Wikipedia:Requests for undeletion

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

This is an old revision of this page, as edited by Grsjst (talk | contribs) at 19:37, 20 November 2011 (CHORUS+: new section). The present address (URL) is a permanent link to this revision, which may differ significantly from the current revision.

Welcome. Please note that this page is NOT for challenging the outcome of deletion discussions nor to address the pending deletion of any page.

Requests for undeletion is a process intended to assist users in restoring pages that were uncontroversially deleted via proposed deletion, under certain speedy deletion criteria (such as CSD G6), or in articles for deletion debates with little or no participation other than the nominator. This page is also intended to serve as a central location to request that deleted content be userfied or emailed to you so the content can be improved upon prior to re-insertion into the mainspace, or used elsewhere (you may also make a request directly to one of the administrators listed here). This means that content deleted after discussion—at articles for deletion, categories for discussion, or miscellany for deletion among other XfD processes—may in some cases be provided to you, but such controversial page deletions will not be overturned through this process.

This page is only for requesting undeletion of articles which have already been deleted. If the article you are concerned about is still visible, but has a warning message (template) at the top, please do not post here, but follow the instructions on the template or on your talk page.

Note that requests for undeletion is not a replacement for deletion review. If you feel an administrator has erred in closing a deletion discussion or in applying a speedy deletion criterion, please contact them directly. If you are unable to resolve the issue on their talk page, it should be raised at Wikipedia:Deletion review, rather than here.

wyandotte art fair

significance -Jimbob1122 (talk) 23:52, 10 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

This event was deleted due to promotion. this page was not put on wikipedia for any promotional purpose. It is significant to the area of detroit and southeast michigan, due to the fact that it is the largest art fair of its kind in the area and is 51 years old. Many communities really this site for information for many subjects and events. so we think this would be a great spot to put information on the fair here about the history and what types art is celebrated here.

Thank you for your consideration,

James Roberts

Not done The article was deleted because it had two edits: one was to create it, the second was by the same person who then completely blanked it. The article itself was unreferenced (other than its own website, which does not count), showed not signs of notability ... in other words, did not meet Wikipedia requirements. If you wish to create a WP:USERSPACEDRAFT of something that might pass our requirements for en encylopedia article, then please feel free to try (talk→ BWilkins ←track) 00:04, 11 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

And if Jimbob is referring to Wyandotte art fair · ( talk | logs | links | watch ) · [revisions], that article was deleted as blatant spam. On reviewing the deleted text, it is also a copyright violation, so it will not be restored. —C.Fred (talk) 03:18, 17 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

capital cup national undergraduate mooting tournament

This event is completely non-profit and is notable because it is among the first of its kind in Canada since it's not for professional law students. The article isn't "advertising" anything... it's informative and is meant as a reference point for people interested in mooting in general. It has also been reviewed by two other users who've helped with adding links etc. to make it fit Wikipedia's standards. -EricOntario (talk) 08:12, 12 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

The author of this article has clearly a conflict of interest in this, seeing his personal attack on User talk:Night of the Big Wind#Capital Cup Speedy Deletion [redacted link to linkedin page]. Secondly, the tournament had only one edition yet. Thirdly, the tournament has only 68 hits on internet (was 107), including fora, the own website, facebook, linkedin and twitter. And 0 (zero) hits on Google News. Completely not notable and worth the speedy deletion for being an advertisement. Night of the Big Wind talk 09:14, 12 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Campaign reformation movement

The page was deleted for not stating it's importance WHEN The page actually stated its importance as being a page on a group that has a heavy influence in the Occupy Detroit Movement. Even when another and I contested the deletion stating it's importance, the page was still deleted. It made me susceptible that no one had actually read the page or the talk page. I understand if the page were put up for speedy deletion just to see if Those that have put effort into creating it would defend it, but we were deleted for an invalid purpose. Please put the page back up so society can understand the group's goals and intentions. -Mudeater101 (talk) 19:36, 12 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

  •  Not done The current status of the deleting admin means zero in the case of deletions. First, this deletion occurred more than 2 years ago. Second, the article was horrifically self-promotional. A registered user would be fine creating a WP:USERSPACEDRAFT, trying to meet Wikipedia requirements, but they should have it reviewed before making it a live article. Malformed Request - please use {{subst:refund|pageName|reasoning}} (replacing pagename with the name of the page you wish to have restored and reasoning with the reason for your request).. To top it off there are two concerns that must be addresses: #1) conflict of interest...and #2) the biographies of living persons requires valid, third part references for any biography of a living person, and none of the references in the article met that requirement. Category:English Roman Catholic Religious Sisters

This was deleted after some discussion, but it followed a discussion which focused only on the English, of which so far there was only one entry. The categorization of that article is now incorrect, and was based on "general knowledge". Would any other field accept such reasoning? Additionally, there are other national categorizations of Religious Sisters by nationality. Are the English to be the gap in this representation? Category:Articles using divbox template

Deleted because it was empty (C1 speedy), however it is populated by Template:Divbox when there is misuse of the template to assist in cleanup. From the template documentation: "This template will automatically add inappropriate uses to category:articles using divbox template for cleanup." I'm guessing there's probably a template or category for such categories as this one that was not applied to protect it form mistaken deletion (It's been a while since I've been really active). I came across this, figured it was a mistake, so here is the undeletion request. Cheers. -Ned Scott 05:43, 14 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Fracture (fanzine)

This article was deleted with the reason "It's an old article, but is the subject notable?". I would suggest that it is notable since Fracture Fanzine was the largest punk fanzine the UK has ever produced and was particular dominant during the late 1990s and early 2000s, producing 25 issues with a distribution of over 5000 for each issue. It is listed in the article titled 'Punk zine' amongst other notable punk fanzines of the past 30 years.
