be, I saw (again) 2 stag do's using mankinis this very weekend in the UK. It's still very popular, so I think it's worth noting (even minorly) as a cultural transfer phenomenon. I'd say so, anyway. Yeah? I tried looking for the subsection you mentioned ("(cur) (last) 14:58, 2 June 2008 Aditya Kabir (Talk | contribs) (35,705 bytes) (that borat joke is getting stale, you may put it in the movies sub-section under the popular culture section") but can't find any movies sub-section. Let me know what I can do, if anything. Sorry, I'm a virgin at these things, so I don't really know how this works. Thanks for your help, Kieron.

I would suggest either a block, or a semi-protection for the article. The only serious contributors to the article recently seemed to have been registered users. The IP is only interested in pushing one point. A semi-protect might lead to the person getting bored and moving on. Rossrs (talk) 13:21, 19 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. I'm an admin working the copyright problems board and just wanted to say good work on catching copyright violations in that article! I've joined you in your effort to address those and believe that I've removed or revised everything that followed too closely still on the sources pasted in. As important a man as he seems to have been, I can see why he attracts outside contributors, but I do wish that they would familiarize themselves with our copyright policies before adding text. Anyway, good job. :) --Moonriddengirl (talk) 18:12, 20 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I'll give you Social aspects of clothing and to a lesser extent Voyeurism (though I highly disagree with this one as well), but how do you explain Wedgie, Whale tail, Downblouse and Upskirt, when none of these subjects involve a "defect" in an article of clothing or accidental exposure of one's body part? These all imply either a deliberate exposure or simply the visual effect of an article of clothing - not a result in an exposure due to a defect. The Bookkeeper (of the Occult) 08:47, 31 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

In context, now I can see how those terms apply with the expansion you've given to the article. Though on a personal level I still disagree. There is obviously a big difference in a defect in an article of clothing and an intentional display, but ...whatever. Nice job so far. The Bookkeeper (of the Occult) 19:50, 31 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Biman Bangladesh Airlines on MainPage

Hi Aditya,

Hope you are well. Been a while since I did any real stuff here on WP due to other commitments but noticed that Biman Bangladesh Airlines is scheduled for the mainpage on Sunday, 28th September. It's been a while since it became FA and there have been major changes to the organisation since then. I'll try and spare some time to brush it up a bit. Please take a look and keep an eye during its mainpage debut. Thanks. → AA (talk)11:19, 25 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Dear AK, don't you think we need a separate article on string bikini? I also feel that we can make our Bikini article a "good article". New problem

After adding the Bangladesh University of Professionals in List of universities in Bangladesh, we have got only 28 public universities. But according to daily star reporting Bangladesh University of Professionals is the 29th public university in Bangladesh. We have lost one, which one? Tanvir che (talk) 05:45, 18 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Dear Aditya, we can write another article titled head of the government of Bangladesh. The history of the government of Bangladesh is not straight, some times it was under presidential and some times it was under the parliamentary system. So, we can start an individual article on the Head of the Government of Bangladesh. We will contribute as our capacity. --Anwarul Islam (talk) 15:49, 23 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Bangladesh structures

Hi mate. How are you? Thanks for your appreciation, it always comes at times when I think my work is not appreciated by others. Yes I've recently created not only Bangladesh but a whole set of Asian structure tenmplates here. What we need to do is completely get rid of the "‹The template Category link is being considered for merging.› Category:Asian building and structure stubs" by splitting by country. In order for this to be valid we need 60 articles on buildings for each asian country. It was ridiculous I came across an article on an Azeri TV tower and it had an "asia-struct stub" tag attatched to it with a picture of Angkot Wat Cambodia. I was saying the other day that it would be like an Irish pub in Dublin having a Euro-struct tag on it depicting Hagia Sophia mosque in Istanbul! I would love to see Bangladesh more developed on wikipedia, eventually the aim of course is we root out every stub into a fuller article, but I am fuller aware of the vast content that is missing across the country. At present everything seems to be very centred on Dhaka mostly and Chittagong. Anyway I've left most of the schools in Bangladesh because I have proposed a {{Bangladesh-school-stub}}. Thought you might be interested, Take careBlofeld of SPECTRE (talk) 16:56, 23 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Here. Education seems pretty well covered for Bangladesh in comparison and it would probably be necessary to split the schools from the unversities and other educational institutions which would also take away the general asia-school-stub tooBlofeld of SPECTRE (talk) 10:57, 24 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Indian sub-continent, South Asia

