Disambiguation link notification for October 4[edit]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Bermuda shorts, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Bermudian. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, DPL bot (talk) 08:00, 4 October 2020 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Napkin top moved to draftspace[edit]

An article you recently created, Napkin top, does not have enough sources and citations as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. DYK for Ganni[edit]

On 28 October 2020, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article Ganni, which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. The fact was ... that Ganni was founded in 2000 as a cashmere brand, but resurfaced and gained popularity as a contemporary designer label almost 20 years later? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Ganni. You are welcome to check how many page hits the article got while on the front page (here's how, Ganni), and it may be added to the statistics page if the total is over 5,000. Finally, if you know of an interesting fact from another recently created article, then please feel free to suggest it on the Did you know talk page.

Unspecified source/license for File:Mamalarky.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Mamalarky.jpg. The image has been identified as not specifying the copyright status of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. Even if you created the image yourself, you still need to release it so Wikipedia can use it. If you don't indicate the copyright status of the image on the image's description page, using an appropriate copyright tag, it may be deleted some time after the next seven days. If you made this image yourself, you can use copyright tags like {{PD-self}} (to release all rights), {{self|cc-by-sa-4.0}} (to require that you be credited), or any tag here - just go to the image, click edit, and add one of those. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided copyright information for them as well.

File permission problem with File:Mamalarky.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Mamalarky.jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file has agreed to release it under the given license.

If you are the copyright holder for this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described in section F11 of the criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Switching title and year in discography wikitables[edit]

Hello. Please don't switch the place of year and title in discography wikitables. They are formatted this way (at least when it comes to music) because the titles are more important than the years. The year of release is not the most important field/focus of the row, the song's title is, so that's where scope="row" should be. Your edits are out of step with how the majority of music discographies are formatted. Thank you. Ss112 01:52, 15 August 2023 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Standard wikitable on Paul Russell (musician)[edit]

Hello. I hope you're not attached to using Template:Singles discography, as I've converted it to a standard wikitable for the reasons I just mentioned in my edit summary on Paul Russell (musician). The template has a hard-coded limit of 21 entries—you can see this in the documentation or try it out yourself. If you try to add title22 = etc. it does not show up. (I guess it's luck that "Lil Boo Thang" was exactly his 21st solo single.) The user Ikara created that template in 2009 and they have not edited Wikipedia since 2011. Unless you know how to hard-code template formatting and want to edit the documentation yourself to add functionality for more than 21 entries, it's best—and easier—to just use a wikitable.

The singles discography template has other formatting shortcomings, as evidenced by the fact that you didn't put anything in the album parameter from the year on where Russell's songs were not put on an album—you can't unitalicise the parameter or use the non-album singles template there as it does not work with the template formatting. Also, the text in the template's column headers are already set to a size smaller than 100%, so your use of small text in the column headers went against MOS:SMALL as you decreased the text size even more when it was already less than 100%. Also, we generally don't need to say who published the chart in parentheses in a column header—we try to make these country initialisms and chart abbreviations as short as possible. Abbreviation or tooltips templates can be used if the abbreviations are less obvious, but, for example, most music markets only have one main single chart, so if we just say "US" it's expected this would be the Billboard Hot 100 and "UK" the UK Singles Chart. For all these hardcoded issues, it's best to just use a standard wikitable, which is also more accessible to readers as there's also no way to add a caption to the singles discography template (now a requirement per MOS:TABLECAPTION).
