Garkon is a Headquartor of a panchayat village in the Aryan valley region [1] located in Kargil block of Kargil district, in a rural region in the Indian union territory of Ladakh.It has six hamlets: Changra, Fantola, Haroo, Rama, Sirchangarh and Thamtse.[2] It also includes the Gargardo Hamlet [3] .It is one of the 22 official villages of Kargil block.

Geography

Demographics

According to census of india 2011 the are 1287 peoples living in 242 household . The literacy rate is 652 out of 1287 which makes 50.66% .It has 202.70 hactere of Land.[9]
