RE: Enugu blank.svg
Maybe I can indicate the senatorial zones with colours, I could change them. I already added a map for some LGA's such as Enugu East, I will try and upload the rest later. Template:Enugu LGA map was only used for the Enugu State article which didn't have the LGA template. Ukabia (talk) 16:33, 31 May 2010 (UTC)

Sure and it's my pleasure. And speaking of useful work...you're the one doing the real useful work, with all of the things you've written on Nigerian politics. It's so wonderful to see someone countering systemic bias like that.

Wow Selva Zoque is great! And there was me thinking you only liked to strictly write about Nigerian generals.. Dr. Blofeld White cat 19:52, 6 July 2010 (UTC)
Aw I know you have a large range of interests, remember the Georgia work you did? But whenever I see your name on the new pages it seems to be a Nigerian senator or general!! Anywhere you work is good with me but it is nice to see you working on Mexico! Dr. Blofeld White cat 09:05, 7 July 2010 (UTC)
Yeah, the thing is there is SO much work to do in every department of the project that I tend to spread my editing around. One minute I'll be editing an Argentine film, the next a Sum of Mongolia etc. This project has to be one of the most ambitious ever I think It is incredibly demanding and time consuming building an encyclopedia of this scale. Enjoyable though. Dr. Blofeld White cat 13:34, 8 July 2010 (UTC)
Oax
You are correct, it is a very complex place, climatologically, geographically and socially/culturally. Its one of the few states in Mexico that still has a majority "indigenous" population...While Spanish is undoubtedly spoken by the majority of the citizens, all one has to do is visit a market to realize that Zapotec, Mixtec, and other indigenous languages are still widely spoken. In fact, some of the Universities have started intensive language programs replacing "traditional" offerings of "French" or "German" with Mixtec and Zapotec.
I eventually plan on creating articles for both the Ixtlan municipality and district...but right now my main focus has been gathering materials for articles on several of the larger markets...Wal*Mart has not arrived in Oaxaca yet, but Sam's Club opened about five years ago and several Mexican grocery chains soon followed...and well... the way of life has started to drastically change...and even disappear.
Anyhow, I'll save you my long winded narrative. If I can ever be of any help (photographs, sources, whatnot), just let me know. Regards --nsaum75¡שיחת! 02:53, 6 July 2010 (UTC)
- They look good. I like how you expanded Costa Chica... in fact, I will try to go through later and add your sourced info into the ES.Wiki article (or do you know Spanish?).. That said, they could probably be merged here on EN wiki. Spanish Wiki has less "structure" (oversight, lower article "standards" etc) than EN wiki, and sometimes geographical articles are needlessly separated (or duplicated) from the main article. That appears to be the case here. BTW, in case you were unaware, oaxaqueña/oaxaqueño is the demonym for the english word "Oaxacan". The only reason I bring this up is because sometimes locals will use it as a proper noun for certain things (mostly food stuffs), and it can get confusing (ie: referring to said object as the "Oaxaqueña Oaxaqueña")
- BTW, have you seen this article on Oaxaca?? --nsaum75¡שיחת! 18:48, 6 July 2010 (UTC)
- Good job integrating them. I agree, one of the Spanish Wiki articles is more "formal" and more about the administrative functions. The other....well...sort of reminds me of a cross between a fan site and a tourist brochure. But what can I say...I've seen all sorts of unsourced, unreferenced, and even blatantly plagiarized "crap" survive deletion challenges on es.wiki, while important and properly sourced articles have been deleted because an Admin didn't like the material...I even got chewed out once for adding sources to an article.... Anyhow, its truly a different animal. --nsaum75¡שיחת! 02:59, 7 July 2010 (UTC)
Can you recategorize articles which are districts as Category:Districts of Oaxaca and Category:Regions of Oaxaca. POpulated places is for towns and villages. Thanks! Dr. Blofeld White cat 13:31, 9 July 2010 (UTC)
By all means split it. Template:Huajuapan District, Oaxaca is much better. Doesn't need to be collapsed though. At the time of creation I was not aware that regions and districts existed. The template is HUGE. Go ahead. Veracruz is also way too big. The biggy can remain though in the core articles... Dr. Blofeld White cat 15:03, 9 July 2010 (UTC)
Yeah a tremendous amount of work needs doing on Mexico. Remember before I started on the municipalities 3/4 of them were still missing from wikipedia!! Dr. Blofeld White cat 16:42, 9 July 2010 (UTC)

