- Delete It's gone nearly a decade without anything being added or sourced. I would consider a redirect to Finders Keepers but the page doesn't mention him barely at all. An outside search gives little to nothing in terms of significant coverage. Willsome429 (say hey or see my edits!) 22:35, 20 June 2019 (UTC)
- Redirect to Finders Keepers (American game show) where the subject is mentioned. 1,635 page views in the last month is enough to suggest some people are looking for info on him. -- Ed (Edgar181) 18:42, 22 June 2019 (UTC)

This artist appears not to have received sufficient independent and in-depth coverage to pass WP:NARTIST. The most in-depth thing here is a blog interview [1], to which I would assign little weight. The rest is passing mentions or material that is published by himself or associates/associated bodies. - BTW, what does appear notable on its own strength (but does not yet have an article) is The Invisible War: A Tale on Two Scales, which he illustrated. --Elmidae (talk · contribs) 20:21, 28 May 2019 (UTC) Elmidae (talk · contribs) 20:21, 28 May 2019 (UTC)

- Comment he has certainly done things and published/illustrated books. I can't find any evidence that this work as the subject of enough independent, in depth secondary coverage that would meet GNG. I found this, which is a passing mention. It is all about The Invisible War, which indeed seems notalbe. ThatMontrealIP (talk) 22:50, 28 May 2019 (UTC)
- Thanks, have added further sources of coverage/citations which hopefully illustrate notability within the Australian arts/literary community. Boofhead78 (talk) 10:41, 29 May 2019 (UTC)

- Delete Fails WP:NARTIST because he lacks sustained WP:SIGCOV of his life or works and it's not clear that he has had major roles in multiple substantial projects. The limited coverage around him and The Invisible War is just not enough to get him over this bar. Newshunter12 (talk) 06:34, 19 June 2019 (UTC)

- Weak keep on the basis that sources like this do exist and there are probably more hidden behind web.archive and the like. I'm rather persuaded by a lot of the keep arguments in the previous afd while also having to acknowledge that I can't find anything beyond what the original author linked in that first afd. Nole (chat·edits) 00:55, 25 June 2019 (UTC)
- Delete Fails WP:GNG due to a complete lack of sustained WP:SIGCOV. I found no new sources on this topic in a WP:BEFORE search I did and we do not keep articles based on vague beliefs that better sources might exist and be found one day. That is pure WP:CRYSTALBALL. - Keep. I think we have to be realistic about applying the notability criteria here. Hardly any films at all were made in Mozambique in this period, so we might presume this one notable for that reason alone. It's likely that the film attracted independent coverage in the national press at the time -- but these sources are unlikely to have been digitised and made available to general Internet searches. At the moment, this entry is the fullest summary of the film available on the Net, and valuable for that reason. It's a stub, but hopefully someone with access to the archives can one day improve it. Alarichall (talk) 18:02, 17 June 2019 (UTC)

- Delete Fails WP:GNG and WP:NFILM due to lacking sustained WP:SIGCOV. That independent WP:SIGCOV might exist elsewhere and be located at some distant point is pure WP:CRYSTALBALL and should not be used as justification to keep this article. We are evaluating this article on its merits today and it clearly fails notability standards today. It can be recreated at a later point if WP:SIGCOV sources are located and can be added to a new article. Newshunter12 (talk) 09:02, 25 June 2019 (UTC)

