Dhayari is a suburb of Pune, Maharashtra, India,[1]

Geography

Dhayari is located at the intersection point of Sinhagad Road and NH4(Mumbai-Banglore National Highway) in Pune city. It is one of the prime locations of Pune City as it is close to many important places of Pune. It is 8-9km from Swargate, 7-8km from City Centre Deccan, FC road, JM Road. It is around 20km from Hinjewadi IT Park. Its close to NH4 that's why you can reach to Warje, Hinjewadi, Chandani Chowk without traffic. Its green and surrounded by hills. Just 5km in the west it has Khadagwasla lake. Sinhagad Fort, the pride of Pune is just 20km from Dhayari. Dhayari is becoming the next developing residential area in Pune Suburb. Pune city ring road will pass through Dhayari. It is 13km from Pune Railway Station. Due to its location, Dhayari has been a communication point between Sinhagad fort and Pune. Near Dhayari there is one of biggest project of Pune called Nanded city. Symphony IT park is located near Dhayari. DSK Vishwa and Nanded city are two major rich societies in Dhayari. Dhareshwar Temple is something you must visit during Shiv Ratri. It has changed a lot after 2010.

History

Until 1990, Dhayari was a small village and its economy was based upon farming.[citation needed] It is suited for agriculture, having a catchment area in western hills that brought good soil as well as sufficient water for farming.[citation needed] It was one of the sheep migration stops from Konkan to inland area due to the nearby rivers and creeks.[citation needed]

As the population of Pune increased, Dhayari changed after 2005 from a village to a suburb of Pune for middle-class people.[citation needed]

The resulting environmental changes included loss of forest and fertile lands to housing and apartment complexes of concrete and tar.[citation needed]

Transport

There are frequent buses from Swargate to Dhayari, the main buses running between Dhayari & Swargate are [Dhayari Maruti Mandir]. Within Dhayari, there are buses to DSK Vishwa.[citation needed] A Dhayari-Hadapsar Gadital corridor is planned for a Pune bus rapid transit (BRT) route.[citation needed]Bus service from Dhayari to Wagholi has started recently as well as other destinations are added now.

The closest railway station is the Pune railway station approximately 13km.

The closest bus station is the Pune Swargate bus station. approx 9km.

Swargate-Khadagwasla Metro is also proposed.
