Revision as of 18:27, 4 March 2021

This is the central log for all sanctions issued pursuant to an Arbitration Committee contentious topics remedy in 2021 as well as any appeals or modifications made to sanctions issued in 2021.

The required information is the user or page the sanction is being applied to, enforcing administrator, date, nature of sanction, including expiry date (if applicable), basis or context (such as link to AE request), and a diff of the user notification (if applicable).

2021

  • Per several participants at ARCA (permanent link), I am quoting the second half of my closing summary of the AE report (linked above): Though I am making it a point to acknowledge the especially high-quality work at the AP2 topic area on the part of both editors, and though this closure and log entry isn't intended to serve as a blemish on their respective records, I still strongly feel that the violation itself needs to be formally recorded (underline is my emphasis). Sorry to everyone, especially Mandruss and Objective3000, that it took me this long to figure out the utility of attaching this addendum. I hope it serves to quell any further tensions. If anyone has a suggestion about anything else I could say or do toward that end, please do not hesitate to let me know. El_C 19:31, 12 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • Also noting that, per Awilley's suggestion, I have updated my AE closing summary (permanent link) to clarify that this was a unilateral action on my part which did not represent consensus of views among the uninvolved admins who participated. Views, which I also note, were mixed. El_C 00:36, 13 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • Apparently, I'm forced to state this outright: users who do not yet enjoy the EC user right are prohibited from closing discussions on this page. El_C 09:41, 6 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • Noting for the log that I have NOTHERE blocked the user. While blatant topic ban violations were reported at AE, the nature of the provocations and fabrications were not even close to being nuanced enough to bother with any sort of AE action. El_C 15:44, 25 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • Note that due to new and disturbing information, I have also proposed to siteban NedFausa, a proposal which they themselves then expressed support of (!). Anyway, it appears almost certain to pass unanimously, so I guess that's that. El_C 20:55, 17 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • Noting for the sake of completion that the proposal to siteban NedFausa passed unanimously. An indefinite block for disruption was already in place before this (with everything disabled). I have since re-blocked so as to note the siteban in the block log. Though not an AE matter, I still thought it was worth recording here, at AEL, as well. El_C 04:04, 20 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • Noting that with Solavirum's indef tban (below), Armatura's one-way iban has effectively been rescinded, though I'll leave any of these formal details for Tony to attend to, if they so choose. El_C 22:54, 14 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • Just to clarify for the log, seeing as Astral Leap has appealed my block at AN: the block was not only for the 3RR violation itself (per se.), but also for the provocations contained in those same reverts (against Volunteer Marek). A point which I made perfectly clear to Astral Leap prior to them having filed their unblock request. El_C 17:13, 1 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • Note that I have disabled talk page access even while an appeal involving myself is ongoing (at AN). At this point, I think it's better if the user were to engage their appeal by having WP:UTRS serve as a filter, because they seem to be unwilling or unable to cease from the same disruption that saw the original block imposed. El_C 14:19, 2 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • Piotrus is topic banned for one month from anything having to do with WWII (including pre- and post-war) or anything having to do with Polish [clarify: modern] political history, as broadly construed as possible. El_C 15:20, 1 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • New AE requirement. It reads (in full): you are to always follow a revert with an article talk page comment explaining it in any and all WP:ARBHORN topic area pages or edits (whatsoever). El_C 18:26, 4 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • Mclarenfan17 (no edits since June) has been editing while logged out, in contravention of their interaction ban with Tvx1. As such, per Tvx1's AE complaint, the sanction is reaffirmed, directing admins to block any IPs belonging to Mclarenfan17 with immediate effect, at least until some form of communication is established. Added Feb 25: archive link to 7 Feb AE complaint and permanent link to Feb 12 one. As well, permanent link to discussion on my talk page with Mclarenfan17/IP, last comment Feb 24. El_C 09:17, 12 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Feb 18 developments collapsed. El_C 16:45, 25 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
:*{{Noting that an IP identifying as Mclarenfan17 did engage in some limited discussion on my talk page, but it has since fizzled out, with evasion continuing (on ranges that would result in too much collateral if blocked). As such, semiprotection seems like the way to go here, with an indefinite semi just applied by me to 2021 World Rally Championship, with other related pages likely to follow. {{Also noting that Mclarenfan17/IP keeps showing up on my talk page to post lengthy comments, as of yesterday on Feb 24 (permanent link), partially to violate their IBAN by speaking against their opponent, but also to make strange claims about how it would take them 6 weeks to get a registered account approved (is that even a thing?), which they feel isn't fair and so on. Meanwhile, they continue to edit the topic area via IP hopping on still too wide a range to block, as of Feb 23 (diffdiff), even though they know they shouldn't (I expressly told them so, repeatedly). So, not much confidence on that front (that we can end this whole whack-a-mole), unfortunately. Oh well. Sorry for the length of this! El_C 11:04, 25 February 2021 (UTC)}}|2=Feb 24 developments collapsed. El_C 16:45, 25 February 2021 (UTC)}}[reply]
  • El C, discretionary sanctions are not authorized for this case, so these protections should not be labeled as AE actions, but regular admin actions. The only thing that needs to be logged here is the block of Mclarenfan17 for violating the IBAN remedy. – bradv🍁 13:34, 25 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • In connection with the above, Wikieditor19920 is warned to dial it down considerably in their interactions with other editors in this topic area. El_C 21:25, 19 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • In connection with the above, and in conjunction with Awilley's warning above that (both involving the same page), Onceinawhile is given a final warning about that page, with a prohibition remaining a likely outcome (still). They are also cautioned that future misconduct may lead to them jeopardizing their participation in the topic area, overall. El_C 22:56, 19 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