- Delete In response to anon IP. You have mentioned at your first point above that the company has been the subject of significant coverage in multiple reliable secondary sources that are independent of the subject but you failed to point to a single reference to support your assertion. Your 4th reason states that it has won many international awards and honours but you fail to provide a single example. None of the other reasons you provided have been supported by any references either. An examination of the references in the article shows the following:
- This bdnews reference is a mention-in-passing as the founder won an award, fails WP:CORPDEPTH.
- This Daily Star reference only mentions the company as in the company's CEO attended an event. Fails WP:CORPDEPTH.
- This Sharebiz reference is based on a company announcment (attending and sponsoring a Joomla conference) and fails WP:ORGIND
- This Jagonews reference is a mention-in-passing (name used in the title of the CEO) and fails WP:CORPDEPTH
- This Channel Online reference fails for the same reasons as the Sharebiz reference above (pretty much the same content too)
- This Prothom Alo reference fails as it is churnalism, relies exclusively on information provided by the company with not clear indications of independent content, fails WP:ORGIND. This reference is the exact same content and fails for the same reason.
- This Priyo reference fails as it is based on a company announcement and also has no in-depth information on the company. Fails WP:CORPDEPTH.
- This howiwork reference is an interview with the founder and fails WP:ORGIND
- This Tech Shohor reference is classic churnalism (mostly a profile on the founder) and fails WP:ORGIND
- This Manobkantha reference is marked as a "permanent dead link"
- This Banglatech reference is based on a company announcement (attending and sponsoring a Joomla conference) and fails WP:ORGIND
- This bhorerkagoj reference is based on a company announcement (attending and sponsoring a Joomla conference) and fails WP:ORGIND
- This Samakal reference is a mention-in-passing and fails WP:CORPDEPTH
- This ittefaq reference is based on a company announcement (attending and sponsoring a Joomla conference) and fails WP:ORGIND
- This Joomla Day reference is paid promotion from the company as a sponsor. Fails WP:ORGIND
- This Joomla reference is marked as a "permanent dead link"
- So not a single reference meets the criteria for establishing notability. Most are based on company marketing. Wikipedia is not a Yellow Pages nor a platform for promotion. Topic fails GNG and WP:NCORP. HighKing++ 17:17, 30 June 2019 (UTC)

Reads like blatant advertising. Of its 3 sources, 2 are not independent reliable sources (ascap.com and prnewswire.com) and 1 is a book which I do not have access to. Contains inline external links to sources that do not satisfy WP:CORPDEPTH: a general listings page (alexa.com), an interview on Facebook, a patent, and to the subject itself. Searching the web, I cannot find independent reliable sources; I can find perfunctory business bios / listings and regular business announcements (they do not satisfy WP:NCORP either).

- Keep, while the article on enWiki is threadbare, the Farsi-language article linked to it has several sources that appear to discuss the subject in detail. Machine translations are very poor, however, so I'll defer to editors who can actually read the sources if they disagree. signed, Rosguill talk 21:53, 3 June 2019 (UTC)

- Pirhayati, would you care to elaborate? Viztor (talk) 08:34, 18 June 2019 (UTC)
- First, the references say it is a successful model in bookselling in Iran, for example this and this. This is important because there is an economic crisis in book market in Iran and bookstores are getting closed one after another. Second, this bookstore simply has "independent reliable references with significant coverage" then it is notable according to GNG.Ali Pirhayati (talk) 08:42, 18 June 2019 (UTC)

- The King of Pirates (edit | talk | history | protect | delete | links | watch | logs | views) – (View AfD · Stats)
- (Find sources: Google (books · news · scholar · free images · WP refs) · FENS · JSTOR · TWL)
I recommend MERGE into Henry Avery article. Subject is not notable on its own. Article has numerous contradictory issues that make it not notable, starting with the language that it's an "obscure fictional book". Nomopbs (talk) 21:58, 10 June 2019 (UTC)
Further explanation: I recommend MERGE this article into the Henry Avery article.
- The first sentence in this article ("The King of Pirates is a fictional adventure by Daniel Defoe") contradicts the Daniel Defoe article under the heading "Some contested works attributed to Defoe" which notes "The King of Pirates - purporting to be an account of the pirate Henry Avery."
- "Obscure fictional book" contradicts your idea of "notable", Deanyewest. See WP:N. Also, adding 10 more citations doesn't change the article or its notability. See WP:OVERCITE.
- "... thought to be an autobiography of Henry Avery ..." — If it's an autobiography, then it wasn't written by Daniel Defoe.
- "... thought to be a ... biography of Henry Avery many historians view the book as an embellished and highly romanized version of his life." — Tells me that even the historians can't agree on (a) who wrote it, and (b) who it is about.
- The book is already mentioned on the Daniel Defoe article biography, and is mentioned several times in the Henry Avery article. The book itself isn't notable if it's "obscure".
I recommend MERGE this article into the Henry Avery article. Nomopbs (talk) 22:05, 10 June 2019 (UTC)

