Urolagnia (also known as urophilia or undinism) is a sexual fetish in which participants derive sexual pleasure from urine and urination. Urolagnia is sometimes associated with, or confused with, Omorashi.

People with urolagnia often like to urinate in public, or urinate on, or be urinated on by other people, and may drink the urine. The consumption of urine is urophagia. Some like to watch others doing these things. These activities are often described by the euphemisms "golden showers" or "watersports" (which should not be confused with water sports).

Some people, but not many, drink large quantities of their own urine as alternative medicine. This is not the same as urolagnia.

Notable urophiliacs

• Havelock Ellis - British sexologist who was impotent until at age sixty he discovered that he was aroused by the sight of a woman urinating. Ellis is also notable for his attempt to prove that the painter Rembrandt also enjoyed the practice, claiming that it explained the golden tones in which paintings were suffused, and arguing that Rembrandt's picture "Bathsheba at Her Bath" originally depicted her urinating.
• Shirley Manson - Lead singer of the popular rock band Garbage. Was quoted in an interview as saying "I hate boys who are frightened of pee and shit and menstrual blood… I want a man who will let me pee in his belly button". The Garbage song "When I Grow Up" contains the lyrics "Happy Hours/Golden Showers"
• Annie Sprinkle - Multimedia performer and advocate for female sexual enjoyment. Her stage name is derived from her abilities with urination, notably the ability to turn herself into a human fountain.
• Ashley MacIsaac - Nova Scotian fiddler and singer. In 1996 he spoke with a Maclean's interviewer mentioning his sexual life, including his underage boyfriend and his taste for urolagnia. In 2003 he told an interviewer for the Montreal Mirror that he loves to have men urinate on him.
• Jim Norton - Comedian who frequently discusses his love of "yellow discipline," going so far as to name one of his CDs after the practice. His book, Happy Endings: Tales of a Meaty-Breasted Zilch, discusses, in great detail, his love of urolagnia, coprolagnia, and his love of prostitutes.

Alleged urophiliacs

• Adolf Hitler - German Nazi party leader. Otto Strasser, an ex-Nazi leader with a grudge against Hitler, claimed that Hitler had an incestuous relationship with his niece Geli Raubal, and that Geli had once told him that Hitler liked to have her crouch over his face naked, urinating on him. No other source exists for this claim.
• Ricky Martin - Singer. Gave an interview with Blender Magazine in which he stated that he enjoyed giving "Golden Showers" "Yellow Rainbows". After his remarks became public UNICEF where he was a goodwill spokesperson was reportedly unhappy and critics wanted him to resign from the Ricky Martin Foundation a children's advocacy group. In a letter in Spanish posted on Univision.com Martin said, "At the time I granted the interview, never did it cross my mind that my comments would spark this absurd and sensationalist public discussion. I cannot avoid speculation about my career and life, but I cannot allow those for whom my foundation works to be affected because I am a public figure."

• R. Kelly - R&B Singer, Songwriter and Producer. In 2002 a bootleg copy of a videotape was released to the Chicago Sun Times that showed an alleged Kelly engaging in many sexual acts, including urinating on a girl who is supposedly the daughter of an associate and niece of a former Kelly protege who was 14 years old at the time. It was announced that during his child pornography trial that the tape will be played in public court. Kelly’s attorneys haven’t conceded that he is on the tape, saying his likeness may have been computer generated. They have also tried to raise doubts about the identity and age of the girl. After many delays, the trial is scheduled to start on September 17, 2007.

• In the Canadian band The Hidden Cameras' song Golden Streams frontman and songwriter Joel Gibb appears to describe watersports. In the Hidden Cameras' live show for several years, yellow streamers were thrown into the audience to accompany the song. The song begins with what appears to be a description of the fear and discomfort the protagonist felt during a childhood episode of wetting himself on a cold winter's day, and ends in the triumphant recapture of the sensation in an adult homosexual context:

My golden wand waves down your golden rod

Our gold held high in sunny breezy sky
Then a stream of gold released from golden stone
erupts late at night and melts the winter ice

There are references to being urinated on in other Gibb songs from the same period. Nonetheless, in recent interviews, Gibb has claimed that Golden Streams actually "isn't really about anything sexual - it's about building an architectural device to get to heaven using frozen piss."

