Recent article moved to draft space
Hello, I wanted to thank you for bringing to my attention some of the issues with an article I recently created: Church of God, a Worldwide Association. I have made a few adjustments to the article, but I wanted to reach out to you so that I can learn more specifically about what improvements need to be made to the article. Which sections of the article draw a concern in regard to inadequately sourced material? Is there anything else that you feel needs to be improved? I would greatly appreciate your help and feedback. If you would rather discuss this on the draftspace article's talk page, that is okay with me. Thank you! -- Brad31563 (talk) 03:33, 28 May 2020 (UTC)
- Hi thanks for your message. The guideline for inclusion of a Church on Wikipedia is at WP:GNG. To show notability there must be significant coverage in reliable sources that are independent of the subject. Much of the sourcing in the version I moved to draft was from sourcing that was not independent of the subject. Internal church communications, articles by church founders/leaders, books and articles by such people cannot be used to support notability. Those sources can be used to verify individual statements in an article, but only if a topic can demonstrate notability should it have an article at all. If you can find suitable independent sources the article can be moved back into mainspace. All the best Mccapra (talk) 04:13, 28 May 2020 (UTC)
- Thank you for the clarification Mccapra. This is very helpful, and the guidelines are starting to make more sense to me now. -- Brad31563 (talk) 21:22, 15 June 2020 (UTC)

hey mccapra, i’m sorry you don't know me and i don't know you but yes i am a 19 year old (soon to be 20) and i am all that. my album comes out next week actually, i have music on spotify (and every other streaming service), i am a brand owner and record label owner, and yes i know i am "too young" but i try to manage everything as good as i can. this is a major milestone for a Nicaraguan with such a short age. what is wrong with article per say? i mean i've used every resource i have but in Nicaragua there are not many, all my tv interviews are not online and if they are they are on my dad's facebook page and i’m not going to cite my dad's facebook lmao that's unprofessional af. and i've been to those shows, i've participated on them and i have photo evidence to prove it. I was also named Latin America's youngest fashion designer at age 17 by Fashion Week Nicaragua. so can u tell me why are u submitting this for deletion? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Domkdiogo (talk • contribs) 06:12, 17 June 2020 (UTC)
- Hi if you want to argue that the article should be kept you should make these points on the page for the deletion discussion. All the best Mccapra (talk) 06:24, 17 June 2020 (UTC)
@mccapra, idk how to do that!!! lol i’m kinda new to editing and i’m not only going to do my page, i will do other nicaraguan public figures' pages too. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Domkdiogo (talk • contribs) 06:38, 17 June 2020 (UTC)
- ok here’s what you should do. First read our policy at WP:BIO and think about how the article you created meets this standard. When you’re ready, go to the deletion discussion, put *Keep in a new line and then say why you think the article meets the standard. The discussion will normally stay live for seven days. By the way you are not supposed to write an article about yourself on Wikipedia, and when you contribute to the discussion you must disclose that you are the article subject as well as its creator. Don’t worry about making format mistakes in the discussion, other editors understand that you’re unfamiliar with how these things are dine and will tidy your posts up if necessary. New Page Reviewer newsletter June 2020
Hello Mccapra,
- Your help can make a difference
NPP Sorting can be a great way to find pages needing new page patrolling that match your strengths and interests. Using ORES, it divides articles into topics such as Literature or Chemistry and on Geography. Take a look and see if you can find time to patrol a couple pages a day. With over 10,000 pages in the queue, the highest it's been since ACPERM, your help could really make a difference.
- Google Adds New Languages to Google Translate
In late February, Google added 5 new languages to Google Translate: Kinyarwanda, Odia (Oriya), Tatar, Turkmen and Uyghur. This expands our ability to find and evaluate sources in those languages.
- Discussions and Resources
- A discussion on handling new article creation by paid editors is ongoing at the Village Pump.
- Also at the Village Pump is a discussion about limiting participation at Articles for Deletion discussion.
- A proposed new speedy deletion criteria for certain kinds of redirects ended with no consensus.
- Also ending with no change was a proposal to change how we handle certain kinds of vector images.

