March 31  United Kingdom A coach crashed into a river after falling from a bridge in a snow storm in Lanark, Scotland killing a 17 year old girl and injuring 44 passengers.[9]
April 12  United States A multiple-vehicle crash on a rain-slicked freeway north of Los Angeles killed 5.[10]
April 16  Pakistan A bus fell into a river on Haramosh Peak, Pakistan. The accident killed 12 and injured 7.[11]
May 23  China A truck travelling in the wrong direction on an expressway in China's north-east collided head-on with a bus. The collision occurred on a section of expressway that was undergoing maintenance in the city of Fuzin in Liaoning province. Thirty-two people were killed and twenty-one were injured and sent to the hospital.[12]
July 2  Democratic Republic of Congo A fuel tanker overturned and exploded, creating a fireball that devastated the town of Sange, in South Kivu province in the Democratic Republic of Congo. The preliminary death toll placed the number of dead at 220, with 111 injured.[13]
July 11  Republic of Ireland A traffic accident, near Inishowen, in Ireland killed eight people.[14]
July 18  Albania Fourteen people were killed and twelve injured after a bus fell off a cliff in northern Albania, near the city of Durrës.[15]
August 12  Democratic Republic of Congo Fifty-eight died when a lorry plunged into Lake Tanganyika in the Democratic Republic of Congo.[16]
August 18  Philippines In the Philippines, a fully packed bus plunged off a mountain highway into a 100 foot (≈30.5 m) ravine killing 41 people.[17]
August 25  South Africa At least 8 children were killed and 4 were injured when a school bus collided with a train.[18]
September 26  Germany A Polish tourist bus returning from Spain careered into a bridge on a rain-soaked German motorway killing 13 people.[19]
October 10  Malaysia Twelve people were killed and more than fifty were injured in a highway crash that involved two buses, three cars, and a van at the North-South Expressway, near the Malacca-Negeri Sembilan state border, Malaysia.[20][21]
October 12  Ukraine Forty-five people were killed in the Ukraine when a bus crossed a railway near Marhanets against a red light and was hit by a train.[22]
October 19  Mexico Eighteen people were killed when a bus collided with a truck, burst into flames, and flipped over in central Mexico.[23]
October 25  Uganda Twenty-one people were killed when a bus collided with a fuel truck in northern Uganda.[24]
December 3  Iraq At least 15 people were killed, 11 Iranian, and 45 were injured, 22 Iranian, in a collision between two buses in Iraq.[25]
December 20  Malaysia Twenty-seven people, mostly Thai tourists, were killed when the double-decker coach bus they were traveling in crashed at the Second East-West Highway of the Perak-Pahang state border near Cameron Highlands, in the state of Pahang, Malaysia.

April 19  Democratic Republic of Congo At least 32 people were killed after a truck hit a group of people in the Democratic Republic of Congo. Most of the fatalities were children. The driver was seriously injured.[37]
