Blue Apron Inc. is an American meal delivery service that provides customers across the United States with weekly pre-proportioned meals.[1] Founded in August 2012, the company ships 8 million meals per month.[2]

Public health and safety violations

Since establishing a packaging and distribution facility in Richmond, California, Blue Apron has had several health citations, and encounters with the Richmond police department. In August 2015, after a two-week inspection from the California Division of Occupational Health sand Safety, lead to "proposed penalties of $11,695" for unsafe work conditions.[3] In the first three and a half years since opening the Richmond facility, four arrests have been made due to violence, or threats of violence, at the facility.[4][5][6]