I have reverted your recent edits. You state on your talk that I 'removed material that had credible sources and added material without citing any sources.' All of the material that was placed was directly from the Ekal Vidyalaya website. All of the material that you have posted was in fact, non-credible, and quite controversial. While new to posting, I do believe that there is a webpage for topic controversies and I urge you to post there.
Second, you write 'The purpose of Wikipedia is to present a summary of what has been said about the subject by reliable independent sources, which may include conflicting views if the subject is controversial.' If there is in fact 'controversies,' again, add it to a separate controversies page or create a separate 'controversies' section. In such manner, you do not confuse controversy with first hand information. For example, you note an article that says that the Ekal Vidyalaya is run by another group. However, on DIRECT discussion with Ekal and overlooking the website, it does not state such. Rather, it states that it is an independent group. You are presenting third and fourth hand information about this group. Please do not slander a group without having first hand experience and, as you mentioned, credible sources. Please place a fair post DIRECT from a particular group onto the website.
This is a fundamental pillar of journalism.

Speedy deletion nomination of Bob Merritt
A tag has been placed on Bob Merritt requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for biographies. You may also wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles – see the Article Wizard.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}}
to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag - if no such tag exists then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hangon tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. Baptists
For what it's worth, in the original text that I wrote, Alabama Baptist was redlinked, in no small part because I found that the other encyclopaedias gave it its own article, or at least a section in an article on Baptist newspapers in Alabama (as Cathcart does). Uncle G (talk) 18:10, 25 August 2010 (UTC)

Oaxaca
Greetings. We are currently preparing Oaxaca for GA. However it is missing info on the regions/districts. I was wondering if you could add a section near the main cities list which lists the regions/districts. preferrably in table format with population info/area etc. Can you help? Dr. Blofeld 18:12, 11 September 2010 (UTC)
That would be a great help. If you want tables use the Berat County type. As long as the pop info is sourced (if you have access to it). Cheers. Dr. Blofeld 18:27, 11 September 2010 (UTC)
Looks perfect, provided it is sourced. Oh I know there are too many municipalities to be included. Mmm. UNless there is a way to have a shrinkable in one column. Nah that sounds too technical. Anyway, they are listed in the district articles thanks to your good work.. Dr. Blofeld 19:53, 11 September 2010 (UTC)
Looks great, thanks for that. Shame the area doesn't quite add up. Dr. Blofeld 09:41, 12 September 2010 (UTC)
Mmm Spanish and German wiki currently use the current infobox figures, We have 13 square kilometres deficit. if I was you, providing you have the reliable 2005 census data I'd change the infobox one to match the section and source it. If sourced people can't question it then. Dr. Blofeld 12:07, 12 September 2010 (UTC)
Well there are a LOT of districts so it doesn't surprise me. Good call. LOL I can't count what's 67-52 Blofeld. For some reason it stills seems 13!! 15 grrrr. As long as it is precise and sourced this is fine. I'll give it a copy edit/cut over the next few days and then nominate for GA. Dr. Blofeld 12:41, 12 September 2010 (UTC)

Biographies: Daniel Skinner
AFD patrol takes one into some unexpected places at times. I've just been looking at Four boxes (AfD discussion). My research turned up the fact that we don't have Daniel Skinner, best known for being the recipient of manuscripts by John Milton and attempting then declining to publish them, but fairly well documented in his own right (with regard to the various academic and governmental disciplinary measures threatened against him during the course of his life, for starters). I'll see whether I can knock together another poor stub. Uncle G (talk) 10:00, 25 September 2010 (UTC)

