An election for Mayor of Chicago is scheduled to be held on February 26, 2019. The election is officially nonpartisan, and the winner will be elected to a four-year term. If no candidate receives a majority of votes, a runoff election will be held on April 2, 2019. Incumbent mayor Rahm Emanuel is not running for a third term.[1] Emanuel was first elected in 2011 (winning in the first round with 55.19% of the vote) and reelected in 2015 (receiving 55.7% of the vote in the runoff election). The filing deadline to be a candidate is November 26, 2018.
