A Canterlot Wedding[edit]

Hi, I strongly disagree with changing the image on A Canterlot Wedding to one of Chrysalis. The new image is a pretty big spoiler and also goes against a lot of the marketing for the episodes, which focused exclusively on Cadance and SA. I think an image of Chrysalis would be much better placed in the Plot section under part two. Could you consider changing it? KSL logos[edit]

Please understand that it is very difficult to find good vector logos for corporations and other entities. If you intend to go around and drop non-free logos and only note that the organization has a new logo, please have the courtesy to provide a new one. Removing it starts a time for the existing logo to be deleted. As one who has uploaded logos in the past, it takes a while to find some hard to find logos like KSL, so the two-week period timeclock ticking because you so flippantly delete the reference is frustrating. If you don't find it current enough for your liking in the infobox, move it to the body of the article in a history section. Upload a lo-res logo from their website and put in a notice that a hi-res is wanted, but to just delete it I find lazy. —GreenwoodKL (t, c) 14:19, 15 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I mistakenly used the term hi-res, as I consider SVG an equivalent term. I usually provide where I can an SVG logo that has the capacity to be hi-res due to the vector but at a small size. I do still find it frustrating to feel that you have gone in and removed a logo and expect me or someone else to do the leg-work to find a new logo instead of being prepared to replace it yourself. —GreenwoodKL (t, c) 16:07, 15 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

DNSchanger[edit]

you just recently edited the DNSChanger back from a fairly massive rewriting, which it had bean put a lot of effort behind. your comment was: (rv. I'm sorry, but such a massive change requires consensus)

My question is: Sure, fair enough, but consensus with whom? only yourself, or is there a board somewhere I have not heard about? what is the process to reach consensus for a bigger change like that? other malware writeups already have the same layout, but getting a discussion about it is highly beneficial for all I think. Comments welcome either here or on a mail, thank you.

Thanks for answering the first question. I must say it seem we are very close to a violation of WP:NOTCRYSTAL but that is not my only concern; my concern is that the sudden out-of-context appearance of the term "WinRT apps" only threatens to confuse our non-technical readers. (And remember: We are writing for non-technical readers; technical readers never need reading this article.) They will inevitably cling to the nearest assumption they can cling to: Windows RT.
Please wait for Microsoft to make its move; we will decide what is best afterwards. Let's not entangle ourselves into sensational things just too soon.

Hi. Please correct me if I am wrong but so far the article has said: Windows RT only supports Metro-style apps, only it supports desktop apps too because it supports Office! (Or wait, are they desktop apps?) Then Windows RT apps can only be installed through Windows Store; except the Windows Store can be circumvented because side-loading is supported. So, it looks as if Windows RT can run both desktop apps and install apps from any source. According to you, the only verifiable restriction so far seems to be a dependency on Windows Runtime but does that means there are no Windows API or .NET Framework?
So, I thought perhaps the article can use a little simplification. What do you think?

Windows 8 lead[edit]

Hi.

I wanted to let you know that I reverted your rewrite of the lead because it was very poor. For example, part of it reads:

...and a new "Charms bar" (or accessing system functionality, increased integration with cloud-based services,...

That parenthesis is never closed. There were other syntactic and semantic errors. Besides, a lead section must adequately summarize the entire article and have no novel information of its own, especially unreferenced ones. Please see MOS:LEAD.

The new lead is much better. But there are small issues. First, it does not adequately summarize the whole article. It only summarizes the New features section. Development history is at least as big as that section and must have the same coverage – not in terms of quantity of characters but in terms of quality. Also "fast and fluid" is a peacock term.

On reverting pages[edit]

Just because an IP user makes an edit to a page and doesn't mean should just revert as unexplained. It looks like their edit was copy editing. Speedy tagging as nonsense[edit]

Thanks for patrolling new pages, but please be cautious about using WP:CSD#G1 nonsense. That is only intended for the likes of "))o#u6%y56>K4r7g*~h@^kl" and "WTF???? Yaaayyy LOL!!!!!!". The definition excludes "poor writing, partisan screeds, obscene remarks, implausible theories, vandalism and hoaxes, fictional material, coherent non-English material, and poorly translated material". Article authors may well take offence at a G1 tag.