Emir or Emirate?
hi there,
it's funny I just noticed the same thing as well. Well technically both are different, but I do not have any particular hangups on this, as long as articles get expanded. What I am more concerned about is the wild categorization of Nigerian rulers and states, I've been trying to get some order into that. Gryffindor (talk) 17:24, 29 September 2010 (UTC)
- Oh boy, that sounds very complicated. I think rulers should be understood to be traditional rulers, whereas simple members such as princes etc. should be put under royalty. At least maybe a short explanation can be given in the category in order to avoid further confusion. But thank you for taking care of this area, it looks very interesting. Your DYK nomination and discussion of DYK rules
Hi, Following your decision to withdraw your DYK nomination, I moved the issues you raised for discussion to this place: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia_talk:Did_you_know#Someone_was_unhappy_with_how_the_rules_for_DYK_work Sorry if this seems a little abrupt, but I felt the discussion was not appropriate on the DYK template talk page. I may also have not summarised your viewpoint accurately, but you will be able to correct that. Thank you. --Demiurge1000 (talk) 02:30, 2 October 2010 (UTC)
- Sorry if our edits overlapped. I am never quite sure when it is appropriate to remove something because everyone agrees it should be removed, and when it needs to be kept because it would be rude to remove someone else's comments before others have seen them. Thank you for your constructive approach. --Demiurge1000 (talk) 02:34, 2 October 2010 (UTC)

Discussion pages and indenting
Could you please make an effort to indent your talkpage posts in a manner similar to the guidelines here? Making your message indented one level more than the message is responding to makes the thread much easier to read. Discussions like this, where the text keeps jumping in and out, are hard to keep track of; like this is better. Thank you, rʨanaɢ (talk) 13:27, 2 October 2010 (UTC)
Possible DYKS
I've just glanced over the four articles you mentioned on my talk page, and they all look like good candidates to me. I think you're a bit close to the source material - most people don't know anywhere near as much about the topic, and the insight gained from articles like these is one of the reasons DYK is as popular as it is. I've put together some possible hooks, though they're by no means the only things that could used from the articles:
- ...that a "temporary" regent of Nigeria's Idoani Confederacy ended up ruling the state for over 14 years, as the chiefs couldn't agree on the succession?
- ...that from 1975, many festivals were cancelled throughout the Wukari Federation due to clashes over the passing of leadership from Kuteb and Hausa rulers to a more ethnically mixed council? (Hook could do with shortening, and would require the relevant information from Kuteb people to be copied over to Wukari Federation.)
- ...that the Kebbi Emirate is one of the "seven bastard kingdoms", whose ruling lineage trace their roots back to a Hausa king's concubine?
If you'd rather I nominate them and deal with any problems that arise on the Suggestions page, just let me know. On another note, I think you handled the foofaraw over Four boxes of liberty really well. I've been mostly absent from Wikipedia for a week or two because of the new academic term and missed the action, but from the discussion it seems like a wasted opportunity for a solid article to make it into the section. Hopefully, while not setting a precedent as such, people will keep it in mind the next time something similar comes up. GeeJo (t)⁄(c) • 21:18, 8 October 2010 (UTC)

