Millennium Park articles

Hi Tony, I would be more interested in Pritzker Pavilion as it has many similarities to BP Bridge. I am pretty busy in real life and here right now, so I will do my best to help with it, but don't want to commit myself 100% right now. Ruhrfisch ><>°° 14:34, 1 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

"This is an assembly of notable stores and it seems to fit in with the other centers at {{Chicagomalls}}." So basically you're arguing inherited notability (which is a crock) and WP:OSE. Crown Fountain

Congratulations, Tony, on Crown Fountain making FA status!

I need to tell you, I have been going through some difficult real-world stuff (which will continue for some time) and simply cannot get online to edit. But I occasionally will check my watchlist on my cell phone while commuting. (It's horribly slow, but when you've got 90 minutes with nothing to do, what the heck?) Anyway, on my way home tonight I looked at the Signpost and saw that you got Crown Fountain to FA status. I know that this is probably no big deal for you, since you have done this more than anyone else, but it's the first time I've been cognizant of an article going through the process, so I decided to get online and congratulate you. Good job! Unschool 02:11, 2 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hey, Tony, I just pulled up some diffs, and I've got a question for you. I won't be hurt if you laugh at my silliness or are offended by my nerve. Anyway, when I look at the alterations I made in the lead, they appear from the diff to be significant; when I compare the lead as I left it to the lead that made it as an FA[1], there's no significant difference (other than a rewritten caption on a picture), meaning that the lead remained in the form I left it. This is my question: That's not enough for me to lay claim to be a person who helped this article make it to FA, is it? Assuming it is not, what kind of help qualifies one to lay claim to having helped an article to FA? Getting sources? What else? Thanks, you know how ignorant I am about all this. IL state parks

I'm hoping to watch races at Rockford Speedway this Sunday. Depending on the time, I may visit Rock Cut State Park for some pictures - it's less than 1 mile away from the track. Is there an admission charge for Illinois state parks, especially for someone from out of state like me? Please respond here on your talk page. Royalbroil 03:35, 2 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Illinois Beach State Park had no admission as of three years ago. I do not know about other state parks and about current policies.--TonyTheTiger (t/c/bio/WP:CHICAGO/WP:LOTM) 03:38, 2 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks, that's what I thought. I had been to Illinois Beach State Park in the early 2000s with my brother and I don't remember an admission charge. I didn't see mention of an admission charge on the IL DNR website. Royalbroil 03:47, 2 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

You should look at the discussion, and you might want to withdraw the highway and nominate Fountain of Time in its place. I'm not sure of the points, or how others view this. My motivation is that I don't want a war article for Remembrance Day.

BTW, I couldn't find a free pix of Cecil Fielder or Mark Fidrych, so Al Kaline will have to do. Smallbones (talk) 15:50, 2 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

You are welcome to check how many hits your article got while on the front page (here's how) and add it to DYKSTATS if it got over 5,000. Barry Bonds?

I noticed you had done a lot of work on the Barry Bonds article last year. Are you still working on it, or taking a break? I don't want to finish the work on helping get it ready for GA status without contacting the other editors. --DizFreak talk Contributions 07:51, 5 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the offer on Bonds. Once I get some of the horrible stuff corrected, I will let you know and at that time would really appreciate your help. --DizFreak talk Contributions 06:11, 6 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Feel free to help with Bonds. I won't complain! I was under the impression that you weren't interested. I always prefer to work with another who has more experience getting articles to GA status. I'll catch you over on that talk page. BTW, there is link to the work I'm doing on my userpage. --DizFreak talk Contributions 03:45, 7 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Proposed deletion of Danita Angell

The article Danita Angell has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

no significant claim of notability, no indications that article may be meaningfully expanded -- short career, handful of GNews hits in captions

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{dated prod}} will stop the Proposed Deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The Speedy Deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and Articles for Deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Since you're a memeber of WP:WikiProject Architecture

Could you add some information to Contemporary architecture for general readers? As seeing the article in such the "poor" status (visiting the page to get some info but NOTHING in there), I was browsing the project member list, and recalled you're frequent a FA contributer. I want to contribute to the article, but that is not my field. It would be a great benefit for having your contribution to the article. Thanks.--Caspian blue 21:43, 5 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Wistert

now that you got the link

and saw Al get inducted - with Randall Cunningham

why won't you fix my edits that you took off?

