Welcome to the incident noticeboard. This page is for reporting and discussing incidents on the English Wikipedia that require the intervention of administrators and experienced editors.
This board is moderated, which is to say your posts here may be altered, rejected or redirected by the board moderators. To help them in their task, please follow the instructions below right when making a report. New or inexperienced users will be helped by moderators to submit a well-formed report.
Once a report has been accepted, comments are invited from Wikipedia users. Any user of Wikipedia may post here. However comments are also moderated and any which stray off the strict topic under discussion, or which contain attacks, assertions of bad faith or incivility may also be edited or removed by moderators.
To request permanent deletion of sensitive personal information, see requests for oversight. DO NOT make such requests here; reports here are visible to everyone.
Your report may be referred on to one of the above places. This will be done by the moderator and a link left to direct you to the right place. Your report may be rejected if it does not meet the criteria set out here. If your report is redirected or rejected, we ask that you respect this decision and take on board the reasons given. In exceptional cases you may ask any administrator to review the moderator's decision. (This includes moderator decisions on editing subsequent comments).
Once your report has been accepted, it will be opened for discussion. Any administrator may take the requested (or other) action and close the report. An administrator who feels the report has been misdirected or does not require action will deal with it as appropriate. If you disagree with the administrator's decision and want to challenge it, please raise it with them first. If you are still unhappy, please contact any other administrator to review the decision.
Please add new incident reports to the bottom of this page. BEFORE you start a new thread, check the box to the left of this text to see if a more appropriate board exists. It very likely does.) New threads should be added using the following format:
Start with a level-2 heading, using double equals-signs and an informative, neutral title.
Summarise in one sentence what the incident involves. Give a link to any relevant page - or better, please include diffs to help us find the problem you are reporting.
Explicitly state what administrator action you require: eg, page protection or moving, blocking of an editor, revision deletion etc.
You must first have raised your concern with the editor in question, and given them time to respond. Provide a diff for where you did this.
You must notify any user who is the subject of a discussion. You may use {{subst:ANI-notice}} to do so.
Sign your post with "~~~~", which translates into a signature and a time stamp automatically.
