Could you please consider editing the Raid on 1704 Deerfield page? The 1704 “Indian House” door is At the [Memorial Hall Museum] and protected by [the Pocumtuck Valley Memorial Association] or [PVMA Deerfield], a not for profit historical museum that predates [Historic Deerfield]. There is a related link already on the page but PVMA is not mentioned; it is infamously overshadowed with by its commercial neighbor. Filter 31

[edit]

Hello, NawlinWiki. Not sure if you saw my ping at WP:EFN#Unprivate edit filter 31 (ASCII art). I'm planning on switching the bit to "public" in the next few days, unless anyone else objects. I don't know the full history of the filter, but the general trend in recent years has been to make more filters public and I'm not seeing anything LTA-related in the recent hits. Shock Site Revision

[edit]

Hello! I just wanted to thank you for reverting the addition to the Shock Site page last week. I appreciate you removing the short addition the introduction that another user added about Wikipedia being a shock site. I have been trying to revise the page as previously there was very little information about it. I integrated the old information into the sections I added about History, Legality, Morality and Media when I first revised the page. I was wondering if you had a moment to look at the content because another user asked to add back the original information at the end under "Examples", which means the information is now duplicated. I am considering removing it from the other sections, but that means the Media section will likely have to be removed as there will be little information and leaving BestGore out of the History section feels like missing part of the story (so to speak). Do you have any advice on what I should do? Either way, thank you for your rollback! -Bcstanley1 (talk) 04:55, 12 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]

I think the page flows better with the examples at the end rather than in History - maybe you could move the BestGore information down there. Thanks, NawlinWiki (talk) 20:29, 12 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Please be aware of this!

[edit]

While I am not concerned enough to report this to WP:EMERGENCY, I felt I should let an admin know about this [[1]]. CLCStudent (talk) 21:16, 12 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Damon Runyon's short story "Dancing Dan's Christmas" is a fun read if you have the time. Right from the start it extols the virtues of the hot Tom and Jerry

This hot Tom and Jerry is an old-time drink that is once used by one and all in this country to celebrate Christmas with, and in fact it is once so popular that many people think Christmas is invented only to furnish an excuse for hot Tom and Jerry, although of course this is by no means true.

No matter what concoction is your favorite to imbibe during this festive season I would like to toast you with it and to thank you for all your work here at the 'pedia this past year. Best wishes for your 2020 as well NW. MarnetteD|Talk 20:56, 17 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]

First of all, I am happy to see you again--apparently I missed your return? Good for us, and thank you. Second, I just removed what I consider to be UNDUE content from the article, so I shouldn't be the one deciding on whether to semi-protect it until that tiny nugget of Twitter news goes away. FWIW, there was some real vandalism, but I get the feeling it's really not enough to semi-protect it right now; I'd appreciate you taking a look. Are you one of those people still basking in the glory of the LSU win? Just remember, Bama came pretty close to beating them, and I think Saban is pissed. One of these days User:Tide rolls and I are going on a road trip to the Big Easy to the bon temps rouler: we'll give you fair warning. Drmies (talk) 21:24, 15 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

A heads-up

[edit]

You deleted an article about nn toddler Gianna Bryant in 2009. I would have concurred. However, it is a decade later, and 13 year old Gianna Bryant appears to have become a basketball prodigy. I spent an hour or so working on User:Geo Swan/Gianna Bryant, and I think she measures up our inclusion criteria, today. I think she measured up in 2018.

It was subsequently fully protected.

I've called for the protection to be removed at Talk:Gianna Bryant.

Cheers! Geo Swan (talk) 03:11, 28 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Deleted page - P&G IWS

[edit]

Hi,

Firstly, apologies if I contravened Wikipedia rules. I'm contesting the deletion of the Proctor & Gamble Integrated Work Systems article. I would understand if there is a conflict of interest and will put a COI notice on it, but this is an improvement methodology that is valid and has robust methodologies and is an equal to Six Sigma. For this reason, I believe it is not advertising, but an improvement to the manufacturing knowledge of the world.

Please let me know if anything can be adjusted to make this article viable for Wikipedia.

Thank you.