I know you're not being a dick! One of the problems with this mess of Indian articles (and I agree that it is a mess) is that there seem to be a multiplicity of political undercurrents that are driving their creation. British India, British Raj, British Rule in India, Company Rule in India, Princely States is a case in point. In the case of South Asia and the Indian Subcontinent the case is a lot simpler. We have three articles where there should be two. One for the tectonic plate thing and one for the South Asia/Indian subcontinent thing. On the political dimension, both terms, 'Indian subcontinent' as well as 'South Asia' refer to the same political area. Though South Asia is the more modern term, Indian subcontinent is used as (if not more) often in the academic world. I recognize that the term 'Indian' downplays the presence of non-Indian countries in the region, and also recognize that the preferred political term is South Asia and feel that we should do the following:

  • Have only two articles, one for the tectonic plate and one for the political entity
  • Title the political entity 'South Asia' with Indian subcontinent redirecting to South Asia
  • Ensure that the Indian subcontinent term is recognized as being equivalent to South Asia in the lead

It seems to me that that is the correct way to proceed. I see you have an interest in sorting this mess out so let me know what you think. --Regents Park (sink with my stocks) 15:27, 26 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Whale Tail

You may want to look at Template:Cite book, which gives a better description of how to cite books. They are not cited with a weblink they are usually cited then added to the notes section. But citing Book Name (Page 20) in the middle of a sentence is wrong. And you can't violate 3RR if you are adding and citing material. So you are fine on that count, I was trying to remove the information while I found the right page to refer you to. Darrenhusted (talk) 13:51, 28 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Your changes to the Bikini Waxing article have been reverted

I've had to restore the image for a second time. It is entirely consistent with other articles on body modification such as the tatoo article or genital piercing to illustrate the article with images that show examples of such processes. Even though the image doesn't explicitly state it is the result of a wax the results are consistent with those that are. The only legitimate reason for removing the photo would be if the effect clearly couldn't be produced by waxing, or clearly states that the effect was not the result of waxing. Neither of those criteria apply to the image in question. The case for replacing the photo would be if one could be found that clearly stated it was the result of the waxing process or better illustrated the process. In this case it would be appropriate to remove the current photo and replace with another. However, the recent changes to the article have been clearly to remove the photo without making any attempt to replace it. This can only constitute a censorious agenda and consitutes vandalism to the article. If it persists then article protection will have to be applied for. Betty Logan (talk) 04:22, 20 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry, ignore this. I didn't scan down the article so hadn't realise you had only relocated the image. Please accept my apologies. Betty Logan (talk) 04:36, 20 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The missing image is has the template: To prevent the use of this image for vandalism, it can only be used on pages for which it is specifically allowed. To use this image legitimately, such as in an article about human anatomy or physiology, contact an administrator either directly or by posting a request on the administrators' noticeboard or MediaWiki talk:Bad image list. Looks like just more en.wp admins being tetchy about anything vaguely penis-related to me, there's no reason to have this image protected. -mattbuck (Talk) 16:18, 28 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

This sort of shit is why I prefer commons. We don't keep obscure lists of stuff you're not allowed to use which is no different than 1000 other images you can. That being said, there is an ongoing debate over whether Peter Klashorst images should be included, whether they violate model rights, possibly use underage models, etc etc etc. Just you're right, en.wp has so much fucking red tape. -mattbuck (Talk) 03:26, 29 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

List of Prime Ministers of Bangladesh

Dear, we may change the existing list of Prime Minister's Of Bangladesh. Why will we add the Head of the Government at the List of Prime Ministers of Bangladesh? But we may include another column to show the status of the Prime Ministers (eg. Head of the Govt or Head of the State). Presidents should not be included here. Please let me know.--Anwarul Islam (talk) 10:09, 13 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

C-string

Please see Talk:Thong (clothing)#C-string. ·:· Will Beback ·:· 18:55, 12 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