• Rockbitch - mostly female band featuring many sexual acts including urination as part of their stage act
• Cat Chaser - Seattle-based goth/punk rock band that had a small but rabid following partially based on singer Cresta wetting her clothes during the band's performances
• MC Frontalot - Rapper credited with coining the term nerdcore hip hop. On his album Nerdcore Rising Frontalot has a song called "Yellow Lasers" where the female lead, dressed as Princess Leia wishes to show the protagonist her "Yellow Laser Beams". He is less than pleased when he "got a steaming mouth full of yellow laser beam".
• Notorious B.I.G. Hip-Hop musician in the song Big Booty Hoes featuring Too $hort, says "Fuck for about an hour then she want a golden shower. You didn't know that we be pissin on hoes, bitch"[2]
• Pornography: The Musical - 2003 British musical TV documentary about pornography. A porn star describes the making of her first watersports video.
• Sex and the City - HBO Television Series. Carrie's (Sarah Jessica Parker) politician boyfriend Bill (John Slattery) wants her to pee on him but she is reluctant to do so.
• Sin Cities 2 2003 Australian TV special. This TV show is about sexual practices around the world. In one episode, the crew pays a visit to the Wet Set Magazine girls in Sydney. Several of the Wet Set models are shown wetting themselves or posing with wet underwear.
• Diary of a Porn Virgin - 2005 British Television Channel 4 documentary shows porn star Sahara drinking large amounts of water, in preparation for a scene in which she urinates on camera for a long period of time.
• The L Word (season 2)- Showtime Television series 2005. In the opening segment for episode 9, Carmen and Jenny are having sex in the shower. Jenny gets out of the shower to pee, at which point Carmen follows her, straddles her, and begins to pee between her thighs. They continue to have sex as Carmen guides Jenny's hand between her legs and pees on it.
• America's Next Top Model 2005 Reality TV show. One of the contestants urinates into a diaper she is wearing to the disgust of the other contestants.
• On Chapelle's Show 2006 Television comedy, (season 2), Dave Chapelle parodies the R Kelly controversy by showing a fictional music video in which Kelly sings about urinating on young girls (the video is titled 'Piss on You').
• Prison Break 2006 Television show. A man is holding Nika Holly Valance and two men captive, and he tells the guys that if they need to use the bathroom they can hold it, but he will gladly watch Nika "tinkle" any time.
• Shameless 2007 British Television show (Episode 4.6, Season 4.). Tom Michael Legge is taking a bath, and the woman he is sharing a house with Carrie, played by Amanda Ryancomes in and uses the toilet in front of him. She pees audibly and wipes. He evidently becomes aroused by the situation, so she reaches into the water to feel his hard penis, then walks out with a smile and tells him to go ahead and finish off.
• A Free Ride 1915 movie. A man picks up two female hitchhikers and then stops by the road to pee. The girls spot him peeing and then also squat to pee, arousing him and leading to further hijinks.
• Two Women 1960 Italian movie. Soldiers sneak a peek at women peeing along the side of a road.
• Go, Go Second Time Virgin 1969 Japanese movie. Two couples force Tsukio Michio Akiyamato engage in kinky group sex with them, and one of the women urinates on him. She pulls her panties down, revealing her buttocks, and stands over him with her stream visible for a second or so.
• Sweet Movie 1974 French movie. John Vernon pisses on his bride through a golden penis.
• Semi-Tough - 1977 movie. A woman at a self-improvement seminar stands up and says "I have something to share with you. I just wet my pants... and it feels good!" No pee is shown.
• Maladolescenza - 1977 German-Italian Movie described as "One of the most controversial feature films to come out of Italy" due to its frank depiction of puberty. Has scenes of voyeurism and scene of a golden shower done without the victim's consent.,
• Caligula - 1979 movie by Tinto Brass about the insane roman emperor shows two women joyfully urinating on a Roman army general after he was beaten to death by Caligula's guards.
• Vice Squad - 1982 Movie. A hooker played by Season Hubley is approached by a man who asks if she does golden showers. She apologizes and says that she just used the bathroom, but the man replies "I've got $100 and a six-pack of beer." "You've also got a date with Princess Running Water," she replies, and hops into his car.
• Personal Best - 1982 movie. Mariel Hemingway leads her boyfriend into the bathroom in the morning and then holds his penis as he pees.
• Seduction: The Cruel Woman 1985 German Movie. In the Canadian version a man asks the mistress to use him as a toilet, and she prepares to pee on him when the scene cuts.
• Flirting - 1991 movie. Thandie Newton uses the boys' restroom at Noah Taylor's boarding school (because there is no girls' room) and he pushes the door open.
