RE: Resent edits to List of Take-Two Interactive video games

The iFruit app is a companion app for GTA V, this app allow you to connect to your game on GTA V and allows you customize you cars, characters etc, through this app on iOS. You also need GTA V and a RSSC account to run this app meaning it's not a standalone game, it might have a little game elements but is no means a game. Information icon Hello, I'm 2Awwsome. I noticed that you recently removed some content from List of circulating currencies without explaining why. In the future, it would be helpful to others if you described your changes to Wikipedia with an edit summary. If this was a mistake, don't worry: I restored the removed content. If you would like to experiment, you can use the sandbox. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thanks! 2AwwsomeTell me where I screwed up. See where I screwed up 19:15, 16 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hello! There is a DR/N request you may have interest in.

This message is being sent to let you know of a discussion at the Wikipedia:Dispute resolution noticeboard regarding a content dispute discussion you may have participated in. Content disputes can hold up article development and make editing difficult for editors. You are not required to participate, but you are both invited and encouraged to help find a resolution. The thread is "Highest-valued currency unit". Please join us to help form a consensus. Thank you! EarwigBot operator / talk 18:20, 24 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Howdy there, could I ask for your assistance?

I am nervous about user Ruby Murray and an article I follow and occasionally update. The article is the Anthony holland composer biography. Living. Ruby Murray is edit warring with me and when I check his user page I see that he has a habit of it...and he or she also seems as though they often get other users in trouble. I don't know if I should request for comment or ask for a third opinion or what. I know I'd like a little help with our dispute and it is the integrity of the article that should take precedent.

I don't want to get into trouble...I am already sick and tired of rubes passive aggressive threats..I would like to resolve our conflict but I am not sure how to do it... So think you can help the holland article and maybe help me stay out of trouble. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 98.200.208.230 (talk) 14:36, 28 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Re:Edits to "My Chemical Romance discography"

Hello Zntrip, it's alright about the revert. You're right on both aspects, I was busy trying unify it and hadn't noticed the redundancy until you pointed it out. The tables look better now with the set width.

P.S. Love the MCR taskforce's work on Black Parade, great article (and album). Best, yeepsi (Talk tonight) 21:43, 1 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Message to Zntrip

Hi, you seem to be a major contributor to the SCLC scene and I don't really know who else to go to so I figured I might as well come here! I want to create a separate page for the trial of Charles Taylor in the SCLC and I was wondering if that would be kosher with you. If not I could also lengthen his section on the SCLC page, but I'm rather new to the Wikipedia scene and I'm looking to help! Thanks for any help. pettyn (talk) 6:40, 7 January 2014 (UTC)

Re: New Page for Charles Taylor

Thanks so much for the quick response and the welcome! I would absolutely love help on this project, even if it's just adding some formatting edits here and there or adding more substantial content. I am going to be finding more sources over the next few weeks and would really like to start up a new page. If I end up falling flat on my further research I will add the content I do find towards the current article on the SCLC page. Thanks again for the quick reply! pettyn (talk) 6:47, 7 January 2014 (UTC)

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Asylum Entertainment, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page A&E (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, DPL bot (talk) 09:37, 12 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Lego: The Hobbit

Hey Zntrip. In my edit summary here I didn't really have room to explain the issue sufficiently. The issue is that while the article is currently poorly titled, it would appear that the move request to the Lego The Hobbit (video game) would also result in a bad title. We never use parenthetical disambiguators like "(video game)" unless there is an existing article at a confusingly similar title title that we need to disambiguate the title from. See WP:PRECISION and WP:DAB. Likely the article should be moved to just Lego: The Hobbit, or maybe Lego The Hobbit or possibly something else, but there there does not appear to be any disambiguation purpose for "(video game)". Best regards--Fuhghettaboutit (talk) 00:37, 25 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Main Page appearance

Hello! This is a note to let know the main editors of the article List of circulating currencies that it will be appearing as the main page featured list on March 28, 2014. You can view the TFL blurb at Wikipedia:Today's featured list/March 28, 2014. If you think it is necessary to change the main date, you can request it with the featured list directors Giants2008 (talk · contribs), Crisco 1492 (talk · contribs) or SchroCat (talk · contribs), or at Wikipedia talk:Today's featured list. If the previous blurb needs tweaking, you might change it—following the instructions of the suggested formatting. If this article needs any attention or maintenance, it would be preferable if that could be done before its appearance on the Main Page so Wikipedia doesn't look bad. In this article you changed the format. It looks great BTW. The reason I'm here however is that you removed entries related to the Eritrean–Ethiopian War. Just two entries that is. However as you did it while reformating there is no apparent reason for the removal and I saw nothing on the talk page. I'm curious about the reason you choose to remove them.Serialjoepsycho (talk) 07:47, 5 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I agree with your position. I actually added one of those to balance the other. I just though would of course be necessary to have a record for the reason of removal.Serialjoepsycho (talk) 00:59, 6 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Nirvana songs