First off, the Image: namespace is now a redirect to File:, so it doesn't need to be image rather than file. I'm afraid I don't know much about non-free images, I'd just find some way to put "all rights reserved" on it and leave it at that. -mattbuck (Talk) 13:01, 14 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hey mate, I finally got around to finding a tankini image like you asked. Unfortunately, not too much luck. The only free one is this, which isn't great. I did however find a rabbit wearing a tankini. However, I've left messages for several people asking if they'll relicence, and the photographer of this picture has given permission in private, just getting the licence changed. Oh, and I remember being involved in an argument over a c-string image. Well, I found this one, but can't remember where the argument was, so figured I'd just let you know. -mattbuck (Talk) 04:33, 15 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I deleted File:Riya-sen-in-black.jpg as a copyvio. Thanks for bringing it to my attention. I shall also block the uploader for ignoring my previous warnings and nuke his uploads. -mattbuck (Talk) 17:11, 17 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Thing is, that wasn't even a difficult copyvio - would have failed flickrreview automatically, if the bot were working atm. But we get tonnes of copyvios on commons - that one guy uploaded about 20 images. -mattbuck (Talk) 19:48, 17 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

While searching for tankini images, I came across the "trikini" quite a bit - might be notable. -mattbuck (Talk) 17:21, 26 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Bikini and world heritage site

Dear Aditya Kabir, please explain your revert of my edit on the Bikini article. My goal was to copyedit the section to reduce the detail not directly linked with Bikini. It contains a lot of detail about the mosaics in general. Unless there is a link between fact that the mosaics are a world heritage site and that they depict bikinis, there is no benefit mentioning it in this article. Inwind (talk) 08:35, 15 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Generally the earliest finds of anything which has a old enough story to tell does it in as much details as possible in the early part, and gradually become more constrained. That's how encyclopedias, academic journals, magazines and newspapers go in style of writing. The article is very much in under construction, and it would be greatly beneficial if we stop removing stuff, rather than strengthening the weak spots. I perfectly appreciate your concern, but method-wise, I guess, we need to keep it for now. Since the article is being worked on, very much, just have a bit ore patient. You'll have ample time to remove almost anything you don't like later. Aditya(talkcontribs) 09:30, 15 December 2008 (UTC)(copied from User talk:Inwind#Re: Bikini)[reply]
Everyone should win since there is no loss of information. I enjoy working interactively with other people, sometimes on whole articles, sometimes only on certain aspects. I believe in continuous improvement, i.e. people do not edit without reason. If more contributers are working on an article more views can be included.Inwind (talk) 10:04, 15 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

explanation

The record shows you moved Isa Khan (Guantanamo detainee 23) to Isa Khan (Guantanamo detainee). Your edit summary said: "(moved Isa Khan (Guantanamo detainee 23) to Isa Khan (Guantanamo detainee): Why 23? It's inhuman and it's not needed.)"

I am sure you thought this was an obvious move. I disagree.

The actual identity of the Guantanamo captives is surprisingly muddy. The Guantanamo camp authorities did an absolutely abysmal job of keeping track of their names. Allegations wander from dossier to dossier. There are sets of captives who faced the exact same allegations, because camp authorities did a bad job telling captives apart. There are at least half a dozen captives whose names would normally have been transliterated identically. And camp authorities came up with multiple poorly thought out, incompatible renaming schemes for these captives.

I wanted the wikipedia to do a better job of distinguishing Guantanamo captives apart than the Guantanamo camp authorities. So, for the several dozen captives whose names required disambiguation I named their articles according to the rubric Joe Blow (Guantanaamo captive Nnn). Some of these captives whose names require disambiguation are like Isa Khan -- they require disambiguation from individuals who aren't other captives. But that is less than half. I personally think it was unwise to have two distinct disambiguation schemes. Geo Swan (talk) 01:32, 5 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Comment duplicated below for convenience:

Relevant policy says the flag may be used the first time the country is listed, the point at which you are removing the flags is the point at which they are first mentioned. Flags at the moment are only used in "Definitions and Usage" and "Territory and region data", I do not understand your flag problem, the case is no longer that there is excessive use of flags considering they are now only placed twice, both in relevant localities. Flags present in the initial list is not against Wikipedia policy Thegreyanomaly (talk) 05:42, 12 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Thegreyanomaly (talk) 05:52, 12 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