- Procedural Close - WP:AfD should not be used if you want to merge the article as nom. Even if you think it fails notability, conventional merging should be the first port of call. For a nicer phrasing than me, take a look at WP:IGNORINGATD. Close the AfD, start a merge discussion. Nosebagbear (talk) 11:26, 18 June 2019 (UTC)

Roundabout way of attempting to publicize the non-notable Charlene Li & Josh Bernoff, and their P.O.S.T Framework concept Orange Mike | Talk 01:47, 3 June 2019 (UTC)
- Merge to Groundswell (book). The concept is cited by others, but not much. Two line mention with citation in reliable source here. Another one, seemingly more in-depth, here. Overall, rather borderline for notability. Next to nothing on regular google. I couldn't find a single review on Google Scholar for "Groundswell. Winning in a World Transformed by Social Technologies" BUT the book has 5 reviews in Lib Genesis ([2]) which I recently found to be a much better search engine for book reviews :) Which lead me to conclude the book is notable, and then I noticed we already have Groundswell (book). So how about merging this concept, of unclear standalone notability, there? --Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| reply here 04:21, 3 June 2019 (UTC)

- Comment The first three pages of Ghits are YouTube videos which doesn't mean much but it shows that they don't perform in English but in some other language which we can guess is Swahili since they're from Uganda. It would be important to evaluate if they have coverage in Swahili-language publications. They do have a bit of coverage in local English-language media (and of course, if they perform in Uganda in Swahili, that's all we'll get) as shown in the sources provided in the article and others such as this and this. All in all, I guess I'm a Weak keep for now. Pichpich (talk) 23:11, 4 June 2019 (UTC)

- Delete Fails WP:GNG due to lacking sustained WP:SIGCOV. Also falls under WP:TOOSOON. Based on the available sources, this duo is not notable, but may become notable in the future. That sources may exist elsewhere in a different language and could be found at some vague future point is not a reason to keep this article now, as that is pure WP:CRYSTALBALL. The article fails on the merits now, which is the only thing that matters. Newshunter12 (talk) 08:05, 25 June 2019 (UTC)

WP:BLP of a person notable primarily as a not yet elected candidate in a forthcoming election and mayor of a small town. As always, people do not get Wikipedia articles just for being federal election candidates: to pass NPOL #1, he would have to win the election and thereby serve as an MP, not just be a name on the ballot. And smalltown mayors don't automatically pass NPOL #2, either: to be considered notable for being mayor, either Essa would have to be much larger than just 21K, or Dowdall would have to show a depth and range and volume of coverage that marked him out as much more special than most other mayors of places this size.
But two of the five footnotes here are primary sources that do not constitute support for notability at all; two more are the routinely expected coverage in a community hyperlocal, which are not notability-clinching sources for a smalltown mayor or a non-winning MP candidate all by themselves, because every smalltown mayor and every non-winning MP candidate can always show a hit or two in their local media; and the last looks stronger on the surface if you only eyeball its URL, but is not actually about him for the purposes of establishing his notability: it just quotes him giving soundbite about a public emergency in an article whose subject is the emergency and not him. As always, getting a person into Wikipedia is not just a matter of showing that his name has appeared in the media two or more times: we also evaluate (a) the depth of how substantively a source is or isn't about him; (b) the geographic range of how widely the coverage is spreading, and (c) the context of what he's getting coverage for -- but none of this is enough.
No prejudice against recreation on or after October 20 if he wins the federal election, but nothing here (either in the sourcing or the substance) constitutes a reason why he would be entitled to have a campaign brochure on Wikipedia today. Bearcat (talk) 15:34, 11 June 2019 (UTC)

WP:BLP1E of a person notable only for a two-day blip of press coverage when he was forced out of a political candidacy. As always, being a non-winning candidate for political office is not an WP:NPOL pass: if he didn't win the seat and thereby serve as an MP, then he qualifies for an article only if either (a) he was already notable enough for other reasons that he would have qualified for an article on those preexisting grounds anyway, or (b) he can be referenced to such an exceptional depth of coverage that his candidacy could be credibly claimed as special (the Christine O'Donnell pass). Receiving a two-day blip of coverage in the moment, and then fading back into obscurity, just makes this a BLP1E of an obscure low-profile figure rather than an encyclopedic biography of a person who has sustained any enduring public interest that would satisfy the ten-year test.
