Vandal-warning request
My apologies for not responding sooner, Dustihowe but I am unsure as to your rationale for making a request that I tag problematic, presumed-vandal IPs with tags if they are proven to be problematic over time. I made a good-faith request to get this article protected in the face of a obsessive user making changes behind a dynamically assigned connection. Given the amount of support I was then receiving -- and perhaps even now -- I feel that citing anonymous and re-assigned IPs provides little forward utility to Wikipedia. I had left a great number of warnings in this particular case on a fair number of IPs until I saw that the user had cleared the warning from his then-current IP and subsequently continued the activity on other connections. It was with this in mind that I made a request for semi-protection and further, why I felt that ongoing warnings were a waste of time: all parties were fully aware of policy and what was going on in that case. Thanks for your attention. Ogre lawless (talk) 07:59, 26 June 2008 (UTC)

Maui (Hawaiian Mythology)
I disagree on your revert of the categoration of Maui (Hawaiian Mythology). I have been categorizing the mythical kings and chiefs of Hawaii under this category. Papa and Wakea are on it and as the descendant of the pair he should be count. KAVEBEAR (talk) 01:42, 27 June 2008 (UTC)

Cuisine of Iceland
Hey, I undid your reversal of my recent (anonymous) edits on the article Cuisine of Iceland. Realising that such a number of anonymous edits is always suspect, I've created a user to continue working on the article. Hope you don't mind. --Akigka (talk) 01:44, 27 June 2008 (UTC)

Washington, D.C.
Hi Dusti! Thank you for taking the time to review Washington, D.C. for the Good Article Nomination process. However, I have not seen any posted review of the article on the talk page. Despite the fact that the "Review" tag specifically says that additional comments are welcome, I feel like it still deters other editors from initiating a review. If you are in the process of reviewing the article, or will do so in the future, I would like to thank you in advance. If not, you may like to consider removing the review tag so that the article can go back into the GAN backlog list. Thanks again! Best, epicAdam (talk) 16:37, 27 June 2008 (UTC)
- Adam, I am still reviewing the article. I am about halfway through my review and should be done within the next day. Thanks for keeping me on my toes :)....DustiSPEAK!! 17:35, 27 June 2008 (UTC)
- Done, I'm sure you've watchlisted the page and saw that I have passed the article. Congratulations! DustiSPEAK!! 01:41, 28 June 2008 (UTC)
Hi! Thanks for reviewing Washington, D.C. at WP:GAN! For future reference, however, if the {{ArticleHistory}} has already been implemented for the article, please update that template by implementing the review history count, in lieu of using {{GA}}. When you implemented GA, it resulted in two conflicting messages, one stating that the article was GA, and articlehistory stating that the article was a delisted GA.
Also, please put reviews on the subpages of article talk space (e.g. Talk:Washington, D.C./GA1, instead of on the article talk page itself. If you leave reviews on the regular talk page, then the link to the review will no longer function after the talk page is archived. For accountability purposes, it's important that we maintain a history of GA reviews.

Account creation
Basically, the +accountcreator userright allows you to bypass the 6-accounts-per-IP-per-day limit. This is useful at WP:ACC where we create accounts for new users who can't do so via the usual means, usually due to similarity to an existing username or inability to read the CAPTCHA. If you want any further explanations, just ask. If you want to volunteer to help out, you'd be most welcome, just follow the instructions here. RichardΩ612 Ɣ ɸ 17:29, 29 June 2008 (UTC)
- Hi, I have approved your request for access at the toolserver tool. Just make sure you are familiar with the interface and procedure (see the guide page I linked above), and you may want to drop into #wikipedia-en-accounts to get a live feed of requests and for general chat/guidance about the system. WP:HAU, Status, and you!
As you may know, the StatusBot responsible for maintaining the status of the Highly Active Users was taken offline. We now have a replacement in the Qui status system. This semi-automatic system will allow you to easily update your status page found at Special:Mypage/Status which the HAU page code is now designed to read from. If you are already using Qui (or a compatible) system - great! - no action is needed (other than remembering to update your status as necessary). If not, consider installing Qui. You can also manually update this status by changing the page text to online, offline, or busy. While it is not mandatory, the nature of HAU is that people are often seeking a quick answer from someone who is online and keeping our statuses up-to-date will assist with this. Note if you were previously using your /Status page as something other than a one-word status indicator, your HAU entry may have been set to "status=n" to correct display issues. Please clear this parameter if you change things to be "HAU compatible". Further questions can be raised at WT:HAU. This message was delivered by xenobot 22:52, 8 July 2008 (UTC)
Hi, thanks for your comment. I agree with you but can you elaborate it a bit more? I don't really see how it relates to the usage of flagicons with the Infobox Stadium and linking of years in general. There were problems with other articles too, like Celje (see its history and talk page) and Stadion Ljudski vrt. --Eleassar my talk 07:04, 9 July 2008 (UTC)
Please be more careful
The edits that you are calling vandalism at User talk:24.86.200.51 do not seem to me to straightforwardly be vandalism. Certainly it seems unhelpful to simply warn a user about this without any explanation - the edits appear to be made in good faith. Please remember that calling an edit vandalism when it is not can be considered a personal attack, and is, in any case, an instance of biting the newbies. Phil Sandifer (talk) 17:22, 9 July 2008 (UTC)
- I did, yes. Phil Sandifer (talk) 17:28, 9 July 2008 (UTC)
- Your request for citations was far from clear - you basically just said the edit was unconstructive and left it at that. It is often better to slow down and explain things to newbies instead of just throwing up templates and expecting them to figure it out. Phil Sandifer (talk) 18:10, 9 July 2008 (UTC)