EY(IWS) (talk) 22:12, 28 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

  • The article has to be written in a neutral tone and supported by third-party sources (not IWS itself). The article as written sounded like it was directly copied from IWS PR material. Please consider writing a draft in your userspace - if you do, let me know and I'll take a look. Thanks, NawlinWiki (talk) 15:30, 29 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

With regards to the 3rd party sources, would this type of article be considered? https://empoweringcpo.com/downloads/iws-supply-network-pillar/

Joni Sternbach deletion

[edit]

Greetings -- Looking for the original page on Joni Sternbach added by students for the Art and Feminism Wikipedia Edit-a-thon. Apparently it wasn't up to snuff and I didn't have a watch on it so was unaware it had been deleted. We'd like to add to the original material but can start anew if necessary. She's a significant artist and we can prove it, and not only because she's referenced in numerous other Wikipedia entries. Consider lowering protection on Blackwater USA?

[edit]

It's probably not necessary to have such a high level of protection on said redirect, and the current protection prevents retargeting (which is necessary due to a recent page move) and adding rcats. Unless it's a high target for vandals, I'd appreciate if you lowered the protection level to ECP or removed it entirely (the article Blackwater (company), in comparison, has no protection at all). This will be implemented the week of December 13th, but if you wish to self-assign you may do so now. To find out when the change has gone live or if you have any questions please visit the Administrator's Noticeboard. 20:06, 7 December 2021 (UTC)

How we will see unregistered users

[edit]

Hi!

You get this message because you are an admin on a Wikimedia wiki.

When someone edits a Wikimedia wiki without being logged in today, we show their IP address. As you may already know, we will not be able to do this in the future. This is a decision by the Wikimedia Foundation Legal department, because norms and regulations for privacy online have changed.

Instead of the IP we will show a masked identity. You as an admin will still be able to access the IP. There will also be a new user right for those who need to see the full IPs of unregistered users to fight vandalism, harassment and spam without being admins. Patrollers will also see part of the IP even without this user right. We are also working on better tools to help.

If you have not seen it before, you can read more on Meta. If you want to make sure you don’t miss technical changes on the Wikimedia wikis, you can subscribe to the weekly technical newsletter.

We have two suggested ways this identity could work. We would appreciate your feedback on which way you think would work best for you and your wiki, now and in the future. You can let us know on the talk page. You can write in your language. The suggestions were posted in October and we will decide after 17 January.

Thank you. /Johan (WMF)

You blocked this user almost a decade ago as a sock of a long term abuser; they requested unblock then and it was denied.

Now, in what is the longest gap I have ever seen between unblock requests, they are requesting again.

Are you editing frequently enough to take a look? Daniel Case (talk) 07:36, 12 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Never mind. Brucejenner is community-banned; we have to go through that process if he's a sock. Daniel Case (talk) 07:38, 12 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Page unprotection

[edit]

Hi Nawlin, can you please unprotect the redirect page Sharon, Ariel that you fully protected in 2012? Thanks, ‑‑Neveselbert (talk · contribs · email) 04:52, 16 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

New administrator activity requirement

[edit]

The administrator policy has been updated with new activity requirements following a successful Request for Comment.

Beginning January 1, 2023, administrators who meet one or both of the following criteria may be desysopped for inactivity if they have:

  1. Made neither edits nor administrative actions for at least a 12-month period OR
  2. Made fewer than 100 edits over a 60-month period

Administrators at risk for being desysopped under these criteria will continue to be notified ahead of time. Thank you for your continued work.

[edit]

An editor has identified a potential problem with the redirect Radioactive (Radioactive) and has thus listed it for discussion. About a redirect that you have protected

[edit]

Please consider un-protecting April Fool Day that you protected in 2009 since there is little incentive to edit and change the redirect target (there being no move war at April Fools' Day) or to move the redirect itself. Thanks, NotReallySoroka (talk) 02:04, 7 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]

ArbCom 2022 Elections voter message

[edit]

Hello! Voting in the 2022 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23:59 (UTC) on Monday, 12 December 2022. All eligible users are allowed to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

If you wish to participate in the 2022 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. If you no longer wish to receive these messages, you may add {{NoACEMM}} to your user talk page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 00:21, 29 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Draft:MasterSeries

[edit]

Hi, the original version of this page was tagged for speedy deletion. I have since taken on board the comments and recreated.