You said it does "But, the relevant policy doesn't say so [that flags in the beginning are ok]", but WP:FLAG does not say anywhere flags in the list go against Wikipedia policy, in fact it even puts down guidelines for how flags are to be used in a list (as I cquoted before). You cannot really consider much for consensus if you have only two people (you and me) editing the article and considering you were the one making the "controversial edit", I was the one undoing it. The flags in the list are years old, you are the only and first person I know of to try (and I have a long history on this page) to get rid of them (this is excluding the people who removed the once present Tibet flag from page, as this is a conflict regarding Tibet's sovereignty and not Wikipedia policy). WP:FILMS Coordinator nominations

Regarding this edit [2]

This edit you made makes that section very unclear, so I reverted it. Your edit makes it become very difficult to read. Please do not revert back to your version

Also, the format you made does not have an relevance to the Manual of Style. Please do not misread the MOS as you did regarding flags. Thegreyanomaly (talk) 20:55, 13 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

If you are going to revert the page once again, I would request that you do not revert other parts of the article. Furthermore, I requested an RfC on the page, so that a third opinion may come in. Thegreyanomaly (talk) 08:44, 15 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Jayne Mansfield rumours (again)

I really don't think this belongs here; for one thing it was inserted, IIRC, by banned sockpuppeteer User:Harvey Carter whose attitude to reliable sources was always suspect. Looking at the cited sources, the first cannot be regarded as a third-party source, and the second looks like a tabloid-writer's hatchet-job. Per WP:REDFLAG, I've deleted this section pending proper sourcing, which I will look into. Although it's not a WP:BLP issue, we still have a responsibility to report relevant and reliably-sourced material. --Rodhullandemu 19:21, 14 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

WP:FILMS Coordinator Election

Dhaka article

I am kind of busy right now, I am wondering if you can do it. Someone need to fix the citations in Dhaka's article. Most of the citations are messed up. All the citations need to be in the same format (I recommend making all the citations in APA format WP:Citing_sources/example_style since most of the article already is in the APA format) and all the citations need the required informations such as author, date of the article, retrieved date, format and etc as recommended by wikipedia (WP:CITE). For example, "Town planning for Bangladesh : Vision 2020". The Daily Star. 2008-11-08. http://www.thedailystar.net/story.php?nid=62337. Retrieved on 2008-12-15." is missing the author and is cited in MLA format (in APA format, the date should be after the author NOT near the end). Tarikur (talk) 16:51, 24 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

AfD nomination of Cryptic Fate

An editor has nominated Cryptic Fate, an article which you have created or worked on, for deletion. We appreciate your contributions, but the nominator doesn't believe that the article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in his/her nomination (see also "What Wikipedia is not").

Your opinions on whether the article meets inclusion criteria and what should be done with the article are welcome; please participate in the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Cryptic Fate and please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~).

You may also edit the article during the discussion to improve it but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion debate. Thank you. Jezhotwells (talk) 23:03, 8 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Photos

Are meant to illustrate a point, so it is accepted (and I suggest you look as any FA for use of photos) that is two pictures essentially portray the same thing then only one needs to be kept, hence one of those pictures is redundant. By all means put the other picture back in, but you would have to remove the other. Also you are on your third revert on that page so I would step back from it for a while and you may want to read WP:OWN, I understand you have done a lot of work to that page, kudos, but you don't own it and wikipedia policies and guidelines trump everything. I would suggest you give them a quick read, if you were un-aware that articles are not meant to be overload with pictures then it suggests you are not fully versed in the finer points of WP. Darrenhusted (talk) 16:12, 9 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

You weren't trapped in to 3RR, you made three reverts, you could have stopped after the first, or the second however you didn't. The other editor said "superfluous" and "redundant", you reverted saying to build a consensus on the talk page but you didn't make a case for keeping the image. Instead you attacked those who had reverted you and implied a 3RR trap. If you want consensus then you have it, at the moment, 2:1 to keep the image out as it is redundant. The two images show the same thing, so if you want, pick which one is the best, then keep that but there is no point in having two images showing the exact same thing. And on the talk page the other editor did already establish a consensus, in August, when the picture was changed. You stated in November that you wanted to get it up to FA, that's not going to happen with two pictures. You need to show a whale tail (on a whale) a whale tail (on a car) and a whale tail (on a woman). The article has these, duplicate pictures would be the first thing that an FA reviewer would ask to be changed. You got the article to GA, but fighting over something that goes against policy is never going to improve an article. Darrenhusted (talk) 17:47, 9 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I clearly mentioned in the edit summary that the gallery was imported to, and not from, Indianized kingdom. The gallery should be removed from the article on Indianized kingdom since not all images in this gallery are linked to the concerned topic. Hello, I noticed your signature is Aditya, even though your username is Aditya Kabir. As this is potentially confusing for other people (since my username is Aditya) could you please change your signature, or expand it to Aditya Kabir? Thanks. Aditya α ß 14:38, 14 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

