Fall 2012 Ambassador Request

Hi Smallman, I am teaching a 4 person course in psychology this fall semester, and was wondering if you would be willing to serve as my online course ambassador. Opinion on Revision Topic

Revision Topic

Hi smallman! My cognition class is working to revise articles in the subject area of cognitive psychology. We were asked to pick some potential topics to revise for this project. I chose cocktail party effect and categorical perception. The cocktail party effect is the phenomenon where an individual's selective attention can be invaded by a particular event- as when a person is focusing their attention on a conversation at a party and somehow hears their name spoken somewhere across the room. Categorical perception, on the other hand, is the concept of individualized categories that are formed in daily life influencing the way the world is perceived. I was wondering if you would help me in choosing if these topics are areas in which I could have something to offer and contribute or if they are best left as is.

Hello Lisa. Either topic is fine...they're both 'tagged' for cleanup (the message boxes at the top of the page). Both topics have some sources, but they still need to be heavily copy-edited, additional sources, and clarification. Hello. The field you describe is cognitive neuroscience. The articles have poor function sections which can be expanded. However, research in this area is often conflicting/indecisive/revised, so be cautious. I don't know your background, but neurophysiology has biochemistry/physiology/anatomy involved...so make sure you're up to it. Smallman12q (talk) 21:59, 26 September 2012 (UTC)

There's actually a larger inattentional blindness article at Inattentional Blindness (notice the capital B)...it's going to be merged into inattentional blindness. Articulatory suppression needs a lot of cleanup/condensing, but I'm not sure how much there is to add (this isn't my area of expertise). Hallucinations is pretty well-done for now unless you're an expert in the field. I suggest looking at Category:Cognitive psychology stubs which lists really short cognitive-psych stubs. You could also look here for Psychology stubs and here for Psychology starts. a "start" rated article is also very short and lacking.Smallman12q (talk) 23:30, 27 September 2012 (UTC)

I am in the process of choosing a Wiki Page to improve for Dr. Boron's Cognitive Psychology lab. As of now I am leaning towards Explicit Memory. I just wanted to get some feed back and your input on the article to make sure it is worth improving. Any Ideas you have on the article or where to start are greatly appreciated.

Explicit memory could definitely be expanded. You could expand the effects of different stressors on explicit memory (age, health, anxiety, pregnancy?). How various diseases such as Parkinson's, Alzheimer's, autism affect it. How culture/language affect it. Its initial development...etc. Whether animals have it? The Night terror article isn't too bad. You should expand the sections with more specifics. Hello! Im part of Dr. Lu's neuroscience course. How do I go about citing references a few times in the article? For example, I want to cite 1 and 2 a few times in my paragraph but instead of 1 and 2 appearing again it is now 3 and 4 instead of 1 and 2 again. You use reference names...see WP:REFNAME. You can also see User:Smallman12q/Reference example and look at the 2nd reference as an example. So first you give the reference an alphanumeric name: <ref name="Robertsp322">Roberts, p. 322</ref> (notice the name="Robertsp322") and then next time, you use the name and a closing forwardslash /: <ref name="Robertsp322"/> (notice the name="Robertsp322"/). Also, I had a question about citing on the page. I cited the same reference a couple times and I could not figure out how to get it to cite the same source instead of adding a new citing. Batch uploads

Wondering if you could take a look at http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Commons:Batch_uploading/ECGPedia as well? I have been in discussion with this group about them releasing their images under a CC BY SA license. There are thousands of ECGs and US images. Would be great to have them moved to Commons. Well if you can get the licensing resolved (I'm not sure if they can relicense, but IANAL), I can do an upload. They are using a wiki, but I haven't found a way to export/import image pages directly (meaning no page history)...so I've asked at WP:VPT. I can however, for sure, parse their site and copy over the wikitext and files. For attribution, I would link back to the source page. There has been an OTRS ticket sent in which they have agreed to release all images and videos (but one small section) under a CC BY SA license. I will dig it up again. question for class

