2004 United States House of Representatives elections

Elections to the 109th United States House of Representatives will be held on November 2, 2004. The House has 435 seats and is currently composed of 228 Republicans, 205 Democrats and one independent, Bernard Sanders of Vermont (who usually votes with the Democrats)., One seat is currently vacant. The Democrats thus need to make a net gain of 13 seats to win a majority in the House.