• Tokyo Decadence - 1992 movie. The film shows a prostitute urinating in a bowl and a customer drinking that urine .
• The Tigress - 1992 Movie. Valentina Vargas is urinating in a sink when her boyfriend James Remar sticks his hand under her skirt and begins to play with her.
• Bitter Moon - 1992 Movie. Near the start of the film a character played by Peter Coyote tells a character played by Hugh Grant about the first time he drank the urine of a character played by Emmanuelle Seigner and how much it turned him on.
• The Boys of St. Vincent 1993 Canadian Docudrama. This film is the true story of sexual abuse at an orphanage. In one scene the perverted "Christian" brother is shown ogling four schoolboys as they are lined up naked and using urinals.
• New Love in Tokyo - 1994 Japanese Movie. Two scenes involving prostitutes.
• Live Nude Girls - 1995 Movie. A character played by Cynthia Stevenson describes a childhood fantasy in which she has to pee real bad and encounters a "rapist" at a roadside rest area. The man kisses her and asks to watch her pee.
• Stealing Beauty - 1996 movie. Lucy (Liv Tyler) is dancing with an older man when his drunken ex-lover (a lady of about 40) walks up and says "I'll show you what this bastard likes!" The older lady then dances along a bit, lowers herself, and begins pissing on the floor and laughing. You hear the peeing and see the puddle. Lucy gets the joke and laughs along.
• Under the Skin - 1997 British Movie. A woman tries to deal with her mother's death by having sex with a lot of different guys. One of them blindfolds her and asks her to trust him, then stands over her as she lies on the ground and begins giving her a golden shower. She screams and runs out of the room.
• The Big Hit - 1998 Movie. Mr. Nishi, the bankrupt billionaire, lost everything because the film he directed and starred in "Taste the Golden Spray" was not profitable.
• Final Cut - 1998 Movie. Jude Law hides video cameras around a house to secretly film his friends. Later people are viewing the film, and are shocked to find a scene of Jude's friend's wife noisily peeing into the toilet.
• Holy Smoke! - 1999 Movie. A man played by Harvey Keitel is trying to deprogram a woman played by Kate Winslet. The woman's efforts at seduction fail until she urinates down her leg.
• Scary Movie 2 - 2001 Movie that pokes fun at horror movies. Ray Shawn Wayans asks Brenda Regina Hall to talk dirty to him, she responds by telling him she wants to "piss on your face".
• Visitor Q 2001 Japanese movie. A young woman wearing a trash bag stands in a kitchen and lactates and urinates. Her breast milk squirts toward a man who is watching the action while protected by a transparent umbrella.
• Father's Affair - 2003 movie. Carice van Houten gets out of her car to pee, and her boyfriend watches and gets horny.
• London Voodoo - 2004 Movie. Sara Stewart is caught peeing into a kitchen pot that is sitting on the floor.
• American Pie Presents Band Camp- 2005 Movie DVD version only. In a feature called "Rover Cam," the camera follows a cheerleader into the bathroom and watches her use the toilet. She then throws a tissue at the "rover cam," flushes, and walks out.
• Green River Killer - 2005 Movie. The killer Gary Ridgway (played by George Kiseleff) picks up a woman for sex and takes her home and asks her to take a shower. He then tells her to pee, and she says that golden showers are $100 more.
• Conversations with Other Women - 2005 Movie. After spending the night with Aaron Eckhart, Helena Bonham Carter excuses herself to go to the bathroom. He asks to go with her but she refuses.
• Hitch 2005 movie DVD Deleted Scenes. Sara Eva Mendes is urinating outdoors. A boat passes by and Hitch Will Smith tries to shield her from them, telling the boat passengers "Why don't you take a picture?", but he does a bad job of blocking and some of the passengers do indeed snap photos of her squatting.
• Suicide Girls: The First Tour 2005 Documentary DVD [3]. One of the Suicide Girls is shown squatting and peeing in some sand as one of the other girls takes her picture.
• Flannel Pajamas - 2006 movie. Julianne Nicholson bends over naked and pees in her bathtub while bieng watched by a male
• Borat: Cultural Learnings of America for Make Benefit Glorious Nation of Kazakhstan - 2006 movie, Borat played by Sacha Baron Cohen claims to enjoy watching ladies "make toilet," and shows off several pictures of women sitting on toilets.
• Shortbus 2006 movie. The five stages of female pleasure are discussed, with micturition being stage four.
• The Night Buffalo - 2006 Mexican Movie. Tania Liz Gallardo pees on Manuel Diego Luna.
• Sheitan - 2006 French Movie In a flashback, Olivier Barthelemy is shown making out with a "squirter" girl (with wet panties) on a camping trip.
• Grindhouse - 2007 movie. In "Death Proof," Lee (Mary Elizabeth Winstead) announces that a boy likes to watch her pee, and her friends sing a song about it.

Censorship

In New Zealand, publishing (i.e. even making available on one's web page) anything containing urophilia is a felony punishable by up to ten (10) years in jail.
