Shiroor Matha is a Hindu monastery and one of the Ashta Mathas of Udupi. It which was founded by Sri Vamana Tirtha,[1] who was a direct disciple of Sri Madhvacharya, the founder of the Dvaita school of Hindu philosophy. As of 2018, 30 Swamijis have headed this matha. The current Swamiji is Sri Lakshmivara Teertha who was passed away on Thursday 19, July 2018.[2]