As regards Katy Perry Lyrics just now, whatever one may think of modern song lyrics, they don't come within the strict definition of G1. What they do come under is WP:CSD#G12 copyright violation, and I have zapped it accordingly.

Windows key[edit]

Hi. A belated happy new year.

This sentence is not necessarily true. My current tablet has Windows key located on the bottom right corner. Did you have any specific tablet in mind?

On the side note, I do not think it is a good idea to start listing tablet models and their start key locations. There is a risk that if we do it for one model, other people will add more.

I am aware of the certification requirements but some manufacturers forgo the certification and Microsoft has no power to force them. Oh, and my tablet is not Windows RT. It is Windows 8.

  • I do not know what more I can do , as there is an issues with this device. As I am a 1st source aka this worked for me on my nexus 7 and the links that I proved worked for my self and other people that I know that had the same issues. I did not say lets reflash this device , etc. If the wikipedia power at be will not admit there is an issue. I placed a message on the talk page to get feed back from people on this issue and you are the 1st person that used the talk facility. As I did not wish to engage in a wiki war as I wanted to work with people , and this is not worth my time to address other people problems , when the work that I listed has been remove a few times.
  • If the sources have to be of higher caliber aka CNET , etc news outlet, payed reporters etc, I will try to keep that in mind for the future, firmware issues like this are hard to source IMHO.
  • But it seems to me that wiki editors need to have a device to remove links when they are editing issues on hardware that they do not own is a bad idea.
  • Thank you for your professionalism as the other editors should have used the talk back facility IMHO.

I looked at your new picture[edit]

at Cultural appropriation and the problem that I have with it, or what I will be looking for in a new picture, is an example of an appropriated something. You have presented an picture of something before it was taken. I believe that we need a shot of something after it was taken, Does this make sense? For example, a hippie dressed in the outfit that you've shown would do nicely. There is in my mind a fine line between appropriation and, say, cultural osmosis. Hi. Thanks for the explanation. You are very kind.
Now, as I understand, the citation style cleanup message is not for these cases. It is for significant cases like when there is a mixture of footnoting (most popular) footnote + bibliography, inline note and external linking. The fine-grained degree of style consistency that you want is a requirement for WP:FA articles only. Yes, it is great to have it, but does not merit a template message.
As for the pen source, Softpedia was okay (as I am told when I took MSE article for FA) but the forum link was not.

Edit warring or 3RR?[edit]

Both of us engaged in edit warring, and not three revert rule. I'm already mentioned to you about ref#23 which UEFA already published a news that Fox Sports won the rights to shown the competition, this including its own dedicated channels. Fox Soccer, FSN and FX are just part of it. Also, only one free to air final is not really worth to list, a similar case to French viewers too. I thought perhaps you would like to know: There is no consensus about putting the licensing section on the top. In fact, I and another guest user separately tried to bring the development section to the top. (So, you edit has my support.) I have lodged a compliant in both Talk:Microsoft Office 2013 and Wikipedia:Dispute resolution noticeboard/Archive 64#Microsoft Office 2013. No one has so far made a counter-argument either.

Forum post as reference[edit]

Since the forum post I referenced on XDA (On the Windows RT thread) is by myself, and since I wrote the jailbreak tool that is being discussed, wouldn't that classify me as an 'established expert' in the field of jailbreaks on Windows RT, per the SPS page you linked me to? You'll also find numerous articles referencing me about the jailbreak (A simple google search for 'windows rt jailbreak netham45' will return 63,000+ results, I only checked the first 15 pages or so, but they seem to be relevant.) "Jaibreak" and "exploit"?[edit]

Hello Viper

"Jailbreak" is good term. I have no problem with it. But "Jailbreak exploit", at least to me means that an attempt to exploit the jailbreaking instead of using an exploit to perform jailbreaking. So, I'd say "Unsigned code exploit" is correct, "jailbreak" is correct but "jailbreak exploit" is not.
