List of Star Wars books

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

This is an old revision of this page, as edited by Rosvel92 (talk | contribs) at 01:59, 13 October 2016 (Star Wars: Canon: I was thinking we should organize all the books into this table, someone help me finish it please). The present address (URL) is a permanent link to this revision, which may differ significantly from the current revision.

This is a list of novels, novellas and short stories in the Star Wars franchise. Beginning with the 1999 release of Star Wars: Episode I – The Phantom Menace, Lucasfilm has divided its titles by era with symbols designating such. This list does not include journals, graphic novels or comic books, which can be found in the list of Star Wars comic books.

This list is split into two categories:

Canon

The official Star Wars canon includes all the movie episodes, the television shows Star Wars: The Clone Wars and Star Wars Rebels, and any books, comics, and video games published after April 2014. These stories are coordinated by the Lucasfilm Story Team to be consistent with both each other and the upcoming films.

Star Wars Legends

This body of work represents the original Star Wars expanded universe, which was rebranded as Star Wars Legends and declared non-canon to the franchise in April 2014.[1][2][3] Future works will not be based on these stories, but some elements may still be incorporated into them.

Notes
  • (E) stands for an e-book novella, which is found only online or combined with other books.
  • (A) means that the novel is also available as an audiobook.
  • (Y) stands for young reader books, which are usually shorter than normal Star Wars books.
  • (BBY) and (ABY) stand for Before and After the Battle of Yavin, which occurs at the end of the original 1977 Star Wars.
