Please Use Edit Summaries

[edit]

When editing an article on Wikipedia there is a small field labeled "Edit summary" under the main edit-box. It looks like this:

Edit summary text box

The text written here will appear on the Recent changes page, in the page revision history, on the diff page, and in the watchlists of users who are watching that article. See m:Help:Edit summary for full information on this feature.

Filling in the edit summary field greatly helps your fellow contributors in understanding what you changed, so please always fill in the edit summary field, especially for big edits or when you are making subtle but important changes, like changing dates or numbers. Thank you. Squirepants101 17:29, 10 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Magical land of Droon

Hello, Everyoneandeveryone, you created an article called Droon (magicial land). Unfortunately, you're spelling is not correct. It's "magical" instead of "magicial". I'm going to move the article to the correct spelling. Best regards, --Plumcouch Talk2Me 22:31, 12 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Everyoneandeveryone. Thanks for creating Characters in South Park. I've converted the page into a redirect to South Park#Characters, as that section contains links to detailed, categorised lists of characters and it's probably easiest just to redirect there instead of duplicating all the information on a new page. Codename: Kids Next Door fan forum

[edit]

The article Codename: Kids Next Door fan forum has been speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This was done because the article seemed to be about a person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content, but it did not indicate how or why the subject is notable, that is, why an article about that subject should be included in Wikipedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not assert notability may be deleted at any time. If you can indicate why the subject is really notable, you are free to re-create the article, making sure to cite any verifiable sources.

Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, and for specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. NawlinWiki 21:30, 23 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Blooregard Q. Kazoo

[edit]

Stop moving this article. His name is not Bloo Q. Kazoo. It is either just "Bloo" or the full Blooregard Q. Kazoo. It looks sloppy to half-ass the name change and use an inaccurate name. – Someguy0830 (T | C) 02:23, 24 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Narnia Pages

[edit]

Hi, the Narnia templates that you have been changing to are actually old templates that we are no longer using. They should probably have been deleted, but were not. Instead we're using the single "combined" template that you've seen, and are only including the most important links on that template. You've done a lot of work on those, I'm sorry that they were there to confuse the issue. LloydSommerer 21:03, 16 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

We really have been over this ground before, and the general consensus seemed to be that we would put the same navigation template on each Narnia related page. On the template we would include links directly to the "most important" content and link to Categories, Lists of People/Places... or both to make sure that everything was readily accessible. Again, it's not that what you're doing is bad, we've tried it that way before, and decided to include a navigation template that is "deep" rather than "broad". LloydSommerer 18:05, 17 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I have added a "{{prod}}" template to the article Ralph Sememst, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but I don't believe it satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and I've explained why in the deletion notice (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may contest the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page. Also, please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on Mr. Monk Meets the Playboy, by Rackabello (talk · contribs), another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. Speedy deletion of Sector V Headquarters

[edit]

A tag has been placed on Sector V Headquarters requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a very short article providing little or no context to the reader. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the article's talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. treelo talk 21:30, 1 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

pagemoves

[edit]

Welcome to Wikipedia. Everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia. However, articles should not be moved, as you did to Operation: A.I.R.P.L.A.N.E., without good reason. They need to have a name that is both accurate and intuitive. We have some guidelines in place to help with this. Generally, a page should only be moved to a new title if the current name doesn't follow these guidelines. Also, if a page move is being discussed, consensus needs to be reached before anybody moves the page. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Thank you. (mainly i'm concerned about the move to "Melanie (24 character)", and lack of attempt to clean up after yourself if it was a mistake) —Random832 15:32, 4 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

KND

[edit]

If you would like to propose merges of multiple articles such as these, the discussion should probably take place on the talk page of the page you want to combine them into (i.e. the episode list) rather than on the individual episode pages. —Random832 15:35, 4 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Also, your removal of the links from the Operation: S.O.D.A. disambiguation page was premature, as the pages still exist. —Random832 15:38, 4 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

It's fine - it's just that a merge discussion should probably happen in one place for all the episodes at once, rather than just posting on the talk page of each episode, so that everyone's on the same page. —Random832 15:49, 4 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I've seen your interest in Lost, and that you're still the biggest editor of Adrift. Well, I recently nominated it for the GA, and failed - can you take a look at the article, clean it up, do something to prepare for a second try? Thanks. igordebraga 03:14, 14 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute to Wikipedia, at least one of your recent edits, such as the one you made to Bad Reputation (Glee), did not appear to be constructive and has been reverted or removed. Please use the sandbox for any test edits you would like to make, and read the welcome page to learn more about contributing constructively to this encyclopedia. Thank you.