Hi, I noticed your work on List of songs recorded by Nirvana and just wanted to point out that there are still loads from In Utero deluxe/super deluxe that are missing from the article. Such as from disc one the bonus tracks: Sappy, Moist Vagina, IHMAWTD etc.. not to mention the demo recordings off disc two. QuintusPetillius (talk) 19:31, 6 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]

ICC Article

Thank you for your recent note on the talk page of the ICC article, and most especially for your expansion of the article in the jurisdiction section. As you will see when you have time to read the discussion through that my talk page note engendered, my concern is that the article currently does not adequately reflect the controversy regarding the Rome Statute, particularly regarding Article 12 which asserts that the ICC has jurisdiction over alleged crimes committed within the territory of a nation which is a party to the statute even if the alleged offending party or parties are from nations that are not parties to the statute.

From my research, it appears as if the Untied States rejects the validity of this assertion as an unilateral power grab not acceded to by our government, and perhaps other nations (I don’t know) make the same argument. What follows are two articles. One is a thorough review of the issue from a U. S. legal standpoint while the second is the official rejection of the ICC’s jurisdiction over U. S. citizens rendered in 2002 under the administration of President Bush the younger. I am uncertain if anything substantive has changed under the Obama Administration.

http://scholarlycommons.law.case.edu/cgi/viewcontent.cgi?article=1256&context=faculty_publications

http://2001-2009.state.gov/p/us/rm/9949.htm

I realize that it is presumptions of me to ask you to address this issue. However, as you are a senior editor and administrator and one well-versed in the issue of international law and such considerations, coupled with the fact that I have experienced vision problems of late, compels me to at least ask you for your kind assistance in this matter.

Please understand that I am not suggesting that the requested addition be anything other than objective. I simply would like it pointed out that there is such controversy concerning the legitimacy of this tribunal in certain situations and the possible resulting conflict such might engender.

Thank you once again and best wishes.HistoryBuff14 (talk) 13:52, 29 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you very much for your courteous reply. It’s most appreciated.
As I said, I’m having vision problems right now while recovering from cataract surgery. I see all right, but my eyes tire easily which is why I just skimmed the article I presented to you for your consideration. However, I was aware what the author’s conclusion was. I also noted that it was thorough and presented arguments on both side of this question.
If you have the time to add the position of the United States under your suggested criticism section, that would be most appreciated as well.
Thank you for your time and consideration.

Dear fellow Wikipedian,

The LA Wikipedia community has three events in mid-February -- please consider attending!

First, we have a Valentine's Day edit-a-thon appropriately named Redondo Loves Wikipedia, which will take place at the Redondo Beach Public Library from 10am to 1pm on Saturday, February 14. Join library staff, the Redondo Beach Historical Society, and others to help improve Wikipedia's coverage of Redondo Beach!

Third, we have an Unforgetting LA event put on by East of Borneo in collaboration with the Getty Research Institute. Come help improve Wikipedia's coverage of LA design and architecture, and have an awesome free day at the museum -- parking will be validated for edit-a-thon participants! If you'd like to use particular books from GRI's great collection, be sure to email before 2/13 (instructions at event page).

And be sure to check out our main meetup page, because we already have three SoCal events scheduled for early March!

ICC map (2)

Hello Zntrip, thanks for updating the map "File:ICC member states world map.png" to include El Salvador. But I wonder: why have you made it light green rather than dark green? Apparently, now that this country has deposited the instrument of accession to the Rome Statute, it has become a state party to the International Criminal Court immediately. As you can see here on the ICC's website, the ICC has included El Salvador in the number of states parties, which number it lists as 124 now.

By the way, could you tell me how such a map can be updated? Best regards, Paul K. (talk) 00:36, 6 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Environmental Crimes

Hi, any suggestion as to where one puts the paragraph for environmental crimes in ICC article? Looks like it is a pretty notable development and deserves a note.Sattar91 (talk) 08:16, 21 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]