Nomination for deletion
Hi Mccapra - I attempted to comment on the proposed deletion of https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Articles_for_deletion/John_E._Lisman_Memorial_Lecture_in_Vision_Science. I am new to these sorts of discussions and I added a comment by using the "Edit Source" button. Is this the right way to do it? Thanks for your hard work contributing to Wikipedia. Stevevanhooser (talk) 00:55, 18 June 2020 (UTC)
- Hi yes you’ve done exactly the right thing. Articles for deletion is pretty intimidating even when you’re not new so thanks for taking it on. The discussion will usually run for seven days and during that time you can make edits to the article and you can comment on the deletion discussion as well. You’re only allowed one vote though so begin your remarks with *Comment rather than *Keep. All the best Mccapra (talk) 04:16, 18 June 2020 (UTC)
A barnstar for you!
The Teamwork Barnstar | |
We did it! The Feb 09 orphans category is finally empty. This feels downright historical. ♠PMC♠ (talk) 01:59, 24 June 2020 (UTC) |
- Haha thank you! I sat watching it until I fell asleep so I wouldn’t miss the moment but alas, I did. Great collective effort! Mccapra (talk) 03:17, 24 June 2020 (UTC)
- I'm pretty stoked. Definitely an awesome piece of teamwork! There's another couple of users who used to be pretty active Feb09 deorphaners, but one hasn't edited since 2018 and one hasn't edited since May this year :( Shame, because I'd have liked to get to celebrate with them too. ♠PMC♠ (talk) 04:28, 24 June 2020 (UTC)
- Goodness knows how many we each did, but until recently it did seem endless. I was convinced the last 2,000 or so would ge really hard to deal with, but that turned out to be wrong. I’ve done enough deorphaning for the time being though so after three years I’ve taken my name off the project membership and I’m going to focus on new page review for the time being. It’s nice to deal with some good quality new stuff rather than spending my time rooting about with old stubs. Mccapra (talk) 08:14, 24 June 2020 (UTC)
- Well, your efforts will be sorely missed, although I understand the need for a change of pace. Hopefully you have fun at NPP! Cheers :) ♠PMC♠ (talk) 09:42, 24 June 2020 (UTC)

@Mccapra: Despite the fact that I consider your claim to be unfounded, I have put several sources in my article. I ask you to check my article and return it from the draft. 'Doomer1557' ( talk) 14:57, 28 June 2020 (UTC )
- Hi Doomer1557. There is no such thing as ‘a fact that does not require authoritative confirmation’ on English Wikipedia. All facts require sources or they don’t belong in encyclopaedia mainspace. Russian Wikipedia may have a different standard, but I don’t know. If you want to add sources to the draft article there is no reason why it can’t then come back into mainspace. All the best, Mccapra (talk) 09:46, 28 June 2020 (UTC)
- I would list a few large, frequently visited articles without authoritative sources, but I am afraid that you will send them to the Draft. Anyway, check out my article. All the best 'Doomer1557' ( talk) 14:57, 28 June 2020 (UTC )
- Hi Doomer1557 sadly you’re right that there are lots of articles on en.wiki without sources. A number of editors, including me, either move them to draft space for further work if they’re new, or out them up for deletion if they’re old. An en.wiki article sometimes doesn’t have sources but is linked to an article on another language wiki that does. In this case I tag the article and leave it because sufficient sources exist and can be copied over. As you say though in this case the ru.wiki article doesn’t have sources either.

- Thanks for adding sources to the draft. Of the four you’ve added so far, 1. does not look like a reliable source to me, 2. and 3. I can’t access, and 4. while relevant, does not support the inclusion of individuals on this list. Anyway if you continue to add sources you can submit it through [Articles for creation] where you will get a different (more reasonable?) reviewer than me. All the best Mccapra (talk) 10:06, 28 June 2020 (UTC)
- Are you smart enough to criticize my article, but not enough to test it normally? In this case, you better not do this at all. All the best. 'Doomer1557' ( talk) 14:57, 28 June 2020 (UTC )

About the links
1. Link to a fairly reputable site with a large number of sources.
2 and 3. These are not internet links. This is a chapter and a page from the literature. This way of communicating information is also used frequently wikipedia.
4. And what?
5. I added a fifth link.
Now I demand that you, as the person who moved the article to Draft, check it and move it back. I do not want to wait "5 weeks or more" while the article will be checked. 'Doomer1557' ( talk) 14:57, 28 June 2020 (UTC )