Cincinnati riots
Well, the page says, to be precise "Red links should be avoided unless they are very likely to be developed into articles" (emphasis mine). Given you are (AFAICT) obviously intent on filling the missing articles, and that the page also states (yay for conflicting guidelines, uh?) "Unlinked text should be avoided.", I think having them linked is a lesser evil. I had never seen this in action, and to be honest I don't like it. There seems to be a developing anti-redlinks culture and it worries me... But here is not the place to talk about it ;) My point is, both are defensible, but if you insist on no redlinks, then IMO, it's better to leave the rest commented out entirely. Unlinked stuff in navigation templates looks far worse than redlinks. Circéus (talk) 00:31, 30 October 2010 (UTC)
- I think the guidelines is intended for niche or borderline topics (as someone unfamiliar might consider your riots, for example). In the case of topics inherently notable (as national politicians are), I see it as a much better way to spur people to action, even if it should skew Special:WantedPages (which I suspect is the one primary reason for the guidelne). Circéus (talk) 00:56, 30 October 2010 (UTC)
- I think by "niche" here I mean topics that are outside the scope of the tighter "general" paper encyclopedias (as opposed to scoped ones on a specific topic or country, etc.). these articles are
perfectly cromulentnotable and appropriate for Wikipedia, but if it weren't for you, let's admit it, they might never get written. Does that make more sense? Trust me, it's not intended to be negative. My own "local interest" DYKs were very much of that sort, and one of my templates might end up having red link issues of its own. Speedy deletion nomination of Tara Singh Malhotra
A tag has been placed on Tara Singh Malhotra, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done for the following reason:
Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not meet basic Wikipedia criteria may be deleted at any time.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hang on}}
to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion, or "db", tag; if no such tag exists, then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hang-on tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. National parks
Excellent work. We do have Template:National Parks of Nigeria but they never got around to being filled. Probably the best thing is to move all of them to Protected areas of anyway to cram in more reserves.♦ Dr. Blofeld 23:02, 6 November 2010 (UTC)
Yeah the thing is though the amount of editors who are likely to "cleanup" a lower key reserve of Nigeria are extremely slim. The artile just needs expansion and more sources, just like 99% of wikipedia articles. Thanks for your help with the Argentine film article.♦ Dr. Blofeld 20:09, 7 November 2010 (UTC)
Ha yes, couldn't agree more. What bugs me is when people slap an "uncategorized" tag on an article though when it would take an equal amount of time to quickly categorize it! As the saying goes, if you want something done, who better than yourself to do so....! ♦ Dr. Blofeld 20:18, 7 November 2010 (UTC)
Darn, I tried making a relief map File:Location map Nigeria relief.png but the coordinates are wrong...♦ Dr. Blofeld 20:52, 7 November 2010 (UTC)
Ah I've spotted my mistake. I'll make another one but less of the surrounding..♦ Dr. Blofeld 21:00, 7 November 2010 (UTC)
how about, featured music by Béla Bartók? That's quite something for an Argentine film I think... I've made another relief map and it works! Try Template:Location map Nigeria relief. I think those maps look better in national park/mountain articles. The only problem is that the pin needs to be a little more prominent. If you need any maps of rivers of Nigeria or whatever let me know. I can too larger scale ones of local areas too..Sankwala Mountains looks OK; shame I can't reduce the hue of the maps a little though..♦ Dr. Blofeld 21:18, 7 November 2010 (UTC)
Ha I added a tag to Shere Hills..♦ Dr. Blofeld 21:39, 7 November 2010 (UTC)
Check out the infobox for Ikoyi.♦ Dr. Blofeld 22:33, 7 November 2010 (UTC)
Well, Argentine is certainly very closely linked to Italy and then Spain and of course Wales in Patagonia. But Bartok is Hungarian... Your hook sounds fine. As for the pin I think I'll change it to black.♦ Dr. Blofeld 09:52, 8 November 2010 (UTC)