@Sattar91: I'm not so sure that this is indeed a notable development. The Policy Paper on Case Selection and Prioritisation mentions that both the "manner of commission of the crimes" and "impact of the crimes" will be assessed when selecting cases, and "destruction of the environment" is one factor is both of those considerations. – Zntrip 17:29, 21 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for the feedback. I am going to explain the importance of the case a bit more, so that we may agree on forward-editing of the article. To start, the publication of this Policy Paper is a big news per se and many have been impatiently awaiting that after all the discussions and efforts to make the vague language of environmental protection slightly clearer in the same document back in November 2013.
Ever since the climate change issues have become visible, lots of campaigning have been going on requesting the Prosecutor to mention environmental crimes in the Policy Paper and consequently follow up such cases that are considered major threads in peace time. The efforts turned to be meaningfully oriented and heated after the 2015 Paris Conference. When the draft of the Policy Paper was published in last February, some were partly disappointed as to have little direct mentions of environmental crimes in the document. In article #40 it could read as: "The impact of the crimes may be assessed in light of, inter alia, the suffering endured by the victims and their increased vulnerability, the terror subsequently instilled, or the social, economic and environmental damage inflicted on the affected communities". It was a good development comparing to the trivial mention of environment in the 2013 document, but still not good enough. The pressure was kept high then and lobbying/campaigning were going on; and the result was that the article #41 in the final Policy Paper (the one you referred to) now reads as: "The impact of the crimes may be assessed in light of, inter alia, the increased vulnerability of victims, the terror subsequently instilled, or the social, economic and environmental damage inflicted on the affected communities. In this context, the Office will give particular consideration to prosecuting Rome Statute crimes that are committed by means of, or that result in, inter alia, the destruction of the environment, the illegal exploitation of natural resources or the illegal dispossession of land". So as you observe, there is an obvious shift towards the environmental crimes when looking at the trend of the policies between November 2013 and September 2016.
I hope the explanation sounds convincing to you that this was actually a notable movement, a major shift (Reuters), a change of focus (Guardian), a move with significant effects (Washington Post) and a powerful environmental message (Independent). If you agree, let's find a proper place in the article to add this up. Thanks- Sattar91 (talk) 08:34, 22 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]
@Sattar91: I think it's important to understand the role played by a policy paper and to not give a subject undue weight. A policy paper does not give the Court jurisdiction over a new category of crimes, it only promises that the Prosecutor will consider environmental destruction and land grabbing when selecting cases. It is actually quite similar to how the Prosecutor already considers sexual and gender-based violence. The media coverage of this announcement seems to be due solely by the publicity efforts of Global Diligence LLP and Global Witness, which have an interest in advocating for alleged victims of land grabbing and therefore some media outlets appears to be greatly exaggerating the effect of the policy paper. Note that The Washington Post states that "the ICC's shift seemed to be more subtle" and quotes Alex Whiting, a well known international law professor, who states: "They aren't changing the definitions of crimes or expanding the law or creating new crimes or anything like that. . . . They are paying particular attention to crimes that are committed by use of environmental impact or have consequences of environmental impact." That said, I think this information should be included in the article, but it must properly placed, well explained, and given proper weight. – Zntrip 18:11, 22 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]
I do agree that it is not a change in jurisdiction or a new definition of crimes, but rather an expansion of the coverage and a special focus. I also agree that the text should have the proper intonation not to be exaggerating on what's going to happen from now on. Should we include a brief paragraph at the end of International_Criminal_Court#Jurisdiction_and_admissibility entitled "Focus on environmental crimes"?Sattar91 (talk) 08:16, 23 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]
@Sattar91: After looking at the article, I believe the best place to mention this would be under the "Office of the Prosecutor" section. – Zntrip 20:27, 23 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks, it is partly done now. Can you have a look and feedback?--Sattar91 (talk) 09:10, 11 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]
@Sattar91: The addition looks very nice! The only thing missing is a mention of environmental crimes, of course, from the latest policy paper. – Zntrip 22:36, 11 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]

ICC and Complementarity:

Hello Zntrip! Admittedly I am not a regular edtior but I have noticed that the wiki page on the International Criminal Court could be greatly improved expecially as far as the principles of complementarity and gravity are concerned. For the gravity issue there are a couple of recent Oxford University articles I was thinking of putting itno the page. As far as complementarity is concerned, I removed the author's name as initially suggested by you but left all the relevant information which also linked to TWO other wiki pages and leading authorities on this field (e.g. William Schabas); two external links to the authorities scientific work were also included.

So I don't see why the old Wiki version you are suggesting is any way better in comparison to the new version, since:

(1) the old version is extremely short for such a critical issue of international justice (2) essentially, the old version does not contain any significant information other that what is written in the ICC constitution. (3)the new version on complementarity offers much more substantial information and updates properly the Wiki page regarding extremely recent theoretical and practical developments with links to other wiki pages and external links for scientific articles.

In any case, I believe that we could at least agree that the Old version needs improvement and if you wish you could write about it.

I thought it would be BEST if I discussed these issues with you first before updating the ICC Gravity Section as well, following a copule of recent Oxford Univeristy articles and after taking also into account that there currently exist only two lines for this crucial criterion too!

P.S. Another suggestion could be to move this section to the Criticism Chapter!  :-)
