Aliganj (Template:Lang-ur) is a city and a municipal board in Etah district in the state of Uttar Pradesh, India.

Geography

Aliganj is located at 27°30′N 79°11′E / 27.5°N 79.18°E / 27.5; 79.18.[1] It has an average elevation of 154 metres (505 ft). The nearest city to Aliganj are Mainpuri, Etah, Khair, Kasganj, Farrukhabad, Aligarh.

Demographics

As of 2001 India census,[2] Aliganj had a population of 24,269. Males constitute 53% of the population and females 47%. Aliganj has an average literacy rate of 53%, lower than the national average of 59.5%; with 60% of the males and 40% of females literate. 18% of the population is under 6 years of age.

PDS Public School Aliganj is the well established CBSE school in town.
R.D. Inter college is the first well established residential college in Aliganj area.