Also, please review WP:NOTBROKEN. Each character in Glee from Rachel Berry down to Dave Karofsky has their own Wikipedia redirect in addition to the actors and actresses themselves, and they redirect to the characters list. Much easier when it comes to creating Wikilinks, and less load time overall server-wide because the article is that much smaller for each Wikilink. So please do not revise these links into a full-pipe and more complex redirect to the list of characters if a redirect exists. It will be reverted. CycloneGU (talk) 00:47, 1 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

This is an automated message from VWBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of Heroes (season 2), and it appears to include material copied directly from http://entertainment.ezineseeker.com/watch-heroes-episode-streaming-online-14ffe3eb38.html.

It is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article. The article will be reviewed to determine if there are any copyright issues.

If substantial content is duplicated and it is not public domain or available under a compatible license, it will be deleted. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material. You may use such publications as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. See our copyright policy for further details. (If you own the copyright to the previously published content and wish to donate it, see Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials for the procedure.) VWBot (talk) 21:14, 9 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. Before saving your changes to an article, please provide an edit summary for your edits. Doing so helps everyone understand the intention of your edit (and prevents legitimate edits from being mistaken for vandalism). It is also helpful to users reading the edit history of the page. Hi. When you recently edited Everybody Hates Hugo, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page The Uniques (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

You may have noticed over the past few days that the MOTD that you link to on your user page has simply displayed a red link. This is due to the fact that not enough people are reviewing pending MOTDs here. Please help us keep the MOTD template alive and simply go and review a few of the MOTDs in the list. That way we can have a real MOTD in the future rather than re-using (This space for rent). Any help would be appreciated! –pjoef (talkcontribs) 10:07, 7 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Motto of the Day Help Request April 2014

[edit]

Motto of the Day (WP:MOTD) is in a state of emergency and really needs your help! There are not enough editors who are reviewing or nominating mottos at Wikipedia:Motto of the day/Nominations/In review, and this probably means that you will notice a red link or “This space for rent” as our mottos for the next weeks and months.

Please take a moment to review the nominations and nominate your own new mottos at Wikipedia:Motto of the day/Nominations/In review and Wikipedia:Motto of the day/Nominations/'Specials. Any help would be appreciated! MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 09:13, 29 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

This message has been sent by pjoef on behalf of Motto of the Day to all editors of the English Wikipedia who are showing MOTD's templates on their pages, and to all the participants to MOTD: (page, template, and category).

Adrianne Wadewitz Memorial edit-a-thons

[edit]
Adrianne Wadewitz edit-a-thons in Southern New England

As you may have already heard, the Wikipedia community lost an invaluable member of the community last month. Adrianne Wadewitz was a feminist scholar of 18th-Century British literature, and a prolific editor of the site. As part of a worldwide series of tributes, New England Wikimedians, in conjunction with local institutions of higher learning, have created three edit-a-thons that will be occurring in May and June. The events are as follows:

We hope that you will be able to join us, whether you are an experienced editor or are using Wikipedia for the first time.

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. Joseph "Joey" listed at Redirects for discussion

[edit]

An editor has asked for a discussion to address the redirect Joseph "Joey". Since you had some involvement with the Joseph "Joey" redirect, you might want to participate in the redirect discussion if you wish to do so. Paper Luigi TC 14:55, 26 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on Template:Narnia characters requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section T3 of the criteria for speedy deletion because it is an unused duplicate of another template, or a hard-coded instance of another template. After seven days, if it is still unused and the speedy deletion tag has not been removed, the template will be deleted.

If the template is not actually the same as the other template noted, please consider putting a note on the template's page explaining how this one is different so as to avoid any future mistakes (<noinclude>{{substituted}}</noinclude>).

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. --woodensuperman 12:48, 6 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]