Hey Small,

Quick question regarding picture usage for my psychology of music page. I want to use the file on the Mental rotation page, but I'm not sure how to address the copyright questions it lists at the bottom of the file page. That's nothing to worry about. It's part of Wikipedia:Moving files to the Commons. The Wikimedia Commons is now considered the wiki's (including other languages/projects) primary repository. Some files were originally uploaded here for various reasons, and over time, they are moved to the commons. This is behind the scenes stuff. I have not been able to get the release of a copy of the images from U Mich without their logo. We have an OTRS ticket for ECGepedia. Just need someone to move over the images.     • Statements (think of “population: 2.000.000” and similar things) are taking shape in the interface. They are still pretty buggy though at this point.
    • It is now possible to link to images on Wikimedia Commons in a statement (think of “image: sundown_at_the_beach.png” for example)
    • Links are now protocol-relative (bugzilla:42534)
    • No longer possible to create new items and set labels when database is set to read-only
    • Added more tests to the GeoCoordinate parser
    • Make use of EditEntity in removeclaims API
    • Removed many singletons to reduce global state

    • A bunch of messages for autocomments were fixed (they are automatically added as an edit summary for edits on items and co in Wikidata - for example: “‎Changed [en] description: Finnish rock band”)

Old edit with citation error

Hello: Sometime back you added this edit: [1]. The link in the reference does not lead to the book. So I am wondering -- how many different articles got this reference? (I know of two. My username is CogPsyProf and I am trying a Wikipedia assignment in my 200-level course for the first time. I am relatively new to Wikipedia and completely new to editing it. My course is at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Special:Enroll/Davidson_College/Cognitive_Psychology_(2013_Q1)

I see that you were the Online ambassador for another cognitive psychology class taught by Greta Munger. How does one go about getting an online ambassador? I'm sorry to bother you with that question; I did not find the answer in the online training or other materials sent by email when I contacted the Wikipedia folks to get started.

Wikipedia Ambassadors update

Hi! You're getting this message because you are or have been a Wikipedia Ambassador. A new term is beginning for the United States and Canada Education Programs, and I wanted to give you an update on some important new information if you're interested in continuing your work this term as a Wikipedia Ambassador.

You may have heard a reference to a transition the education program is going through. This is the last term that the Wikimedia Foundation will directly run the U.S. and Canada programs; beginning in June, a proposed thematic organization is likely to take over organizing the program. You can read more about the proposal here.

Another major change in the program will take effect immediately. Beginning this term, a new MediaWiki education extension will replace all course pages and Ambassador lists. (See Wikipedia:Course pages and Help:Education Program extension for more details.) Included in the extension are online volunteer and campus volunteer user rights, which let you create and edit course pages and sign up as an ambassador for a particular course.

If you would like to continue serving as a Wikipedia Ambassador — even if you do not support a class this term — you must create an ambassador profile. If you're no longer interested in being a Wikipedia Ambassador, you don't need to do anything.

Please do these steps as soon as possible

First, you need the relevant user rights for Online and/or Campus Ambassadors. (If you are an admin, you can grant the rights yourself, for you as well as other ambassadors.) Just post your rights request here, and we'll get you set up as quickly as possible.

Once you've got the ambassador rights, please set up at a Campus and/or Online Ambassador profile. You can do so at:

Going forward, the lists of Ambassadors at Special:CampusAmbassadors and Special:OnlineAmbassadors will be the official roster of who is an active Ambassador. If you would like to be an Ambassador but not ready to serve this term, you can un-check the option in your profile to publicly list it (which will remove your profile from the list).

After that, you can sign on to support courses. The list of courses will be at Special:Courses. (By default, this lists "Current" courses, but you can change the Status filter to "Planned" to see courses for this term that haven't reached their listed start date yet.)

As this is the first term we have used the extension, we know there will be some bugs, and we know the feature set is not as rich as it could be. (A big wave of improvements is already in the pipeline. And if you know MediaWiki and could help with code review, we'd love to have your help!) Please reach out to me (Sage Ross) with any complaints, bug reports, and feature suggestions. The basic features of the extension are documented at Wikipedia:Course pages, and you can see a tutorial for setting up and using them here.

Communication and keeping up to date

In the past, the Education Program has had a pretty fragmented set of communication channels. We're trying to fix that. These are the recommended places to discuss and stay up-to-date on the education program:

  1. The education noticeboard has become the main on-wiki location for discussion of the Education Program. You can post there about broad education program issues as well as issues with individual courses.
  2. The Ambassadors Announce email list is a very low-traffic announcements list of important information all Ambassadors need to be aware of. We encourage all Ambassadors (and other interested Wikipedians) to subscribe to the list; follow the instructions on the link to add your email address.
  3. If you use IRC regularly, or need to try to reach someone immediately, the #wikipedia-en-ambassadors connect IRC channel is the place to find me and fellow Ambassadors.
Ambassador training and resources

We now have an online training for Ambassadors, which is intended to be both an orientation about the Wikipedia Ambassador role for newcomers and the manual for how to do the role. (There are parallel trainings for students and for educators as well.)