I would still like to request the content of the previous deleted page if possible. Patmacgin (talk) 12:06, 16 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

A similarly titled page Hoopla Doopla was deleted by you here in February 2012. It was also deleted two other times. I believe the above page, which I recently created, has different content and wish to now create a redirect page with the deleted one's name as a common search term (missing the !). If you have any objection to the creation of this Redirect page, could you respond at Talk:Hoopla Doopla!.shaidar cuebiyar (talk) 03:48, 29 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Can you remove protection for Christopher Schewe

[edit]

I saw someone repeatedly tried to make the page and it got protected, but I was interested in making the page cause I found some reliable sources to at will make the page stick.

So when you get the chance can you remove that protection so I can make the page? Christopher Schewe is what I’m making the page of. Mekalos (talk) 23:45, 11 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Deleted page

[edit]

Hi, I wanted to know if you could please help me retrieve a page that was deleted by you many years ago. At the time, I didn't know a thing about sandboxes, and I'm curious to know what was in Alfred Ka Fart's TDI Camp. I'd like to send it to User:Freddy7GL/Alfred Ka Fart's TDI Camp without losing its original content. Freddy7GL (talk) 19:14, 12 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Request to unprotect HTML redirect

[edit]

The HyperText Markup Language redirect to HTML was full-protected back in 2008 by you, but there's a pending edit request to add maintenance tags. Probably makes sense to undo full protection of it in light of policies changing over the years and indefinite blanket protection of _any_ kind (let alone full protection) is no longer policy unless there's a pattern of vandalism. Icethetics

[edit]

Hi, I was going to create a Wikipedia page for Icethetics, (A hockey jersey fanpage and youtube channel) and I noticed you had deleted a former article in 2012. Being a decade later I feel Icethetics has become a bigger name in recent years. Becoming a reliable source for leaks, (Such as the All-star 2023 jersey) hosting creator interviews (Such as Matt McElroy, designer for the Ontario Reign and formerly the Vegas Golden Knights), and independently being a spot for hockey jersey fans to congregate and enjoy content such as his jersey history or rejected designs series.

It's been used as a source in at least 3 NHL team articles, and I was going to use them for some talk about the fanatics NHL deal. I don't want to step on your toes, so I wanted to let you know of my intentions before creating it. I've begun to start, and if I don't hear back I'll go ahead and start the draft submitting process, and have it go through those trials. MatthewNewHouse (talk) 22:56, 1 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Dirty Dike page

Hey mate, was just wondering if i had your blessing to recreate the Dirty Dike page. He's a big artist in the UK and he dropped a new album today. big fan of high focus records artists (he used to be a member). About 11 years ago you deleted his page for self promotion. it's been a whole decade! i would call them more than notable. Let me know, cheers. Shrapnelnet (talk) 00:07, 2 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Unprotect

[edit]

Hi Nawlin, hope you are doing great! I wanted to request you to please unprotect the page - 'Harsh Jain' which you protected in 2010. I was interested in creating the page cause I found some reliable sources covering the subject. Himalayan7914 (talk) 06:43, 14 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Regarding the page "Civello crime family"

[edit]

Hello,

It's came to my attention that you have removed and sysop-protected the article Civello crime family twelve years ago for supposedly being about a hoax. I don't know what the article contained when you removed it, but "Civello crime family" is another well-known name for the historical Dallas crime family and should redirect there. Could you please unprotect the page so a redirect can be made? Thanks,

Newgrass 82 (talk) 21:58, 2 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

This page has been protected in 2008, after several attempts at COI biographies. Very much justified at that time. 16 years have passed and by now she passes the GNG. I wish to correct what is by now an injustice. Can you please unprotect? gidonb (talk) 22:45, 4 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

By the time I saw I needed to request the unprotection from you first, I had already submitted the request on the unprotection page. My bad. Mentioning it so we will not open many conversations. gidonb (talk) 22:50, 4 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Invitation to participate in a research

[edit]

Hello,

The Wikimedia Foundation is conducting a survey of Wikipedians to better understand what draws administrators to contribute to Wikipedia, and what affects administrator retention. We will use this research to improve experiences for Wikipedians, and address common problems and needs. We have identified you as a good candidate for this research, and would greatly appreciate your participation in this anonymous survey.

You do not have to be an Administrator to participate.

The survey should take around 10-15 minutes to complete. You may read more about the study on its Meta page and view its privacy statement .

Please find our contact on the project Meta page if you have any questions or concerns.

Kind Regards,

WMF Research Team