What I found with Argentine films is that a lot of the directors were Italian immigrants and most of the actors of Spanish descent. If you look at most Argentinians they do indeed look like a mixture of Spanish and Italian.... unlike the Bolivians and Peruvians where more look Amerindian and Brazil where over half of them are of African origin or a mixture of Portuguese and black. An interesting new article Obalende Suya Express Restaurant -nice kebabs. Also see Kutkai, sneaky little gits haivng a refinery. If I know the Burmese govenrment though it was probably run by the military.♦ Dr. Blofeld 14:18, 8 November 2010 (UTC)
LOL I know. But mixing it up is what keeps it interesting... I am supposed to be focusing on Burmese settlements but can't help but stray...♦ Dr. Blofeld 14:46, 8 November 2010 (UTC)
As Rosie is taking a wikibreak I wondered if you wanted to collaborate with George J. Geis. It occurred to me you did some work on Baptists and churches not too long ago. It would be DYK nominated as a double with Kutkai. Google books and that has lots of sources it seems.. Not that I will make a habit of disturbing you from your Nigerian focus of course... ♦ Dr. Blofeld 15:23, 8 November 2010 (UTC)
How about I wave the Nigerian flag at you regularly?♦ Dr. Blofeld 11:01, 9 November 2010 (UTC)
Super stuff with Geis and those Argentine cinema people. Actually if you can find an image older than 20 years of any of them you can upload under a PD-AR-Photo license. I've nominated geis and Kutkai as a double hook between us. Have you nominated the film yet?♦ Dr. Blofeld 10:43, 10 November 2010 (UTC)
Yeah I'm the same. That's why I detest our strict fair use laws which means that a high proportion of articles are just bland and lifeless without pictures. As they say "a picture is worth a thousand words". Especially for articles on places they make a huge difference.♦ Dr. Blofeld 13:16, 10 November 2010 (UTC)
You have any sources for Burma Art Club?♦ Dr. Blofeld 18:17, 13 November 2010 (UTC)
Ha, well when I see new decent pages coming in on Burma it certainly attracts my attention whoever it is! Very impressive, its shocking how poorly developed our content is on Burmese topics. Burmese artists only had like one article a few days ago and I;m still starting articles on major professions from Burma which had zilch content whatsoever. It is surprising that the info on Burma in places can be OK, I think its British past helps as a lot more english sources are available then countries like Vietnam or Laos or something. Actually you remind me a lot of myself, not just in your interest in poorly covered countries in Asia and Africa but in your personality! I detect you have a good sense of humour, and like myself have a tint of sarcasm! ♦ Dr. Blofeld 18:52, 13 November 2010 (UTC)
Well, sometimes I think too much about what is missing which is why I'm often reluctant to spend too long on one article... Also you show more of an interest in writing biographies that I do...♦ Dr. Blofeld 09:57, 14 November 2010 (UTC)
De nada. If they are long deceased you can claim fair use on them as it is practically impossible to obtain a "free" image. Some of them might be public domain anyway, need to check to see what the Burma imagery license is. If its anything like India it might be pre 1947 for public domain not sure. If you want one or two images of paintings which I'll happily upload, in order to claim fair use you have to write a bit about them in the article I believe to silence the asscritics about "critical commentary"...♦ Dr. Blofeld 13:20, 14 November 2010 (UTC)
LOL though. I'm sure the granddaughters of some of these painters are going to sue wikipedia for use of a 200px image.. The thought of a poor Burmese person paying the legal fees to sue over copyright for dishonoring their family.... I actually think the families of these painters would be overjoyed that these painters are getting a mention in the world's bggest encyclopedia and would probably happily provide images.... Same with images of films appearing in actor articles... Film companies would see it has a benefit to them not a problem I think....♦ Dr. Blofeld 20:32, 14 November 2010 (UTC)
Your changes at Air Myanmar
Hi Aymatth, thank you for your recent input. As I have already stated here, I think that it should better be merged into Myanma Airways - but cut down to encyclopedic content (that is all speculations have to be removed). Also, the section on domestic services in the late 1990s is just wrong. The 1998 planecrash was a Myanma Airways flight. I appreciate your thoughts and comments (and I would like to advise you to answer at the deletion discussion).Per aspera ad Astra (talk) 10:41, 11 November 2010 (UTC)