Please go through the training if you feel like you need a refresher on how a typical class is supposed to go and where the Ambassadors fit in, or if you want to review and help improve it. If there's something you'd like to see added, or other suggestions you have for it, feel free to edit the training and/or leave feedback. A primer on setting up and using course pages is included in the educators' training.

The Resources page of the training is the main place for Ambassador-related resources. If there's something you think is important as a resource that's not on there, please add it.

Finally, whether or not you work with any classes this term, I encourage you to post entries to the Trophy Case whenever you see excellent work from students or if you have great examples from past semesters. And, as always, let students (and other editors!) know when they do things well; a little WikiLove goes a long way!

Hello. I'm a Wikipedian from Spain and I read the GLAM newsletter of February and I found a new about Spain (Galicia) "Association of Writers in Galician Language (AELG) Writer Images". I'm interested in this case, because I'm a member of Spanish Chapter and we try to do the same if it would be possible. Did you get the autorisation for these pictures? How? Glad to see someone reads the newsletter=P. As per the batch upload request, I found the permission on their site [7] (at the top) which states: "As fotos cuxa autoría corresponde a Eduardo Castro Bal e Santos-Díez poden ser reproducidas segundo a licenza CC-BY-SA 3.0. Para o uso das demais fotos, debe contactar cos seus autores/as." This notice, does not appear to be present in earlier versions of their site, so someone may have suggested they change it. I wrote the program to fufill the request, but I was not involved in the licensing. You should contact the original requester commons:user:Elisardojm for more information. Note on articles to professor

I copy here what I just wrote to teacher of this assignment. Teacher should review better article proposals.

Hi, I have recently stumped on your course since I have been one of the main contributors to the stroop effect article. Regarding your course proposal I believe it is a sensible one in its aims are certanly in line with Wikipedia ways and objectives. I specially appreciate the effort of including secondary sources and improving already developed articles by adding content to specific sections instead of very low importance stubs. I will try to help with the stroo article, and maybe others, although I will not promise anything since I have been disconnected from wikipedia for a year and only recently come back.

Once said that, I have taken a look to your article proposals and I have some issues with (at least) two of them:

  • Schema is a disambiguation page: a list page linking to several articles with similar names but different concepts. If you look through it you will find the link to schema (psychology). You might be or might not be interested in developing the latter, but you should certainly do not include psychology content in the disambiguation page.


  • Autism: autism is a Wikipedia:featured article: This means that it is considered one of the best wikipedia articles and while not completely finished very mature. Featured articles are not a good assigments for beginners, since consensus and good knowledge of both the content of the article and wikipedia ways are specially required. A possibility would be that you created an specific secondary article (something like recognition of emotions in autism and then added a link to this secondary article in the main page. A probably better alternative is that you improved the autism section in the theory of mind article

@Garrondo Your point that "Teacher should review better article proposals" may raise an issue for the Wikipedia education initiative that could be helpful to raise with its directors. As some background information, when I asked for guidance about picking articles for students to work on, I was told by my area coordinator (distinct from my online ambassador) that I should just read articles and see what needed to be worked on because there are thousands of topics that need work. The vast majority of topics I listed for students had indications that they were pages that needed work (messages across the top of the pages to that effect). In the rare case that I listed a topic about a featured article, it was to add a missing subtopic, and I welcome your suggestion that the added information be a new, supplementary page. All of this is to say that perhaps the Wikipedia education inititive folks could give more guidance to instructors--particularly rookies--and your comments may have a broader impact if you took them up with the education initiative folks as opposed to one professor. Will pass along the suggestion. Regarding FA, to be fair, some FA articles aren't entirely 'up to snuff' as they became FAs long ago. Autism, for example, passed in 2007 and wiki standards for FAs have dramatically improved since then...so there is room for improvement.       • Showing useful diffs for edits of claims (they’re currently empty)
      • Automatic comments for editing of claims (there are currently none)
      • Ability to add items to claims by their ID
      • Better handling of deleted properties
      • More results in the entity selector (that’s the thing that lets you select properties, items and so on) so you can add everything and not just the first few matches that are shown
    • We’re still working on the issue that sometimes editing of certain parts of items or properties isn’t possible. If you’re running into it try to reload the page and/or change the URL to the www. version or the non-www. version respectively.
    • Deployment on all other Wikipedias is currently planned for March 6 (a note to the Village Pumps of all affected projects will follow soon)

