    Hello. This user keeps adding links toward imvbox.com. Is there a way to mass-revert him? Thanks and regards, Biwom (talk) 15:08, 29 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]

    @Biwom: I have mass reverted the top links, but there is a lot more left where they were not the top editor. Please remove the rest as well. --Dirk Beetstra T C 15:47, 29 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]
    @Biwom and Beetstra: Hello. I am KighanHill from IMVBox. We are an online distribution platform who provide a large LEGAL Iranian movie selection. You can find our Wikipedia page HERE if you want more details. Linking our cast pages with Wikipedia add some relevant content for users who want to watch legally Iranian movies from a specific actor or director. Maybe I am mistaken, but I really think that I am not infriging Wikipedia policy by placing our pages as references and external links. If you think otherwise, would you please specify the reason(s) on your next post. I thank you in advance for your reply and your time. Best regards, KighanHill (talk) 17:30, 29 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]
    Hello. Actually there are many, many of our policies you are infringing, but this is partly due to the fact that we have too many policies. So most importantly you are infringing the first of our 5 pillars, "Wikipedia is an encyclopedia", which you can read here: WP:5P1. You can see it says very explicitly "Wikipedia is not an advertising platform". Can you imagine what Wikipedia would look like if all the KighanHill of the world were adding links towards their businesses because (no doubt) some of our readers might be interested in their products? Surely, it would not look like an encyclopedia. Thanks and regards, Biwom (talk) 16:56, 29 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]
    @KighanHill: Thank you for your response. Actually, the most relevant documents (which you are not following with your edits) are m:Terms of use (you are related to the website, have a clear conflict of interest, and did not disclose that, it is a requirement that you do that). Secondly, as stated, you have a conflict of interest, as described here: Wikipedia:Conflict of interest. That guideline strongly suggests you to NOT edit according to anything that you are related to. That includes editing IMVBox, and adding links to a website that you are affiliated with (extending to material that you created on websites that you are not affiliated with, the subjects of direct competitors, or having been paid to add the links by someone of the website (SEO), etc. etc.).
    With regard to the links you are adding, those are not following our inclusion standards. We do not link to anything related. Our policies and guidelines regarding that are strict as to what can, should and should not be linked.
    I stand with the suggestion that all the external links should be removed, and add that the article IMVBox should be checked and possibly tagged (there the external link can stay). --Dirk Beetstra T C 17:24, 29 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]

    Looking into this, I see several accounts who have been spamming this in 2014:

    (and possibly more). As previous blocks and previous warnings (in 2014 and 2016) obviosly did not get the message through to people of the website, I see only one solution. --Dirk Beetstra T C 18:01, 29 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]

    @Biwom: plus Added to MediaWiki:Spam-blacklist. --Dirk Beetstra T C 18:02, 29 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]
    note: there is a small cross-wiki aspect to this spamming, I hope we can keep it that way and that we do not have to block this domain globally. --Dirk Beetstra T C 18:20, 29 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]
    Hello. I have removed 32 of the mainspace links. There are a very few left. Thanks and regards, Biwom (talk) 09:06, 30 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]