Hey man
I don't wanna clutter up your (now archived) usertalk, so I'm hoping you see this even though you won't get an orange bar. Good Luck with everything my friend. I've enjoyed working with you and found your approach to Wikipedia refreshing and sincere. You are always willing to listen, and always willing to improve yourself, and you always admitted when you were wrong (it was usually me telling you that you were wrong, hee!) and apologized. Those qualities, in combination, are amazingly rare qualities in any human being and will serve you well in whatever you endeavor to do in real life. I wish you peace and happiness in your life as "an adult" and, based on what I've been able to learn about you online (which ain't much, but heck, you had almost 500 edits to my talkpage so I feel like I at least know you "a little bit" :-), you are going to thrive in whatever you decide to do. Enjoy college, it is a blast. Don't get too crazy, work hard, all that blah blah blah - I have a feeling this isn't the last we've heard of Dusti. You are smart, compassionate, hardworking. Definitely Dean's List material. If you decide to stick around here and edit, don't be a stranger - I'll leave you watchlisted so I can check your contribs now and then. I'm still madly in love with this place and its potential for being the greatest free resource on Earth (it's not there yet), so I'll be around. Again, it has been good to get to know you on-Wiki, I've enjoyed your company, and I wish you well. In general, it is a really bad idea to speedy close debates about BLP courtesy deletions since they are frequently controversial. Moreover, having a full deletion discussion provides a useful precedent to be able to point to later which helps reduce further drama. JoshuaZ (talk) 17:18, 19 October 2008 (UTC)

- I have invoked admin priviledege and overturned your close on the grounds that it was inappropriate to SNOW an AFD of this type. Especially as there were voices arguing for deletion. I'm surprised that were unwilling to listen when someone like JoshuaZ comes along to tell you that you should have given the discussion more time. Non-admins should not close AFDs where there is any controversy. Please learn the lesson and take more care. Spartaz Humbug! 21:52, 20 October 2008 (UTC)
- I have done you the courtesy of posting my reply to my own talk page since I doubt you will want it hanging round your own. Spartaz Humbug! 17:13, 21 October 2008 (UTC)
Nice to see you are still around, I notice you have had a rough time here. I would personally recommend staying away from WP:BLP-related AFDs as it is a controversy swamp especially if the article's subject is involved. Beside this however your decision to close was not unreasonable as the article has been overwhelmingly kept and it was unlikely it was going to be deleted. I am still around if you need any help or advice. Camaron | Chris (talk) 14:09, 26 October 2008 (UTC)

Hello Dusti. Thanks for patrolling new pages – it's a very important task! I'm just letting you know, however, that you shouldn't tag pages as lacking context (CSD A1), or content (CSD A3), moments after they are created, as you did at Chandler Park Primary School. It's best to wait at least 10–15 minutes for more content to be added if the page is very short, and the articles should not be marked as patrolled. Tagging such pages in a very short space of time may drive away well-meaning contributors, which is not good for Wikipedia. Attack pages (G10), blatant nonsense (G1), copyright violations (G12) and pure vandalism/blatant hoaxes (G3) should of course be tagged and deleted immediately. Thanks. Passengerpigeon (talk) 00:21, 11 August 2014 (UTC)
- It was tagged as such because there's insufficient text to identify the subject, and it's also currently incoherent gibberish - most likely a student adding friends nicknames just for fun. Dusti*Let's talk!* 00:24, 11 August 2014 (UTC)

Dusti, I'm a bit puzzled. You edited a report at WP:AN3 in which you identified yourself as a "clerk". Unless something happened that I'm unaware of, there are no AN3 clerks, so why would you do that?--Bbb23 (talk) 05:10, 12 August 2014 (UTC)
- I just used the "clerk note" template - it was the only one I could remember. I've been away for the last few months. Dusti*Let's talk!* 14:56, 12 August 2014 (UTC)
- Please don't use it in the future as it has a specific meaning. You're, of course, welcome to give your opinion about the report, just skip the icon. Thanks.--Bbb23 (talk) 15:25, 12 August 2014 (UTC)