Changing Article

Hey Smallman12q: I added an article to the table on the Davidson College Cognitive Psychology page that doesn't exist. I'm working on Memory and Autism, but we will be connecting it to the Autism page, so for the article listed in the table I need it to just link to "Autism." How do I change this? Hi guys...you meant to add the section to the wp:Talk Page of the article, not a section link to the article on your course page? My mistake. First make sure you're logged in. To add a new section to the Stroop effect talk page, go to Talk:Stroop effect and click the "New Section" tab at the top of the screen, fill it in with your plans and hit save. It should work. Autism

Hello Smallman12q. I see that you are the Campus Ambassador for the Davidson College project. Since I have Autism watchlisted I see this WP article is the proposed subject of some edits by this project. Probably you and the professor are aware of this, but the article is a featured article, and as a result any changes and additions are best discussed first on the talkpage. I foresee problems if students - perhaps somewhat unfamiliar with WP policies and guidelines (about WP:MEDRS, WP:UNDUE and others)- try to add material directly to that page.     • The interwiki shortcut :d was changed to always use www in the resulting link (to prevent editing issues on other URLs).
    • The list of available properties is growing and a whole bunch of new ones are being discussed
    • Reasonator gives you a nice adapted view of an item about a person
    • Items by cat helps you find missing items in a certain Wikipedia category
    • A few more additions to d:Wikidata:Tools that you should have a look at if you’re editing statements

Hi. I noticed here that a number of students are nominating Autism. Please ignore this if it's impertinent, but can I make a couple of observstions? First, it's a featured article, so it may not need much work done to it, and if that's the case the students may be setting themselves up for a frustrating effort. Secondly, and the point that prompted me to contact you, the sources suggested on Talk:Autism for the proposed new articles, Autism and memory and Autism and face recognition include many (only in the latter) primary sources. Per the guideline, WP:MEDRS, we build Wikipedia health-related articles on secondary sources, so it may be the case that this class hasn't fully grasped WP:MEDRS and they may waste a lot of time building their articles on inappropriate sources, only to find all or most of it is challenged. --Anthonyhcole (talk · contribs · email) 04:41, 18 March 2013 (UTC)

Regarding the autism page: many have already commented on this and the teacher and students have stated that will not modify the main article. Similarly they know that secondary sources should be used. Teacher has stated that most work at this point is being done outside wiki, so that we should not worry much regarding info on talk pages, but he has been quite assuring regarding use of sources. A am watching several of the class articles to ensure MEDRS (specially the stroop effect article, which I have been the main contributor) as is User:LovaFalk with all the other articles.. Might interest you: students continue adding primary sources to talk pages, Talk:Framing_effect_(psychology)#Developmental_factors. Moreover, some editors including me, are worried because we feel that contributions instead of adding lots of content would have been better aimed to improving current content, and that the effect might be (lets hope I am mistake) that a whole chunk of mid-low quality content is finally added. --Garrondo (talk) 09:16, 19 March 2013 (UTC)

    • Widget to add language links on the Wikipedias directly: added setting to enable/disable it per wiki and made it available for logged-in users only

    • Made it so that the “edit links” link on Wikipedia is also shown when the corresponding item only has a link to this one language and no other languages

    • Added a few ways to better debug the script responsible for taking Wikidata changes to the Wikipedias. This should help with investigating why some changes take way to long to show up on the Wikipedias.

    • Finished script for rebuilding search keys, so we can finally get case insensitive matches in a lot of places

This lets you choose between “custom value”, “unknown value” and “no value”. “No value” means that we know that the given property has no value, e.g. Elizabeth I of England had no spouse. “Unknown value” means that the property has a value, but it is unknown which one -- e.g. Pope Linus most certainly had a year of birth, but it is unknown to us.