Hi. I've nominated the painters enmasse at Articles created/expanded on November 14. However any stubs included in there like Bagyi Aung Soe, Win Pe Mint, U Maya Thaung etc need expanding or removing. Also an annoying person has nominated one of them already which will have to be removed. Also it may be over length so can you link the names by their surnames? Can you ensure that everything is correct? Presumably each article will have to have a source saying they hail from Burma...♦ Dr. Blofeld 14:57, 17 November 2010 (UTC)
Ja is a beast of a hook alright. The record though is 26 I think..♦ Dr. Blofeld 15:41, 17 November 2010 (UTC)
Thanks for you expansion. Looks greater. That's one cool lookin dude!! Not that I want to disturb you but I'm currently compiling an article in Wikipedia:WikiProject Uruguay/Montevideo. Very important city of Latin America and an interesting one I find. Any contribution you can make to article in any form would be much appreciated, if not no worries if you are busy elsewhere I understand. I'm hoping between a few of us we can get this monster translated and info added to the poor parts and condensed in the big parts to give a balanced article. The final version should really be 50 kb less...♦ Dr. Blofeld 20:04, 17 November 2010 (UTC)
That would be great. It seriously needs an injection of quality and sourcing and then condensing to give a balanced article. It needs a decent section on geography, adminsitration and economy and religion etc. I hate short paragraphs in articles and overly long ones. I like my articles to be as balanced as possible with plenty of sources and images. Luckily with Montevideo we have plenty of images! Not sure if you have any Spanish skills, did you use google translate on the Argentine film articles? If I have time tomorrow and if you haven't already made it comprehensive enough I'll pop in on you Orissa shipping articles which do look interesting. ♦ Dr. Blofeld 20:17, 17 November 2010 (UTC)
Yeah me too. I'm an intermediate speaker of Spanish, far from fluent but not bad. I find it best to use google translate and then just proof read them in comparison. Its much quicker I find...♦ Dr. Blofeld 20:30, 17 November 2010 (UTC)
Thanks. It seems to be an anti-Tibet today on here today..♦ Dr. Blofeld 20:35, 18 November 2010 (UTC)
India , Pakistan and China are the strongest magnets for POV on wikipedia. One only has to check the history of the Tibet article, Indian cinema and Indian and Pakistani locales and businessmen to see that! iN northern central Pkiastan there appears t be a custom in which th e local taxi driver or bus driver is regarded as "famous" in this "beautiful village which is best in district".When I see any sort of destructive edit made to a Tibet related article I can't help but think it is PRC POV pushers... ♦ Dr. Blofeld 20:49, 18 November 2010 (UTC)
I will try to contribute to this article tomorrow providing I can get the Montevideo article sorted out and I have no more time wasters leaving unsavoury messages on my talk page, obliterating content I've generated or pretend policemen with shiny plastic handcuffs turning up... By the looks of it though you've done a fantastic job (as per usual).. If only we could get all those policemen to leave the force and do the same to articles...♦ Dr. Blofeld 21:08, 18 November 2010 (UTC)
Enjoy the circus show last night? Worst case scenario per usual... Montevideo is taking shape. I'd be very grateufl if you could look at it within the next few days and polish it up, add sources and make it better and more comprehensive... How is Orissa going?
Mauricio Rosencof may interest you.♦ Dr. Blofeld 21:41, 19 November 2010 (UTC)
Nice Montevideo photos. I don't know where to begin with Orissa, When somebody makes a good start at something I find it hard to add to it. I work best when I start something from scratch myself and then others add to it..♦ Dr. Blofeld 21:02, 20 November 2010 (UTC)
Can I offer some advice for the Maritime history article? If it is about maritime history my observation is that 70% of the Early history is not relevant to it. If it was the History of Orissa and the sea it would be OK but I see an article with that and I expect to see the article almost entirely focused on naval history, battles at sea, boats, trade etc. Any thoughts? I've removed the part I didn't think belonged but if you think it really was essential feel free to revert me. I messed up two of the references unintentionally in doing so but you have an unusual way of referencing and list them all at the bottom of the page..♦ Dr. Blofeld 21:11, 20 November 2010 (UTC)
No worries. I have no objections either way it does put it in its background context after all. Its a very tough subject to write about with specialist books. ♦ Dr. Blofeld 12:33, 21 November 2010 (UTC)
Different name? I dunno/ Maritime history is definately a valid article and you've done an excellent job with it so far. It could be merged in the history article, part of it anyway and be allowed to develop seperately. We are missing vast chunks of history in the main article!♦ Dr. Blofeld 12:37, 21 November 2010 (UTC)
Yeah, there was a movement to have the London bus routes deleted in about 2007 but they ended up being kept. Same with lists of pokemon and stuff we have on here which when you say "encyclopedia" you wonder how people could think them "encyclopedic". The strength of wikipedia not being paper is that we can cover a massive range of topics but that doesn't mean we can collect any old junk. Personally I would rather several more million articles like the sort we start and develop on tradiational encyclopedic subjects which is where wikipedia has its potential to cover them as never before. Ignore the crap I guess, heaven knows I've tried to deleted the lists of Power rangers and Pokemon....♦ Dr. Blofeld 13:55, 21 November 2010 (UTC)

