Getting the most from the TeaHouse
Hi, DangerousJXD. It is great to see you making good use of the Teahouse, and I have a suggestion for how to get the most from it. At the moment, your questions are being appended at the bottom of the page, where many people may not get to see them. You might get better responses from more people if you use the big blue "Ask a Question" button (at the top of the Teahouse page), which places your question at the top and it also does some magic that will notify you when there is an answer. --Gronk Oz (talk) 07:54, 1 September 2014 (UTC)

Editing others' comments
Hi DangerousJXD,
I saw you made this edit to another person's comment at the Teahouse. It's perfectly fine to edit typos, etc. made by other editors that you find in Wikipedia articles; In fact, it's something that's really encouraged. Editing the talk page comments, etc. of other editors, however, is another story altogether. This is generally something you should never do on Wikipedia no matter how good your intentions are. Some people get really upset when their comments are edited by others, even if it was just a small change such as correcting a typo. Like any rule, however, there are exceptions and these are explained in more detail in WP:TPO, but other than those exceptions, you would be best to just leave things as they are and let the person who made the mistake fix it themselves. You can, of course, point out the mistake by leaving them a message on their talk page, but you need to be very tactful as to how you go about doing so. Simple typos, etc, you find in the comments of others are just best ignored unless they are going potentially cause serious problems for other editors.

- In general, a good place to start is by reading through Wikipedia's talk page guidelines. More specifically, I would suggest brushing up on indentation. You didn't indent your post above when you should have done so; You should have began your post with a ":". For your information, I've indented my reply twice to make room for your post if you should choose to fix the indentation yourself. I can fix it for you if you want, but the best way to learn is to try and do it yourself.
- In addition, take a look at "New topics and headings on talk pages". You added the talkback template to the top of my talk page when it should've been added to the bottom. The Teahouse is a special page in that new posts are added to the top of the page; For article talk pages, user talk pages, etc., however, new posts should always be added to the bottom of the page. You can do this manually by clicking "edit" and adding your post to the very bottom or have the system do it for you by clicking "new section" at the very top of the page. If you take another look at my talk page, you'll see that I have moved your post to the bottom.
- Finally, there's really no need to place your signature on a separate line. There's no rule against doing this, but it can create problems with the indentation. The system will automatically indent your signature if you just add the ~~~~ to the end of your post. However, just like when adding a new paragraph. you will have to manually fix the indentation yourself if you add your signature to a separate line. This difference may be hard to visualize, so practice in your sandbox until you can see the difference. - Marchjuly (talk) 06:11, 3 September 2014 (UTC)

- I am afraid I can not add templates at the bottom because I am using a phone and it won't let me. (I don't have a computer of any kind. LOLZ I know.)

I've seen you around, and I decided that it's time that I go ahead and ask: What other Wikipedia account(s) have you edited under? From my view (a very experienced view when it comes to spotting seasoned Wikipedia editors, no matter how inexperienced they portray themselves), you clearly are not new to editing Wikipedia. So I'm asking you straight up if your case is an "I used to edit as only an IP address before this," an "I am a WP:Sockpuppet," or an "I'm employing WP:Clean start" matter. No need to reply on my talk page about this either; I currently have your user page/talk page on my WP:Watchlist. So replying here on your talk page is fine and what is best. - Hello Flyer22! I'm a little flattered! You probably won't believe this, (since you put this here in the first place) I have never edited Wikipedia before now. I have used Wikipedia for a long time but I only signed up recently as DangerousJXD. I don't even know what a sock puppet or clean start is. If an IP address is those numbers some people have as names, I know what they are but I have not used one. (I don't know why or how you would.) If your saying you are suspicious cause I'm uber good at editing (LOLZ), and you think I can't be that good without experience, all I can say to that is, I guess I have picked up things fast by asking questions at the Teahouse and seeing how to do things in edit mode. Hey DangerousJ. I've been watching some interactions you've been having lately, and I want to offer my opinion on a few things:
- People making multiple accounts on Wikipedia for disruptive reasons is a common enough occurrence that people note similarities in behavior, which is one factor that goes into identifying such individuals. Flyer22 noted some of them in your behavior, and I trust her judgment. I know it probably feels like you are being targeted, but if you continue to edit productively, this isn't likely to become a problem.
- This was inappropriate, and I know that you feel otherwise because it was intended as a joke, but that's how I saw it. Joke or not, I don't think it's a great idea to make jokes when your behavior is under scrutiny. That said, arguing with others about the nature of your response is not a good use of your time, so it's probably best to move on be careful about your responses in the future.
- People get notifications when they receive a message on their talk page, so the use of talkback templates, or letting people know you've left a message for them is not really necessary. People also tend to watch talk pages where they leave messages, so you don't need to let them know you've responded to something on your own talk page.
So in short, don't escalate this situation further and keep on making positive contributions like you have been. Thanks, I, JethroBT drop me a line 23:49, 10 September 2014 (UTC)

I guess a lot of people must have noticed the recent exchange on the Teahouse, because when I check the list of most-visited User pages (here), you show up about half-way down. That's not especially good or bad, it just shows that your situation has caught lots of people's attention.

Picture placement
You're on a roll with adding pictures to NBA articles! A slight improvement you can make on images you add, and on existing ones in articles, would be to strategically place some on the left side. Refimprove tag
I saw that your removed {{refimprove}} from Space Jam. Your rationale that "There are no 'citation needed' templates so I removed ..." is problematic. A general template at the top of the page does not require inline templates in prose. It's generally used when there are too many issue to tag line by line. On the other hand, you could be arguing that the article was sufficiently sourced, and an inline tag is more appropriate than a general tag. Pictures
Hey. I know you love adding pictures to articles, and its great, you are doing a great job. In saying that, its not imperative to add every single picture commons has to a respective article. If you look at this version of Tiago Splitter, the pictures overcrowd the sections and text, and is pushed into the stats sections which is not necessary. Just consider the lay out – preview the changes first, and if the pictures seem too much, then don't add them. Pictures aren't a necessity – people don't come to Wikipedia to look at pictures, that's what Google Images is for! Anyway, keep up the good work, just giving you a heads up. Cheers. DangerousJXD Thank you for patrolling the user page I made! I'm doing this thing where I go to the teahouse, and look for users that don't have usernames. I make one for them, and leave a note on their tallk page on how to improve their page. It was super hard for me to get started on Wikipedia, and I'm still not really there yet,so I help other people get started like people helped me. By the way, your user page is pretty hilarious! ( I use a kindle so I know what you mean by the different modes, I normally use mobile, and one time I accidentally clicked on the desktop, and I didn't realize I had, I just knew that my Wikipedia was all messed up, and it took me three days to fix it.) Hi, regarding this edit, the Manual of Style (WP:FNNR) covers why "Notes" (or "Footnotes") is preferred over "Sources". As the primary editor of the article, may I ask that you revert your change back to "Notes"? I was going to be bold and do it myself but thought it'd be nicer to ask. I had to revert your edits on how you described the scores. We've already had a massive discussion on what to call the scores, and under the guidelines that I was told, at least, they're not average. 4-6 is average. This game's "average" is about 7 or so.