plus, you really need to include how Al brought the stand up blocking we all see in the NFL today into the NFL with the Steagles

it is respect for Al and teaching kids their history

as far as the few sites that claim he missed so many games = Al never missed a game, was a 60 minute man, and only missed one start after the 5th game of his rookie year (when he replaced Ted Doyle as the starter)

it was against the Browns because of a bad ankle, but he ended up playing most of the game anyways

that is worth mentioning as well

Al is a better source of info than that of the hearsay of websites run by regular joes, since facts are so important...right?

hoping to hear a positive response back from you

since you have yet to reply to my previous message of proof Al finally got his respect, which I had asked you to chill, wait, and see

if you had = all of this would have been avoided —Preceding unsigned comment added by AFOS4EVER (talkcontribs) 05:53, 7 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

question

Will you please restore the edits I made on Al Wistert??

for example,on this sentence, "His number 70 was retired by the Eagles in 1952."

It could read "His number 70 was retired by the Eagles in 1952 when the Eagles honored him with a day called Al Wistert Day. Al was the first Eagle to ever have his jersey retired by the team."

Which also could be used in the first paragraph where it says he was the first Eagle to be a Pro Bowl player. It could say he was the first Eagle to ever have his jersey retired by the team, and the first Eagle to go to the Pro Bowl.

You can decide.

I also would REALLY like the fact that Al brought the stand up style of blocking used today into the NFL.

He was the first to ever do it.

This is an important and historic moment in the life of the NFL.

you need at least these facts included on his page to give him proper respect, as well as educate people.

Isn't this the intent of Wikipedia?

here is a link giving you his whole career, much of it told by Al himself.

Hey Tony, Giants27 and I are currently working on bringing Mike Kafka up to Good Article status, and we were wondering if you could help us out. Neither of us could find a free image of Kafka and since neither of us live near Illinois, we cannot take a picture of him. Would you (or your WP:CHICAGO buddies) happen to have a free image of him, or would you be willing to go to a Northwestern game to take a picture of him? Big East and WAC college football pages

you left me a message a while back saying that I have the editorial intrest to create pages for the Big East and the WAC to help fill the template of conference seasons for the 2009 season. THANK YOU!! because of that I did go ahead an create a WAC page and time willing and if nobody dose if before me I will create a Big East page and any other confernce that dose not have a page yet. My main focus is to get each teams pages as up to date as possible so it may be some time before I get to the Big East page but hopefully I get there. I just want to say thank you for letting me know. It meant a lot and gave me something to do for a while.Bsuorangecrush (talk) 09:45, 10 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

2009 Big Ten Conference football season

TonyTheTiger, thanks for reaching out regarding the 2009 Big Ten Conference football season article. Not sure if I have the patience to deal with filling out the schedule right now, but I'll see if I can chip in, although if I'm going to build schedule tables, I'd rather work on building out the yearly Michigan ones before 1969. While we're on the subject of collect football schedules, is there a standard for date and time formats? For dates I've been using DD/MM/YYYY, while you seem to be using Month-DD. For time I've been using h:mm AM/PM while you are using h:mm a.m./p.m. See 2005 Michigan Wolverines football team for an example of my format usage. big ten tv networks

added the tv networks for week 3-5 like you asked. thanks for asking me to update it. i am willing to help in any way i can. i love college football so much that i want everything as up to date as possible (time willing on my part). please let me know if i can help in any way anymore throughout the season with football and basketball. i did even update a few images on iowa and illinois basketball pages i noticed werent there. i also went ahead and ceated the 2009 ACC football season page and will get to the reamaining conferences in weeks to come, let me know if you have any suggestions.Bsuorangecrush (talk) 09:38, 13 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

thanks for the suggestion on the ranking tables. that does make sence for the larger conferences, but i dont think ill add it to the WAC page since only boise state has been ranked and really no other wac team is going to come close this year, having a talbe for every team will just waste space, but for the big east and acc pages it makes sence.