My political affiliations, grudges etc are not relenvant here, it's just a matter of simple english reading skills:

this is what the sentence reads:

"It also encompasses the 562 protected princely states that became integral parts of the Union of India, but was not directly ruled by the Raj,[5] including Hyderabad State, Kingdom of Mysore, State of Jammu and Kashmir, Baroda, and Gwalior.[6] Sikkim joined India in 1975"

The sentence is constructed (assuming good faith) so as to imply that Jammu and kashmir is an integral part of India along with the other mentioned states, this is obviously not true, so the sentence needs to be correctly rephrased. Khokhar (talk) 21:15, 19 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Jayne Mansfield

Please understand that I have no quarrel with you, but I believe you are not approaching this fairly. If you ask a question such as you did here, you should be gracious enough to accept the reply how and where the person chooses to reply, within reason. When that person gives you the reply to your question, it is not good faith to remove it with an edit summary like removing inappropriate over-zealous addition. Is that good faith? If this user has a reason for listing the image for deletion, it can only help the reviewing admin to see what it is. If it has no validity it may influence them to keep the image, or if it has validity it may influence them to delete it. It's not harming anyone for the comment to be there, and there is nothing to say that it can't be there.

I have dealt with User:Wbrz before, and he is the last editor I would defend, however on this one point, I agree with him. The notes that he removed were on his talk page and he's allowed to remove them if he wishes. He's obviously seen them, and if he wants to remove them, he can. With the first message you left, you're edit summary was "General note: Vandalism on Jayne Mansfield". You should not be calling another editor a vandal just because you don't agree with them. That takes the form of a personal attack. His edits were not vandalism - you just didn't like them. Stensonharry was also ill-advised in commenting about his removal of the warning. He does not have to keep it on his talk page. The explanation is at Wikipedia:Template messages/User talk namespace - "....be sure to remember that any editor—including anonymous IPs—may remove messages at will from their own talk page." Wbrz has done nothing wrong in removing them. That does not mean you have the right to remove another editors comments from a page other than your own talk page, unless they are vandalism, or are off-topic. The comment on the image page isn't exactly the way it should be done, but it's not vandalism and it's not off-topic, so in fairness, there is no reason for removing the comment. Rossrs (talk) 05:05, 26 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Right? Actually no it's not right. In fact I think I've said it very clearly that I think you are wrong. You've taken everything I've said, which I did take the time to explain carefully, and boiled it down to one point that you have still not managed to get right. It's almost like you didn't read anything I wrote. You're not obliged to, of course, so let's just end this side discussion. Rossrs (talk) 11:26, 26 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]
You don't have to get a point through to me and continuing to badger me with your opinion, is not going to change my mind. Just because I don't agree with you, does not mean I don't see your point. If you felt the comment belonged on the talk page, you could have moved it there. Simple. Instead you invite a comment and then delete the response with an impolite edit summary. I've already acknowledged that putting the note on the main page wasn't the best option, but for you to just delete it as though it never existed, is also not right. The image description page is not the best place for comments, but it is often used that way, and as I said before, there is nothing to say that it is wrong. Now please, I'm not going to continue discussing this. It was a very small point and it's become a large point. Rossrs (talk) 13:33, 26 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]
No hard feelings. It's OK. Rossrs (talk) 21:56, 26 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Oh stop it. I'm not inflamed. YOU choose to use Twinkle, YOU are responsible for the edit summary it produces. The point is that another user is allowed to remove the message from his talk page. Now, let go of this please. Rossrs (talk) 21:50, 28 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Assuming good faith

I have observed that you seem to have a problem accepting WP:AGF.