    • The first 11 Wikipedias can now include data from Wikidata in their articles (If you want to see it in action see the infobox at it:Torino)
    • Worked on automatic summaries for statements
    • Worked on making properties accessible from the client using their label so you can use {{#property:executive director}} instead of {{#property:p169}} for example
    • Made qualifiers ready for the next deployment (Please test. See details further down.)
    • Selenium tests for qualifiers
    • Fixed some issues related to QUnit testing
    • Worked on improved handling and code design of multiple snak lists in the UI (qualifiers, references)

    • We’re currently carefully monitoring performance after the deployment of phase 2 on the first 11 Wikipedias. There seem to be a few small issues. As soon as they are resolved we'll deploy on English Wikipedia. All other Wikipedias are planned to follow very soon after that.
    • Bye and a big thank you to Anja, Silke, Jens and John who are leaving the development team at the end of the month and will work on other cool things. You’ll be missed!
    • Ever had any doubt about the possibilities of Wikidata? Talk to Wiri!
    • We worked on reducing the time it takes for Wikidata edits to show up in the Wikipedias and made some progress. Daniel posted an analysis
    • We started running a script on the database in order to make search on Wikidata case-insensitive. This should be finished in a few days and then search should be more useful.
    • In addition to the above we have rolled out a new search box that suggests items. This should also make finding things on Wikidata a lot easier for you.
    • We’re making some progress with Internet Explorer 8 support but there are a lot of issues with it (some outside our control). It’s unclear at the moment how much we can improve it still without spending an unjustified amount of time on it. You can follow the progress at bugzilla:44228
    • Edits are now auto-confirmed for users with more than 50 edits and account age 4 days: bugzilla:46461
    • Do you need old-style interwiki links for a sister project for example? This is for you
    • The Wikimedia Foundation applied as a mentoring organisation for Google Summer of Code again. We have proposed some Wikidata projects for students to take up if the Foundation is accepted again. At least 2 other organisations that applied also propose Wikidata ideas. More details on that once we know which organisations are accepted.
    • Denny hacked together a tree of life based on data from Wikidata
    • Wikidata was added to wikipulse
    • A template to retrieve data from Wikidata if no local value is set

To upload, you'd go to Wikipedia:File Upload Wizard or tell me the url and image and I'll upload. You can only upload freely-licensed media or public domain material. That means that it must be published before 1923, or explicitly freely licensed such as from a freely licensed journal (such as PLOS Biology). 99% of journals/books are copyrighted. Also, an image produced by a government agency, without the "copyright so and so" caption is fine. You could also make the image yourself.     • Deployment of phase 2 on English Wikipedia is currently planned for April 8. The remaining Wikipedias are scheduled for April 10. As usual this might change if we run into problems along the way.
    • There is now a page showing the current lag for changes propagating to the Wikipedias so they can show up in watchlists and recent changes for example. This should ideally be in the range of a few minutes. Right now it is higher because of some abnormally high bot activity but decreasing. Should be down to a few minutes soon.
    • There’s now a badge you can add to Wikipedia articles to indicate there is data about it on Wikidata
    • We hit Q10000000
    • A Wikidata item in the wild ;-)

Editing Images in Wikipedia

Hi smallman12q, I am working on the ectoderm page as part of the Education Program:Boston College/Developmental Biology (Spring 2013) I was wondering if you could help explain to me how can i make a thumbnail image larger or a regular image smaller? There is a Wikipedia:Picture tutorial. The image usage would be:
  • If you just want it auto-sized as a thumb with text aligned on the left, then it goes (you can change the caption, by changing the "This is a Prokaryote"):
[[File:Prokaryote cell diagram.svg|thumb|This is a Prokaryote.]]

and gives:

This is a Prokaryote.
  • If you want to specify the size and have a thumbnail on the right, it goes:
[[File:Prokaryote cell diagram.svg|thumb|350px|This is a Prokaryote.]]

(you would change 350px which means 350 pixels to whatever pixel size you want, more pixels gives larger image, so 500px would be bigger). and gives:

This is a Prokaryote at 350px
This is a Prokaryote at 500px
  • If you want to specify the size and align it somewhere (left, center, right) (it's default on the right), it goes (to align left):

I have just discovered that almost all content added by the students was in violation of copyright of the used source. Full sentences were simply copied verbatim, and most others only slightly changed. I had to eliminate all content as a precaution. I am simply without comments, since at this point this class is being quite a burden.--Garrondo (talk) 21:28, 8 April 2013 (UTC)

Thanks for the barnstar. As you say things sometimes are not as enjoyable as somebody wants, and at least to know that some recognition is taken makes things easier.
Regarding other articles: I have done some fast checking of some paragraphs and I did not find any clear issues, although obviously it does not mean they are not there. --Garrondo (talk) 07:18, 9 April 2013 (UTC)

