Orphaned non-free media (File:HGlogo.png)

Thanks for uploading File:HGlogo.png. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Hazard-Bot (talk) 04:20, 29 July 2012 (UTC)

Unreverted Edit

Re: Cross and Sword, see talk page. I have no idea why you posted a "Welcome to Wikipedia, here's how to edit" message on my talk page, but there's no case whatsoever for that claim and no, it was not "supported" by the ref. LoverOfArt (talk) 08:23, 24 July 2012 (UTC)

I noticed the fallacious statement as being something that ran contrary to my own observations and wasn't too surprised to see the citation wasn't from a reliable source, ergo, the delete.

Hi Mgreason. I'm leaving you this message because you have previously been involved as an adopter with Wikipedia's Adopt-a-user program. A clean-up of this program is currently underway, and as part of the process I am trying to find out who is and isn't still interested in remaining an adopter.

If you would prefer not to be part of the adoption program anymore, you need do nothing; when the overhaul of the project is completed your name will be removed from the list of active adopters. However, if you have current adoptees, an active adoption school or an interest in adopting in the near future, then please let us know by signing here.

If you want to remain in the project and can currently take on more adoptees, there is a serious backlog at Category:Wikipedians seeking to be adopted in Adopt-a-user; it would be enormously helpful if you could take on one or two of the users there. Please do keep an eye on the project for upcoming changes, we could use your opinions and your help! Yunshui  09:11, 19 September 2012 (UTC)

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Jacksonville Port Authority, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page John Peyton (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). File permission problem with File:FriedkinThomasH31811.jpg

Thanks for uploading File:FriedkinThomasH31811.jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file agreed to license it under the given license.

If you created this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read the Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Sfan00 IMG (talk) 21:45, 28 September 2012 (UTC)

Questions

I would like to join the Florida group or project, but can't figure out how to do it. I think the Help needs help- too much of what it offers seems aimed at people who already know what they're talking about, but that is a feeling I have often had with computer instructions, too.

My particular interest is the railroad history of our state. I've been researching this stuff for years and spent many hours in the library working my way through the Times-Union microfilm, taking notes as I went. I have made a few contributions so far, but it was a slog and I'm still not sure I'm getting it.

Any suggestions you can make would be appreciated.

I chose you out of the list of Florida users simply because you live in Jax. So do I.

Thanks for your attention-

Larry Brennan

A tag has been placed on Edmin M. Stanton School, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done for the following reason:

According to WP:Redirects for discussion, improbable typos can qualify for CSD. Definitely improbable.

Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not meet basic Wikipedia criteria may be deleted at any time.

If you think that the page was nominated in error, contest the nomination by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion" in the speedy deletion tag. Doing so will take you to the talk page where you can explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but do not hesitate to add information that is consistent with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. dci | TALK 23:22, 12 November 2012 (UTC)

I just tranferred one of your pictures: File:StJohnsCathedralJaxInside.PNG over to Wikimedia Commons: commons:File:StJohnsCathedralJaxInside.PNG. I've tagged it as an image that needs cleaning up, but the only way that can happen is by replacing it with the original photo. DYK? Nomination Review

In regards to your List of springs in Florida DYK? nomination, I meant that you should try using Wikipedia citation templates (they are on this page-- http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Citation_templates ) in order to make some of your references more thorough. You do not need a reference for every single item--your current references are good enough, but some of them might need to be cited better. Futurist110 (talk) 08:04, 9 February 2013 (UTC)

Never mind. I checked this article right now and you fixed your last several links. This was what I meant before by "more thorough". Thus, I am already approving your DYK? nomination right now. Sorry for the confusion. Futurist110 (talk) 08:08, 9 February 2013 (UTC)

DYK for Corky Rogers

The DYK project (nominate) 00:04, 23 June 2013 (UTC)

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Haydon Burns Library, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Wells Fargo Center (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Jacksonville neighborhoods map

Hi Mgreason, please see my comments at Talk:Neighborhoods of Jacksonville. The new map is better but I don't think it quite cuts it. Thanks,--Cúchullain t/c 17:04, 27 June 2013 (UTC)

Orphaned non-free media (File:HG5star.PNG)

Thanks for uploading File:HG5star.PNG. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that will be useful.

Thank you. Hazard-Bot (talk) 07:14, 22 July 2013 (UTC)

Grace A. Dow Memorial Library

Hi! I have been working on the Grace A. Dow Memorial Library page, but am a new user. Since I work for the library, I now realize I have a conflict of interest. I would like to continue updating the page when I see problems. Thanks for correcting the external links section. I think I have also caused some damage to the references, and was planning to correct that when I finished editing. I have a chunk of new information in my sandbox that I haven't released yet. Is there a guideline for the information to be included for libraries?

I did see a problem with the gps coordinates and corrected them, but think I have a formatting problem in the box.

Thanks for any advice you can give. (MadLibn 19:39, 5 August 2013 (UTC)) — Preceding unsigned comment added by Madlibn (talkcontribs)

Are you going to return to this? I'm sorry other people haven't reviewed the list, but I do think it's close to becoming featured. Reywas92Talk 16:41, 10 August 2013 (UTC)