  • Apparently you made this edit in response to this edit and this edit. I don’t use Twinkle; so I don’t know what kind of input you may have put into Twinkle, but it must have had something to do with unconstructive edits, inasmuch as Twinkle used a {{uw-vandalism1}} tag. (Twinkle does let you preview your posts, doesn’t it?) Even your personal text accused Wbrz of “slapping on disruptive tags” – apparently in reference to adding {{deletable image-caption }} on the infobox image caption. But Wbrz was required to add that warning as a courtesy to other editors; see the last line of {{di-replaceable fair use}}. You were also wrong to call Wbrz’s edits unconstructive: Even if Wikipedia’s non-free image policy had allowed the use of that image, other editors have as much right as you to decide the content of articles. Now I don’t fault you for your misunderstanding Wikipedia’s image policy. And I appreciate that everything you have done was in an effort to improve Wikipedia, but a basic behavior guideline of Wikipedia requires you to assume the same for others. It is essential for creating a collaborative encyclopedia.
  • I still do not understand what point you were trying to make with this edit. It refers to a post from Rossrs to Stetsonharry about your post to Wbrz above. But neither Rossrs nor Stetsonharry nor Wbrz is involved in the FFD. Conversely, I was not involved with the post you cite. So who do you suggest was acting in bad faith?

Thong (clothing)

1. Please stop adding empty sections to an article. The "Further Versions" section which says nothing more than "There are other versions that are necessarily not regarded as thongs" is completely pointless. You've added it twice now.

2. A dance belt is specifically a type of men's dancewear. That is why that section was under the "Men's Thongs" heading. You have twice now moved it below another section specifically addressing a style of WOMEN'S thongs.

3. Do not remove an image simply because you don't like it. The image "mensthong.jpg" clearly illustrates the vertical seam often found in thongs specifically cut for men. It is completely relevant to the article. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 158.147.57.213 (talk) 20:04, 29 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Category:Chowdhury family

Hi! You proposed speedy deletion of Category:Chowdhury family. I've nominated it at CfD instead, because it doesn't match any of the speedy deletion criteria. I've copied your rationale to the nomination, which is located here. Feel free to participate on the discussion on that page. Regards, Jafeluv (talk) 10:43, 9 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Help with South Asia

Hey, there is this editor User:SorenShadow who is making edits to this page about Iran not being part of South Asia. I need your help with this person. They keep reverting to an edit (made by a vandal IP) that pointlessly singles out Rutgers for not included Iran in their definition [4][5].

This is my counter edit [6]

Can you help me deal with this user, as they revert to a vandal edit. Thegreyanomaly (talk) 19:50, 3 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Unreferenced BLPs

Hello Aditya Kabir! Thank you for your contributions. I am a bot alerting you that 1 of the articles that you created is tagged as an Unreferenced Biography of a Living Person. The biographies of living persons policy requires that all personal or potentially controversial information be sourced. In addition, to ensure verifiability, all biographies should be based on reliable sources. If you were to bring this article up to standards, it would greatly help us with the current 875 article backlog. Once the article is adequately referenced, please remove the {{unreferencedBLP}} tag. Here is the article:

  1. Nethra Raghuraman - Find sources: Google (books · news · scholar · free images · WP refs· FENS · JSTOR · TWL

The article Dwight Hooker has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

No references to support claims. Only ref is to playboy

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{dated prod}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. mark nutley (talk) 13:28, 21 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I have nominated Dwight Hooker, an article that you created, for deletion. I do not think that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Dwight Hooker. Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time.

Please contact me if you're unsure why you received this message. CIreland (talk) 16:30, 21 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Books from Books LLC

Hi Aditya Kabir,

I just removed a reference from the article Dwight Hooker that was sourced to a book from "Books LLC". I only saw afterwards that I had already removed that reference a few days ago and that you had re-added it. "Books LLC" has published thousands of those print-on-demand books via online books shops like Amazon or Barnes & Noble. Those are mostly just compilations of related Wikipedia articles that are all contained in the same category (in this case Category:Playboy photographers). In many product descriptions on Amazon, they even include links that link right back to the Wikipedia articles (see this description for example.) There are other users who have noticed this too, and one user even bought one of these books and verified that it only contains Wikipedia articles: Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Unreferenced articles#Books LLC. So I wouldn't use these books as references for Wikipedia articles, unless you bought the book and can verify that this specific book is not copied from Wikipedia. While not a word-for-word copy, the article is a close paraphrase and needs to be rewritten further (preferably from scratch) in order to avoid infringing copyright. VernoWhitney (talk) 00:10, 19 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I guess it's quite fixed now. Please, check and take appropriate action. Aditya(talkcontribs) 14:43, 19 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