This page now has an appropriate reference. Is it now suitable to be restored to main space?
If "no", then Jatinegara-Manggarai railway should also become a draft, as it (i) uses the same reference; and (ii) is even shorter.
AlgaeGraphix (talk) 23:21, 29 June 2020 (UTC)
- Hi thanks for improving this draft. To come into encyclopaedia mainspace this article needs to meet WP:ORG, so needs multiple reliable independent sources. If you can add a couple more it will be ready for acceptance. Thanks Mccapra (talk) 06:25, 30 June 2020 (UTC)
New page reviewer granted
Hi Mccapra. Your account has been added to the "New page reviewers
" user group. Please check back at WP:PERM in case your user right is time limited or probationary. This user group allows you to review new pages through the Curation system and mark them as patrolled, tag them for maintenance issues, or nominate them for deletion. The list of articles awaiting review is located at the New Pages Feed. New page reviewing is vital to maintaining the integrity of the encyclopedia. If you have not already done so, you must read the tutorial at New Pages Review, the linked guides and essays, and fully understand the deletion policy. If you need any help or want to discuss the process, you are welcome to use the new page reviewer talk page. In addition, please remember:
- Be nice to new editors. They are usually not aware that they are doing anything wrong. Do make use of the message feature when tagging pages for maintenance so that they are aware.
- You will frequently be asked by users to explain why their page is being deleted. Please be formal and polite in your approach to them – even if they are not.
- If you are not sure what to do with a page, don't review it – just leave it for another reviewer.
- Accuracy is more important than speed. Take your time to patrol each page. Use the message feature to communicate with article creators and offer advice as much as possible.
The reviewer right does not change your status or how you can edit articles. If you no longer want this user right, you also may ask any administrator to remove it for you at any time. In cases of abuse or persistent inaccuracy of reviewing, or long-term inactivity, the right may be withdrawn at administrator discretion. Barkeep49 (talk) 02:21, 2 July 2020 (UTC)
- That’s great thank you very much. Mccapra (talk) 03:00, 2 July 2020 (UTC)
Nicole Elgrissy's page
Hello. Thanks for your concern. I just translated the French Wikipedia entry of Nicole Elgrissy. https://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nicole_Elgrissy
The same sources were used for the translation.
Please let me know if something else is needed?
-- Bigdoul --
- Hi Bigdoul. The sourcing requirements for the biography of a living person are very high. Please see WP:BLPRS. Before I moved this to draft it had only two sources. Both related only to minor elements of the article, and both were interviews. The article needs reliable secondary sources before it can be accepted into mainspace. - Yes I agree. I’ve tidied it up a bit. I think if you can do a bit more work in it by adding material and sources from the fr.wiki or ar.wiki sites that will help, but it is probably ready for review. I’m not an Articles for Creation reviewer however so I will need to leave it to another editor to complete that stage. Thanks for your work on this. Mccapra (talk) 21:41, 21 July 2020 (UTC)

Dear Mccapra,
Regarding Wikipedia:Articles_for_deletion/Cream_Roll_(mountain), you point out the source and the facts are questionable, I agree with what you said. I like to kindly disagree with bad-faith part and suggest using alternative word other than "bullshit", which seems a bit biting.

Speedy deletion nomination of Gwauam
If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Gwauam requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a band or musician that does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. Mcampany (talk) 05:20, 2 August 2020 (UTC)
- Sorry, I couldn't stop twinkle from sending this to you. It's not your page, it's one you draftified that the author moved back to mainspace. Take care! Mcampany (talk) 05:21, 2 August 2020 (UTC)
- No worries. I could have speeded it myself earlier on I guess. All the best. Mccapra (talk) 08:16, 2 August 2020 (UTC)
- For what it's worth, I think draftifying it first was the right choice. The speedy only made sense in this case because they moved it right back to mainspace without changing anything. It didn't make sense to draftify again if they were going to move it back. ;) Keep up the good work! Mcampany (talk) 04:10, 3 August 2020 (UTC)