French author
I've been cleaning up Bourbons of India (AfD discussion). I noticed that the French Wikipedia's article had wikilinked the name of one of the authors of a source. Do you think that there's enough sourcing available to make a proper biography? Uncle G (talk) 11:22, 23 November 2010 (UTC)
The Bourbons led to this one, too. ☺ Uncle G (talk) 15:17, 23 November 2010 (UTC)

So that you should not in any way feel underworked, the Bourbons led to this missing subject, too, via his father Charles Augustus Kincaid (whose article is fairly pitiful). I don't think that there's enough source material on the grandfather, William (∗1832 †1910), though, unless Tikekar 1992 has more. Uncle G (talk) 15:37, 23 November 2010 (UTC)
Hi, I just approved your hook for DYK. I was wondering, though, why you headed the section about the ships traveling underwater, "Legend". According to your source, this is verified by several sources. Yoninah (talk) 11:15, 25 November 2010 (UTC)

I've just done one of the things that's been outstanding on my to-do list for a while, and which should give the DYK people something to chew on when I get the other thing done. From it, I suspect that John T. Fesperman is another article that we didn't know that we didn't have, if there's a second source to be had. ☺ (I haven't found one yet.) Guinea
Hi. I wondered if you would be interested in creating a few articles from here. Camp Boiro was a notorious concentration camp in Guinea. That list contains some very notable military and political figures, much like you write about for Nigeria..♦ Dr. Blofeld 10:56, 27 November 2010 (UTC)

Very nice. Can you find the office details in the infobox for Fodéba Keïta. I can't find when his office in that position ended.♦ Dr. Blofeld 20:36, 27 November 2010 (UTC)

Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/1915 in jazz. Can they be expanded or not? What do you think? I think each year could be written into decent articles which are well sourced and encyclopedic. Given the current response to them, I don't see too bright a future for the history of jazz on wikipedia... ♦ Dr. Blofeld 16:20, 28 November 2010 (UTC)
I agree, they should all have developed year lists. The problem is that the amount of people actually adding to them like the 1979 article is zilch. In my view it would be best to merge into decades like 1970s in jazz and then when somebody wants to add event details they can split into a seperate year lists. Atleast then in time being they would be cleaned up. Then gradually I or whoever can branch out into a year page if we have some content...♦ Dr. Blofeld 19:06, 28 November 2010 (UTC)
Fair use rationale for File:Herb Wiedoefth Band.jpg
Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:Herb Wiedoefth Band.jpg. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the file description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.
If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Well, it has been extremely successful for the UK. Some of the local photos we have in geograph or where I live are really quite extraordinary. If only we could extend it to the world.... Don't catch a cold down that black hole of knowledge now... ♦ Dr. Blofeld 19:12, 29 November 2010 (UTC)

Can you try to expand 1924 in jazz. I've made a good start. There some dates and info here Somebody at the AFD is trying to say the article wa snot valid that's all and should be directed to List of jazz standards in the 1920s. I need some help to prove otherwise..♦ Dr. Blofeld 13:13, 2 December 2010 (UTC)
I figured as much. Oh I know they won't be deleted now, but I am still interested in writing them, otherwise I wouldn't have started them. I just think if we can get every year up to the 1924 in jazz "standard" pardon the pun, they will be very valuable history articles. I think it is perfectly appropriate to list the standards under a given year too. I am trying to demonstrate to Jafeluv that the articles when developed will contain far greater information that given in the list of jazz standards..♦ Dr. Blofeld 13:57, 2 December 2010 (UTC)
I've started 1920 in jazz, can't find any actual dates though... When My Sugar Walks Down The Street "was"missing I noticed [1]....♦ Dr. Blofeld 17:06, 2 December 2010 (UTC)
Nono, definately not time wasting, I'd be very appreciate of you adding the births pasted from cat scan into the articles. Perfect... I'm beginning to add details for each one so if you could help with that it would be great... ♦ Dr. Blofeld 21:42, 2 December 2010 (UTC)