    • Got some external professional review of our code and architecture and started working on their feedback
    • Worked on reducing the dispatch lag (the time it takes for changes on Wikidata to be sent to the Wikipedias for display in watchlist, recent changes and to purge affected pages)
    • Worked on using Redis for job queue to improve the lag situation even further
    • Created new Wikibase Query extension for phase 3 functionality
    • Autocomments & Autosummaries for SetClaim module
    • Worked on the GeoCoordinate parser

    • right now: GLAM-WIKI 2013
  • Discussions
  • Other Noteworthy Stuff
    • Deployment of phase 2 on the remaining Wikipedias was delayed because of a high lag of changes being propagated to the Wikipedias. The lag has been reduced considerably now and is going down even more. The new date for deployment will not be next week because there are other large changes on Wikimedia infrastructure scheduled that we do not want to interfere with. It will hopefully happen very soon after that though.
    • Next code update on wikidata.org is planned for Wednesday. This should include qualifiers and bugfixes.
    • There will probably be a short outage/read-only for wikidata.org on Tuesday (database is being switched to MariaDB)
    • If you're a student and interested in coding on Wikidata consider applying for Google Summer of Code.
    • There is a new user right: property creators
    • There is now a page to request deletion of a property
    • We now have Bureaucrats
    • Reasonator was improved and extended (1 2)

Image at deep dyslexia

I answered at the students talk page: While I told them how to fix it, I deeply recommended not to use the image since diagrams are usually discouraged per problems with OR, studybook type of writting and not encyclopedic and occassionally copyright issues.--Garrondo (talk) 13:12, 17 April 2013 (UTC)

Simple flow-diagrams can be used to illustrate a concept...provided there factually based, that wouldn't really be OR, it's just another way of presenting the same data like a graph for a table. And you can't use an exact copy from a book...so it's kind of a catch-22.Smallman12q (talk) 13:15, 17 April 2013 (UTC)
Agree on the catch -22, but more important from my POV is that they do not really add much to almost any article and they are highly unencyclopedic. I hardly think you would find mental maps, flow diagrams or similar images in an encyclopedia. ?? You mean to say flow charts aren't useful in an encyclopedia? Of course they are...and they're widely used here and in various fields. We have a category Commons:Category:Flow charts and there are plenty of articles/fields that use flow charts from computer science and UML to biology and Signal transduction. Provided they are accurate, flow charts provide a good overview and aren't misleading. I don't see what the issue is with including a flow diagram/mind map of the concepts?Smallman12q (talk) 13:40, 17 April 2013 (UTC)

Pictures in wikipedia

Hi smallman12q,

I know that you have answered many questions about uploading pictures but I just want to be sure so that I am not infringing on copyrights. Kastephan and I are working on face perception in regards to individuals with autism spectrum disorder and we want to upload a fMRI showing the differences in facial processing in typically developing brains and ASD brains. Are we not allowed to post a fMRI scan from journal article even if we cite it?

Sehamilton: I will answer instead of Smallmann:
  • Short answer. NO YOU CAN NOT, you will be infringing the copyright. It will be similar to posting a full chapter of book in the internet . Independently of whether your cite were you took it from you will be breaking copyright.
  • Long answer: NO YOU CAN NOT IN MOST CASES. However there have been several publishing houses created in the last years such as PLOS that permit the use of some or all of its content with certain restrictions such as citing the origin of the work. Other traditional publishers now release specific articles without total copyright (See open-access journal. In order to upload an image to wikipedia it will have to come from an article with a compatible copyright license (the one you were thinking of using does not have a compatible license, but a traditional copyright).

Thanks for the reply Garrondo. @Sehamilton, the Brain neurology journal is under the Oxford Open license which means it's free to view, but not to reuse. Sorry. The journal must explicitly state that content can be reused, such as Oxford PETP which states "All articles in PTEP use the Creative Commons Attribution Licence." One large free to view/reuses journal is PLOS at http://www.plosone.org/ .Smallman12q (talk) 20:38, 18 April 2013 (UTC)

Stroop effect and others

I have commented on the proposed text by students in the stroop effect. I feel my comment was probably discouraging, but I do not feel that the content they proposed was up to the level of the article, with many problems in content and understanding of the field, to the point that I did not know on how they could improve it before the end of their course or any way to parly integrate it into the existing text. I wanted you to know it from me since I am really sorry that their effort may be somehow lost and finally not improve the article directly. I do hope however that my comments to other students from the Davidson class were useful, and that overall led to an improvement in the final articles. --Garrondo (talk) 13:26, 22 April 2013 (UTC)