Goon MuSick page speedy deletion
Hi Dusti, i just read the speedy deletion criterias A7 and G11 and i understand why you tagged the page for speedy deletion. Unfortunatly the page wasn't finished and it is gone now (deleted by User:FreeRangeFrog). I also didn't save the content elsewhere. Is it possible to bring it back so i'm able to rewrite it? Would you mind helping me to create it or at least look over it so it doesn't break any of the wiki rules? The page is not ment to be promotional. The sole reason for its existence should be information about the label so people and users have a spot to find information. I can provide all the information and evidence links. have a great day and thx a lot for your time. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Snowgoons (talk • contribs) 16:38, 14 August 2014 (UTC)
- Hi there Snowgoons! You can ask for the page to be undeleted and moved to what's called your userspace. I've linked it for you to review. It would basically go to User:Snowgoons/Goon MuSick so you can continue to work on it until it goes out into the Main Space. You've tagged FRF who will see this and likely go ahead and move it to your userspace. If he doesn't respond in the next little while, make your request here and an admin will process your request. If you need anything else, let me know :) (P.S. - good job on learning how to wikify things. Remember to sign your posts with four tildas (~~~~) so everyone knows who left a message :)) Dusti*Let's talk!* 16:44, 14 August 2014 (UTC)
- @Dusti: Thanks for your help! I'm slowly getting the hang of it. =) The fixed version is over here User:Snowgoons/Goon MuSick. It's waiting for a review. Snowgoons (talk) 07:27, 16 August 2014 (UTC)
- Great job! It's starting to take flight, but I wouldn't ask for it to be reviewed just yet. I want you to take a quick look at our policy about basic notability and our references policy - and add some more to the article to bring it up to basic standards. Also - I don't want you to get blocked over your username. See our username policy and possibly ask to be renamed so nobody claims that you have a Conflict of Interest over the article. For what it's worth, I think we can get it up to standards :) Dusti*Let's talk!* 14:34, 16 August 2014 (UTC)
Change to hyperlinks on cheekimthong, wujiquan luohan_ri_yi_quan.
Hi Dusti,
I manage the websites www.cheekimthong.com, www.alantinnion.co.uk, and www.qi-chinamartialarts.com for my client Alan Tinnion. He informed me, earlier today that the hyperlinks to his sites no longer function correctly. This is because a major revision of all of those sites was carried out (at his instruction) well over a year ago but the hyperlinks on these wikipedia page were not updated accordingly at the time. (I was unaware, previously, that he had contributed to these wikipedia pages and would have corrected the links earlier had I known).
If you try any of the hyperlinks that I have just tried to ammend you will find that the destination pages no longer exist. Please let me know when you've verified this so that I can recorrect the hyperlinks for him again. If you require verification from Alan, himself, please let me know. Many thanks, David Carmichael — Preceding unsigned comment added by Taichi753 (talk • contribs) 22:26, 16 August 2014 (UTC)
Trying to put it a request for an article on Airguide Instrument Company: 16 August 2014
I got a message from Dusti that a link had been deleted because it did not seem appropriate for an encyclopedia. As far as I can tell, my entire post requesting an article on Airguide Instrument Company was deleted. I had put in links to places like eBay to show that the company had in fact existed and had actual products. As this is a request for an article, not an article, that seems relevant.
I have lots of experience with forums, but very little with the formatting for Wikipedia that I see when I "edit" to do a post like this or when I tried to request an article on Airguide, and find it quite unfriendly for a newbie. Clearly I don't know how to make it work.
If you would like to see an article on Airguide, then perhaps what I put in should be restored. I thought a lot of people might find it of interest, particularly as their indoor/outdoor thermometers were once quite common in homes. But as I don't seem to understand how to do that I'll stop here.
Thanks. 75.129.124.115 (talk) 22:22, 16 August 2014 (UTC)
- For a company to have an article on Wikipedia - there needs to be proof from independent, reliable sources showing their notability. Check out this page for information how how to start your first article. What you placed seems to be more promotional for the company and was flagged as potentially being spam. Jews f✡r Jesus
Yo, Dusti, Jews f✡r Jesus isn't an "Evangelical Christian organization the focuses on the conversion of Jews to Christianity" it's a "Messianic Jewish organization that focuses on the revelation of who Jesus was and is to the Jewish people and to the world. So, can you not? Thanks! — Preceding unsigned comment added by Jew.4.jesus.09 (talk • contribs) 17:22, 17 August 2014 (UTC)
Uninvited involvement at another editors talk page
I see that you also used a "stick" argument at the 3RR report where you just got blocked. Maybe it is time that you stop projecting sticks onto other editors, when it is your aggressive behavior that needs to be put on hold. Regards, Unscintillating (talk) 01:06, 18 August 2014 (UTC)
