Suess (Martian crater)
Template:Infobox Mars crater Suess is an impact crater in the Mare Australe quadrangle of Mars, located at 67.1°S latitude and 178.6°W longitude, and is in the south of Terra Sirenum. It measures 71.9 kilometers in diameter and was named after Eduard Suess. The name was approved in 1973, by the International Astronomical Union (IAU) Working Group for Planetary System Nomenclature.[1]
The western crater rim almost and narrowly touches the 180th meridian and the boundary with Terra Cimmeria. The central peak is in the western portion. Charlier crater is to the east and further south is the layered Richardson crater.
